  1. Trump was Putin's little bitch. Trump was terrified of him and did what he was told. I'm not sure that counts as a good relationship. Biden treats Putin like the enemy of the USA and NATO that he is, which unsurprisingly means a more hostile relationship.
  2. Yep, it is a fascinating story, and you have it right, that technically they should not be cutting a deal like this, but they did it anyway effectively to save the USA. It is a story really well told here: Bagman There is a bit of Watergate precedence being used by Jack Smith at the moment, with the Supreme Court being asked to look urgently at Trumps claim of "Presidential Immunity". There are so many echoes of Watergate at the moment, it is well worth having a listen. Although Agnew wasn't a part of Watergate, he was just doing other criminal things at the same time.
  3. It's the exact deal they offered Spiro Agnew during Watergate to prevent him from becoming President after Nixon.
  4. It already is Fascist IMO, it is becoming Orwellian. They are literally legislating that reality isn't what we can see with our eyes reality is what they tell us it is. Proper 1984 stuff.
  5. Why YouTube is better than the BBC. The guy is a QPR fan and he actually did some research.....!
  6. I don't watch any right wing media, I do however recall what he promised and what he has actually achieved. I've never said he has done nothing, but in comparison to the size of the promise he has managed very little and what he has achieved has been so compromised that it has very little actual impact. The main promises that seemed to impact the lives of normal people were to my mind: 1. Raise the minimum wage to $15 2. Forgive student debt 3. Codify Roe v Wade All 3 he has failed completely on. According to the the linked promise tracker (below) he is tracking at about 27% promises kept. That is a failure any way you cut it. Biden promise tracker And why has he failed so much or had to compromise so heavily? Just take a look at Joe Manchin and how he has ripped the heart out Biden's agenda. Has Manchin faced any sanction, or any pressure? Nope, he just keeps voting with the GOP and Biden holds up his hand and says there is nothing he can do. I want Biden to win more than most, but his failure is not a right wing talking point, it is a matter of fact.
  7. The Republican debates are basically a Trump buttkissing exercise in a race to come second to the orange Jesus. Chris Christie is the only one not using the debates as an audition to be VP, so the talking points there are totally untethered from reality as Trump would demand. The reason Biden is failing is partly his age and obvious decline, but it is mostly because he has failed to deliver against almost all of the agenda he promised in the last election. All he has competently delivered is for his donors, not for the electorate. He has maintained a status quo that the majority are not happy with. He is a hard man to vote for because, despite not being awful, he has failed and who wants to vote for more of that? He is still light years better than Trump though
  8. What's even crazier is that the polling suggests Trump has a decent chance of winning the election when it happens. The guy is literally standing to be the last democratically elected president of the USA. For the race to be close with everything we know about Trump demonstrates just how broken America is right now.
  9. Give me a break, there is no way that Starmer and Sunak are cut from the same cloth. Sunak is a spoiled little shit. Starmer built his entire career in adversarial and high pressure situations. Dealing with big issues and conflict was his day job. I'm no fan of the man regarding his policy but he is a million miles away from Sunak as a man
  10. Yep, that is the puppy. The OP even manages to reference Chelsea just to complete the media darling wankfest bingo. It seems that despite finishing above spurs last season and being ahead of them now, having just beaten them on their own ground is not enough to emerge from their shadow.
  11. Found an interesting thread on Reddit that I think perfectly encapsulates the impact of mindless football reporting on the opinions of fans. The 86 point theory This is an attempt at a pretty hardcore statistical analysis on the true value of one win over another win dependent on the opposition. It's ok to read, I think it is well intended if a little pointless but I'm not going to knock the OP for giving it a go. Where it falls over is when it starts breaking down the performance of the top 6 teams. Take a look and see if you can spot where my faith in his ability with data handling took a fatal hit.
  12. I disagree. Removing VAR in it's current form is totally logical. This iteration needs to be understood to be making the game worse not better and binned off. The amount of change required to make it work well is not achievable over a single close season. Yes the officials are the problem, they are beyond hopeless and are so caught up in their referee bubble that there is no hope of change. A new generation of VAR official needs to be created and it needs to be independent of the match day team. They need to be able to implement the laws of the game without fear or favour for the teams playing or for their mates (because they won't be mates anymore) officiating the game. However to do this they will have to admit that they screwed the pooch by appointing the people that are running VAR right now. They need some proper modern professionals in there. They did the equivalent of putting Gerard in charge. Great history in the game, totally unsuited to the managerial role.
  13. This could be the best thing to happen to F1 in the short term. The rivalry could carry an entire season, even if redbull remain untouchable. I'd have loved this to happen.
  14. To be fair to the Tories they have done a pretty good marketing job on the changes in tax. They have got us doing the maths on the relatively small amounts the budget will make us better off, whilst actually making us poorer.
  15. I think you are a little optimistic there. I suspect Starmer will draw a line under it or some other bs language about not looking backwards. I'm 100% confident these crimes will never be punished and the money never returned. They will even keep her in the Lord's despite having blatantly abused her position. Accountability for the rich and powerful has never really been a thing in this country regardless of the incumbent government.
  16. Take Southgate off. Replace him with a hat stand.
  17. I would honestly rather they just played 15 minutes of adverts.
  18. It's like they gave the management of the England team to the Goes Wrong Show team. It's so bad it's funny.
  19. The thoughts of Cole and Lescott on the way, so that should really clear things up....
  20. Yep, 100% a pen, especially as he gave the foul by Walker seconds later, which was almost exactly the same contact
  21. Was she at work? You should probably give that outfit a go, then everyone would be clearly able to see youre nuts.
  22. Straight up the most sexist comment I have seen on this site. You have asked for a woman to be reprimanded by her employer for wearing an outfit on a night out that you have deemed indecent. That is some Sharia law, morality police bs. You are 100% entitled to have your opinion on her fashion choices, but wanting her to be punished for wearing something you deem too revealing is the definition of sexist. It is how in some countries women end up having to wear head scarves or the burka. The policing of women's clothes is one of the most common forms of oppression and one of the main causes of harassment globally. Amnesty international have a paper called: Women’s right to choose their dress, free of coercion I'm going to quote a bit of it here, you can decide for yourself if you have fallen foul of any of it. Amnesty international
  23. Tonight for the England game we have Cole, Defoe and Lescott. It's the perfect hatrick of awful punditry, thick, boring and humourless. None of them have said anything interesting or insightful ever. The mute button has been a blessing.
