Not what you need 2 hours before a European quarter final 2nd leg
Was someone on here desperate for us to sign him?

I reckon we're going to end up as the sole English team left at this rate

After years of embarrassment, Unai has taken us back to the level where we command respect again.
I bet there isn't one among us whose first thought on seeing that looks at the table and doesn't get upset at where half of Man Utds points came from

Gerrard signed him and so some people will always criticise him and the money he’s on
I don't think that's it at all. Gerrard signed Kamara on big money and he doesn't get criticism as a result.
It's just a self feeding joke, along the lines of 'why didn't Barry take the penalty?' and 'can we loan Janjuzaj?'
The joke is separate to the player, who the vast majority of Villa fans are very happy with, I'm sure.

Id hate to be Spurs
Wouldn't bother me in the slightest. If we qualify for CL and win a Cup I'll be way too happy to give a shit about how it affects other teams

If we don’t make Champions League it will obviously be disappointing after coming so close but it is what it is. We’ll just have to win the Europa next season instead.
The most important thing is to keep qualifying for a European competition as it helps in building and maintaining a squad. It would be cracking to qualify for CL but it's not the magic bullet that some feel it is. Hopefully we'll get fourth and all will be good but if we don't then it will still be a major achievement by the boys

Werner is fast, relatively useful on the ball, but he couldn't hit a donkey's arse with a banjo. I'd rather play Morgan Rogers or Duran and let them reach their potential.
Both of whom belong to us and are already more effective PL players

We will finish 5th and that will easily be enough. It won't even be close on the coefficient.
We will be in CL next season barring an absolutely ridiculous set of results that just won't happen.
Then, next season, we'll lose all our games in the CL and finish about 11th in the league
Sweet dreams, don't have nightmares

We do but he will be missing for half of next season so TRO is correct, we will need a top quality CDM in the summer

In fairness, even if he had started to come back this weekend, his match fitness would not have been good enough before the season ended

United 5 points behind us now as their game in hand is Sheffield United at OT. They've the easier run in after this weekend. You'd say 6th place finish is definitely likely for us now.
Massive for United this win and a killer for us
I'm loving your reverse psychology, keep it going my man!

Out interest, is the Europa League changing to the same format as the CL?

I can only assume you're a relatively new fan then as I could name plenty worse players from the 40 years I've been following Villa

Been a funny week, far more interested in the Spurs and Man U games than our own.
That's because we all suspected we would lose. In the end, as long as Man Utd fail to win tomorrow not much changes

Does anyone remember the media fawning over Newcastle last season in their race for CL? I don't see the same from them regarding our pursuit.
**** the media and the horse they rode in on

Disagree, if they win their game in hand, they'll be "only" 8 points behind us with 8 games to go. With us being in questionable form and having a brutal fixture list and United historically having the ability to go on runs, even when they are at their worst, I think we'd be naive to call them irrelevant just yet - Although it should be unlikely that they catch us and this season would be a complete bottlejob if they do. 2-3 more wins this season and then I'll start calling Utd irrelevant
I'm just looking at it round by round. Last weekend we had the most difficult game, Spurs the easiest, Man Utd middle. We gained points on Man Utd.
This round we, again, have the most difficult, Spurs second and Man Utd easiest. Man Utd have to take opportunities like this if they are to make up the ground.
Basically, they have to win tonight

Not sure they'd fill it, they've not really been relevant since the '90s have they?
