I loved how Tammy played a horrible pass to elmo and then started waving his arms and complaining for the resulting poor cross.

Was going out from a corner from a deflection anyway I thought

This thread is fairly amusing.
"He's been rubbish for us"
"it's been tough though, poor coaching and no tactics"
"but he's failed at the basics of being a footballer, like controlling the ball"
"but he's proven at this level, just look at his history"
"but he's been a failure for us"
"he just needs more time and better coaching"
And around we go. It's basically the Steve Bruce thread, tweaked slightly to suit a striker rather than a manager
What a time to be alive.

Not being able to control simple passes consistently or complete simple passes for that matter doesn't bode well for him.
His confidence is obviously shot which has to play a big part but to me he looks like a poor man's Andy Johnson, lots of running and being a nuisance but not a very good footballer.
In saying that I would be thrilled if he turned it around and shot us to promotion, although even if we play two strikers which I don't think we will, he has to be behind Tammy and Kodjia anyway.

Have you seen pictures of him lately? He looks like he should work as security for one of those casinos on Broad Street.
Should have a case to terminate his contract for being a professional athlete in that shape.

A centre half and a keeper??
No thanks pal, think we're good in that department.

Hope he takes Ollie Watkins and that bellend Neal Maupay here with him.

I have that weird optimistic feeling again.
Unsettling.

Good question, I guess he did?
"He had received his first coaching badges while still at Dunfermline at the age of 24"
Then was awarded new ones to reflect his experience when the new rules came in
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/6189330.stm
" the more established coaches such as Harry Redknapp or Sir Alex Ferguson, have been awarded an FA coaching diploma to recognise their experience."
That's interesting, thanks!

You telling me Steve Bruce had badges?
Surely managers who were in the game a long time didn't have to get badges whenever that rule came in.
I can't imagine Alex Ferguson ever had to do them when they brought that in.
Maybe he did

This is very much Bruce's legacy.
The real mistake was not getting rid of him MUCH earlier.
Lol, yeah let's keep blaming Bruce.

In a hotel in London waiting patiently, after travelling from Dublin, hopefully this is is the dawn of a new era.
Even if its another false dawn, I'm not that bothered. New dawn be sweet though

He could have won the next 10 games or he equally could have won zero of the next 10., it was time to go, we weren’t making any noticeable improvements. A change was definitely needed.
It just leaves a sour taste witnessing some of the personal attacks and bile spewed by so many billy big bollox keyboard warrior Villa fans lately.
I’m astounded at the level of support and glee for the throwing of a cabbage at the manager during the game, all jokes aside that’s absolute scum behaviour which no one deserves to be on the receiving end of least of all someone who was trying to do their best regardless of how poorly the team were performing.

I'd rather Deontay Wilder might just scare em into winning
Or Gene Wilder, might bring a bit of much needed humour to the club.

Need some shock and awe football, whoever the manager is, don't like defensive football that much anymore, so whoever comes in needs to deliver the SHOCK AND AWE at fast pace.
Iain Dowie?

Not arguing with you, but you didn’t answer my question. What does “stop the rot” mean? And what specific decisions or actions did he take to do that
I'd say you're tremendous fun at parties.

honestly couldn't care less who the new manager is as long as he's good
Yep, I'd also be in favour of a good manager. That'd be ideal.

Bosz or AVB for me, Wilder maybe too.
Wouldn't kick Hughton out of bed but not very realistic.

Nobody would be eating their words any manager worth his salt would get this team promoted and probably would have done so already
So you reckon he will/would get us promoted this season ?

For once i don't agree with what Macca is saying. Was he watching same game?
I watched it and I thought it was a big improvement defensively, wasn't happy with the forward play myself but you have to be solid defensively first and foremost in this league before you can think about being attacking. Still not sure if we can get someone better in at this time, be very open to the idea but 2 wins for the top 13 teams tells you how competitive this league is, won't be plain sailing for anyone who comes in.

Thought Jedinak was very good tonight though in fairness.

His stats are ridiculous. Has to play, alongside Grealish and McGinn and instead of Jedinak the liability.
If he doesn't start the next game something is wrong.
In general play he doesn't seem to offer much but his goals and assists are so vital and the championship is a game of fine margins, does seem to make a difference.

No problem. Just to give you something to compare it to as Hourihane has also played a part in exactly as many games (this is updated to include this season/today). This is not a small sample that picks & chooses games. It is every single championship game & includes people coming on as last minute subs when we are 2 up etc.
Grealish - Of the 65 games he has played any part in at all We have Won 24 Drawn 20 & Lost 21 (36.92% win percentage) 1.41 points per game
Hourihane - Of the 65 games he has played any part in at all We have Won 31 Drawn 14 & Lost 20 (47.69% win percentage) 1.64 points per game
Hard to believe, trying to work out how that might be. I wonder is it just Connors goal threat and Grealishs lack there of because in general play Grealish offers so much more even from a defensive point of view.
Those stats have really bamboozled me!

The pressing has been a joy to watch. Doesn't even feel like watching Villa.
