  1. Does anyone have any idea which hotel the squad are staying in over the weekend?
  2. I know it's probably be FAR too early to be singing regularly for Gareth and it's up to him to win the fans back over but with next Sunday's game coming up I couldn't but help think this would sound great.... To the tune of Living Next Door to Alice: We thought he would be leaving, And it looked like he would go, But when the Scouser's came-a-thieving Martin told 'em where to go, Cos all the Villans know that Barry shits on Steven Gerrard, Gerrad? **** off Steven Gerrard!
  3. Surely the best quote has to be... “In six months time I’m probably going to go from somebody who loves handbags and make-up to lecturing people how great football is, and did they know we’ve just sold so-and-so?" Nice to see that although she claims to know nothing about football she seems to realise that the club she is joining is not the sort to be welcoming new players but rather saying goodbye to the existing 'stars' who have already been proven to be utter dross! It's too good.
  4. Come on credit where credit's due, I came up with all of that bar 'someone better tell em' no? Not that it will actually ever end up being sung. Sidwell one however might just make it to the stands.
  5. Love it. Maybe for the last few lines: He's as fast as a train, He's as fast as light, He's faster than Karren Brady on a Friday night Da da da da Da da da da Etc
  6. You can put your bids in, Get your cheque books out, But you can't have Gareth Barry, you ain't got a **** shout! He's an Aston Villa hero, that's what he's all about. That's why we love to shout.... Wooooah Gareth Barry, Wooooah Gareth Barry, Wooooah Gareth Barry, Piss of cockneys and thieving scouse! Hardly too long/complicated to catch on and fairly topical! Also I'm a fan of 'You are my Barry...'
  7. Good shout on the second last line. Also I see you can squeeze in the 'down' in the first line if 'flying' is sung as one syllable. But probably not 'the' as well. Not sure about second line. Think it would have to stay as 'No, he's shite' as can't see how you can find room for the extra word. Who's that winger flying down left and right? Is it Sean Wright-Phillips? No he's shite, It isn't Aaron Lennon, so someone better tell 'em, It's Ashley Young he's **** dynamite! We're getting there!
  8. As posted in the chant thread: (to the tune of 'she'll be coming round the mountain') Who's that winger flying left and right? Is it Sean Wright-Phillips? No he's shite! It isn't Aaron Lennon, it isn't Theo Walcott, It's Ashley Young, he's **** dynamite!
  9. Ashley Young is on the left handside Ashley Young is on the right handside Ashley Young is in the England side
  10. To celebrate the fact we have such great young English talent and accordingly have the national manager here every other week: (To the tune of For he's a jolly good fellow) Season ticket for Capello Season ticket for Capello Season ticket for Capeeeelllooo To watch the villa play! To watch the villa play, To watch the villa play, It's Fabio Capello, Here every Saturday!
  11. Two possibilities for Young and Barry as it is criminal they don't have original songs: (To the tune of She'll be coming round the mountain) It's England's five foot winger on the right, Is it Sean Wright-Phillips? No he's shite! It ain't Aaron Lennon or Theo Walcott, It's Ashley Young, he's **** dynamite! (To the tune of the hokey-cokey) You can put your bids in, Get your cheque books out, But you can't have Gareth Barry, you ain't got a **** shout! He's an Aston Villa hero, that's what he's all about, that's why we love to shout.... Oooooh Gareth Barry, Oooooh Gareth Barry, Oooooh Gareth Barry, Piss of cockneys and thieving scouse!
  12. Love it. Old badge was 'plasticy' and looked like the cheap logo for cheap characterless merchandise. This one has its own style, pays homage to the past and also will be aesthetically pleasing around ground/on kits, etc.
  13. I don't think he really knew the specifics of how the club was being run but indicated Tony Hayles was despairing of the situation behind the scenes.
  14. Spent last weekend with a friend and colleague of Tony Hayles, (non-executive director at Villa I believe) who said that the Comer brothers are no longer in the picture, it was simply a case of them not having the requisite funding. Apparently Doug is despreate to sell but Rothschilds are really struggling to find any interested parties. As it stands there is NO takeover.
