  1. Apple Watches or Garmins are pretty decent in terms of heart rate monitoring to be honest, I'd certainly get one as they provide all sorts of good informatio on top of heart rate.. As CV says, just take it easy until you finish C25K. Once you can run 5K without stopping, you can then start trying to run longer distances AND doing interval work at a faster pace. Both of these will get your fitness up no end. Once you have got up to 5K, start looking at park runs, a nationwide (and indeed, worldwide) series of 5K runs on Saturday mornings at 9am. They're great fun, there are loads of them, and the people who do them are all moslty really nice. It's a fantastic community, it really is.

We saw her too so me and my 2 little lads gave her the UTV too πŸ˜† we also saw a poor older lady collapse and nastily wound her head. Not good.Β

My Mrs did well, was her second 10k and managed 1:02 which she was pleased with. She did one in Sutton Coldfield a few weeks back which was really hilly so googled the flattest 10k and Leicester was one of those!Β

Yeah, really nice course. Despite living 20 minutes from Leicester I'd never been to Abbey Park before, and it was really lovely. My daughter did it in 59:58, and she was aiming for sub 1hr so got in by the very tiniest of margins. I wanted sub 55 mins and did in a couple of seconds under as well, so all good!

Quick update. I downloaded the C25K app and went out to give it a go before work.

I don't have any earphones to listen along though so thought I would pop into Sainsbury's to pick some up but Argos doesn't open until 9 (What's that about?) so I just used the timer on my phone and found it quite enjoyable. Amittedly I'm not sure what I was doing could be considered running rather than jogging but will definitely be doing this more and hopefully the migraines stay away.

Dosn't matter mate, it's considered running by us. It's also a lot faster than sitting at home on your bum watching Netflix!

  4. Ah that would have been good mate. Saw one brave lass there in a Villa shirt. Me and my daughter who was running as well gave her an β€˜Up the Villa’! How did your missus get on?

I've wanted to improve my fitness for some time now but I always get exercise induced migraines with anything physically strenuous, it really puts me off.

I also get that really sharp pain when breathing in during cardiovascular exercise which I've read is caused by cold air restricting the airways as we start to breathe through our mouths rather than our noses. I usually end up gasping for air after five minutes lol.

Has anyone experience these things as well?Β

I first started Couch to 5K about 8 years ago. I was monumentally unfit and about 18 stone. The time I did the first day of the first week, I ended up puking my ring up after about 10 minutes. I couldn't even bend down to tie my shoe laces without wheezing and being out of breath. But just build up slowly and gradually. C25K is great, and once you finish it and can run 5K without stopping, you can use that as the building blocks to go forward. Fast forward 8 years I'm now in my 50s, 5 stone lighter and absolutely love running. I'll probably never be that quick at the longer distances, especially nowhere the times the likes of CV on here can achieve, but I'm happy gradually improving and just getting out there. You'll also find that running is a brilliant social sport, and just about every runner I've met has been sound.

Imagine though the first teamΒ Β no longer playing fn front of the holte end

It's a lot to get your head around

On the other hand, imagine scoring the goal to win a game in front of 60,000 people in a new stadium, that wins us the league. Or being able to buy a drink or go for a piss at half time.

  7. Given the company involved, and the background of the individuals appointed, this is very strongly pointing to NSWE looking at a major development, ie huge multi use development with a new stadium. Hopefully that's what they're planning, anyway.

It is, but we all still have our own ceiling that no amount of training will take us beyond. I'll never run a sub-3 marathon however train.Β

Without knowing how old you are and anything about injuries etc, I reckon you probably could, it'd just take an awful lot of hard work and your life might not be able to accommodate that, I know mine wouldn't. My aim is to get down to as close to a 20 minute 5K as I can. A few years ago, I was stuck around 28/29 minutes, but all I did was run 5Ks. Once I started trianing properly and constantly, the times really started coming down.

My Paris Marathon was a failure. Unfortunately I was ill but thought I was ok. Stomach wasn't good and basically none of the energy gels were being digested.Β

Had felt good at halfway and then around 25k knew it was not going well. Went downhill after that. Had to stop and walk 4 times to complete it.

3h28m in the end quite a way off last year 3h18mΒ

Have decided to look at redemption in October with one of Marathons up north or possibly Dublin if I can find a way to get entry.

I’d absolutely love to β€˜fail’ that quickly!

It all depends on how much potential Unai sees in him. He could easily still view him as having high potential.

I don't think there's much chance of us keeping him, and neither should we. When Buendia and Ramsey are fit, they'll be competing with Rogers for the same sort of positions on the pitch. Zaniolo's not getting a game ahead of those three.
