  1. I think to be fair to Lee, DO'L was never capable of producing the sustained bursts of form that the little man was capable of... Good article this is to, quite an interesting trip down memory lane!
  2. Just hope he'll ignore the transfer fee and just concentrate and producing his best for Villa, if he does that, we won't worry about the fee!
  3. Thing is, relegation isn't as far away as you think, if we don't beat Watford this weekend, can you see us winning any of the next four games, Barcodes (A), Reading (A), West Spam (H) and Arse (H)... We need new players now to bolster the side, if the worst comes and Watford role us this weekend, we're in the shit, no questions, and I'd bank the house on that if that happens, we'll be no higher then 17th come the start of March, no if's buts or maybes, we need to start getting points now, or it won't be 'relegation could happen' it'll be 'shit, who has tickets to Southend next week?'
  4. I wouldn't be suprised at all if MON went for a player like Dean Ashton at the Hammers, or maybe Harewood, sombody who is strong, good in the air, maybe he'll even look abroad, I would imagine he'd sign sombody under 25 though... I think his other signing would be a right winger, Milner I doubt, I think he would only have moved for Milner because he was already familiar with the Villa setup, maybe he'll make a play for SWP, and keep Milner in the back pocket as a back up?
  5. Lets offer them Samuel, Newky's seem to love defenders who fail to defend...
  6. The Foo Fighters are massive in Australia, I've seen the band themselves say how they can't believe just how massive they are in this country. As for my opinion, I was put onto them when I was 15 or so by a neighbour, 'There is nothing left to lose' was about the third cd I brought, and I believe its also their third album? Its a cracker of a listen, 'One By One' is also a decent album, but 'In Your Honor' is probably up there with 'There is nothing left to lose' for me...
  7. I think we could struggle this season, our recruiting has hardly set the house on fire, and we've now sold a player who most agree did make the side look better when he came back from injury, I wouldn't be suprised to see us down in 15th... WHY THE **** DO WE HAVE TO MAKE OURSELVES LOOK A LAUGHING STOCK IN FRONT OF THE SCUM! Fully, I've had enough of us letting Birmingham pull away from us, I've had enough of their fans rubbing our clubs lack of direction into us already, and I live in Australia! Our board is a joke, and our club is run like a Sunday League side, and there is nothing we can do, a once proud club is now a joke, a laughing stock, and we all know who to blame...
  8. I'm hoping Saints go down, the **** have been down there so long, they deserve to go. Wouldn't that be funny if Pompey rolled over on the last day and WBA stayed up, a point ahead of Saints! Hope it happens!
  9. ML is a good defender, but we knew he was going to be good when he joined, for me, it has to be Steven Davis, since he has been a revelation since making his debut.
  10. I think we still don't use Darius' pace to our advantage enough, I'd like to see more balls from our own half for Dazz to run onto, because not many defenders could get over him speed wise, his finishing isn't sharp, but I'm sure he can improve it. For me, DV feels one of those players who you feel is going to break out and score 30+ one season...
  11. I'm gunna go with Ridgewell. Next season is going to be great for our defense, Ollie and ML, and Ridgewell and Cahill waiting in the wings!
  12. What about Dennis Bergkamp? I voted for Gianfranco, but after him, Bergie is my favourite player, both these guys are capable of producing moments of absolute brilliance on the pitch, both went well into their thirties, both are consumate pro's, but both showed a genuine love for the shirt they represented. (Yes I know Bergie's still trotting around )
  13. Yakubu sure has that proven record after his long stint of one whole season in the Premiership, what a record! And Beattie hasn't got that flash a record really now, has he... Proven strikers in the Premiership, Henry, RVN, Kluivert, add to that the likes of Bergkamp, Shearer, Hasselbaink who can point to their past records and say that they are proven. JPA can't be expected to find goals if he doesn't get service, I watched the Pompey game, he got plenty of ball in the box, scored a good goal and looked fairly dangerous, I also watched the first half vs Spurs, he didn't get that much service, and as a result, looked poor, you can't criticise JPA, its the midfield who are at fault. We need SOMEONE who is going to provide consistant service to our front-men, and then maybe they'll start scoring.
  14. I'll give you poms some credit, at least your blaiming your own men rather then blaming everyone from Thomas Sorrensen to George W to Shane Warne for your exit.
