  1. Sorry. That one was me as well. ****. Did I invent woke?!
  2. We actually got more flak for launching this one which was a LITERAL GEORGE CROSS. Because England don't play in red.
  3. I actually designed the 2010 shirt too. Peter did the graphic concept with @PauloBarnesi. We blatantly spelt out that it was representative of the fabric of modern England.
  4. I turned 45 yesterday. Think I was about 23 when I started posting on the original VT.
  5. Good result at a tough place to go - particularly with key players missing. This is a team that is in the Europa League QF and, had they won today, would've been a point behind Man Utd. They might play crap football, but they're very effective. Take the point, get home.
  6. If Ben Mee had done that to Jacob Ramsey we'd have wanted him sent to prison. We've just got to suck this one up, sadly.
  7. Looks like he's got a sore neck and his name is (kind of) "My neck"
  8. I tried really hard not to put "she didn't start the fire" but if I'd known this was in the pipes I'd have gone straight in. Superb work.
  9. I didn't know that, so it's good insight. For me, there's a clear difference between Pep's almost robotic system and how Emery sends his teams out. There's the requirement for tactical understanding and discipline, but there also seems to be a lot of trust in the individual to express themselves. In some respects, that may be even harder. When to deploy the instructions and when to trust your instincts. As Bailey proves, though, if you can figure it out the results are outstanding.
  10. To add to that, I won't presume that everyone on VT knows my life story, but my nephew was stabbed and killed in Sutton Coldfield in 2020 so I'm speaking from experience here.
  11. So sorry to hear that mate. Once things have settled down, the Dad could benefit from channelling his grief into something positive. The Daniel Baird Foundation would be a good start. They focus on putting bleed control kits where they might be most needed. Nothing will make up for the loss of his son, but your friend will feel a bit better if he can save the life of somebody else's.
  12. I've always been a Fluoxetine kinda guy. The original and still the best
  13. Let's not underestimate the level of tactical nous required to play Emery's system. Coaching it into a player with years of top-level experience is always going to happen quicker than a young kid, regardless of background.
  14. If only we had previous experience of signing a jet-heeled, box-o-tricks winger from Leverkusen who had only shown his ability in flashes before coming good... This guy isn't a Milot Rashica (whatever happened to him?!). He's a full French international we signed from a regular Champions League team. WHEN we have him and Leon full throttle, the streets better be ready!
  15. Well that's a **** relief. I'll get on the phone with the bank and let them know there's some sort of mistake with my business current account.
  16. My heart breaks for him. 3 or 4 years ago he had the world at his feet. He looks an absolute shadow of that player. I hope Galatasaray can afford to keep him and that he can get back to scoring goals for them. I'd love for him to be somebody's hero. Sadly, I don't think he's gonna be ours.
  17. I've always thought he lacked consistency. Not the consistency of scoring every single week - very few in the world are at that level. The consistency of striking the ball, even in the same match. Sometimes a good hit, other times scuffed, dragged or mistimed. The last few weeks he's been hitting the ball incredibly true. Away at Fulham he absolutely cracked one past the keeper. Against Forest he struck one beautifully but just wide. His second today wasn't a pure instep shot, he curled it beyond the keeper with accuracy and pace. We know he tends to have "streaky" form, but I wonder if this is less to do with a streak and more to do with hard work. If it IS the latter, the streaky form will disappear too and he'll be scoring like Harry Kane. And if/when that happens, he'll have to be in that top bracket of strikers with the likes of Haaland, Kane and Salah. Which is **** incredible when you look at his journey compared to theirs. Go on son!
  18. I'm two episodes into The Brothers Sun, on Netflix. It's fantastic. Action, plot, comedy, absurdity, soundtrack - it's got the lot. On the heels of "Everything, Everywhere, All At Once", it's another absolute winner for Michelle Yeoh.
