    Technically, Buendia's body isn't capable of doing what Buendia did right now. But I get the point, I think that the modern game has moved on a little and athleticism is more at a premium than when Coutinho was at Liverpool.

    The new badge isn't great so in my opinion, it is worth the time to come up with a proper vision for branding the club going forward. The only thing you can say about the new badge is it's better than the old one. Both disappear on the photo which is the exact opposite of what a badge is meant to do!

    I'm guessing because they don't know anything! I hadn't heard a single media voice saying Ashley Young should be released, in fact quite the contrary.

    I vote after every game on the man of the match and I always find it difficult to decide. But I have no problem thinking of the players I wish weren't playing, take a bow Leon Bailey.

    Strangely, I was at the Villa Park tour with Ashley Preece and I heard it too from the tour guide. The monorail was to go above the canal from Birmingham Airport if my memory serves but it was said as something that could happen at some point in the distant future.

    How did Coutinho play 90? Why didn't Gerrard bring subs on earlier? It seems like we shoe-horned Buendia in for a well-deserved start. And the ref was quite frankly rubbish. The Mings' yellow card wasn't actually a foul at all and kinda set the tone. Martinez probably should have saved the goal but he was wrong-footed.

    I actually don't disagree, I think we would have still lost, but let's see it 11 vs. 11. I'm just frustrated that 2 weeks in a row, it's been questionable VAR decisions. I like to think that whatever game I was watching, I'd find the decisions questionable.

    Quite possibly. But again it wasn't awarded so not a clear and obvious error.

    Officiating decided the day and Martinez not at his best. I look forward to Villa games but to be repeatedly undone by VAR decisions that aren't "clear and obvious" ruins my enjoyment of the game and the team I love so much.

    Fastest I did was 1 hour 5 minutes from memory, house to house. There's more speed cameras now but there's also the M6 Toll which couldn't be much closer to Bodymoor Heath. If Axel lives in Cheshire like a fair few footballers, the commute might be quite acceptable for him. Fours hours in a car daily sounded high to me but, whatever it is, he must feel comfortable with the situation. I didn't disagree with the general gist of your original post though, it does seem a slightly surprising move to move to be a back-up.

    Young lad getting game time and staying local in a pandemic, I'm not too worried about league but would hope he gets goals.

    Can't see him going anywhere until after the Stoke game. Pretty much the same with all that team, they ain't half bad.

    They're an absolute mess from top to bottom. The manager of my Thursday night football team is a West Ham fan and he way not optimistic to say the least. He said Sullivan and Gold are 90s owners, that Gold fancies himself as a DoF and that he can spot a player and that too many of their players are there for a final pay cheque and go missing in games. It did sound like a summary of our final seasons before relegation.

    I guess he's deceptively slow then. Or he has a slow first step. Or he's carrying an injury. He looked like he was running through treacle in the Southampton game.
