Michael Owen. But I'd stay away from him for the SAME reasons. These players had good records once, but don't look anything like they're capable of ever doing it again. The worrying thing is you (and some others too) would be happy for us to spunk £10m up the wall on this type of player. It's a very high risk signing and £10m doens't grow in Randys garden. If you (and others) are basing your point on stats then you may as well argue a case for signing Ian Rush for £10m!!

Yukubu looks like he is in his mid 30s, his Nigerian age of 27 confirms that. I agree that he would offer nothing more than Carew, futhermore Carew has the heading ability that Yakubu does not. If we are going to be spending £9m+ on a striker it should not be on one going downhill.

It is annoying, but it does find an opponent similar to your skill level already, although the opponent can be any team. Play enough and you'll find that despite playing against better teams you will actually be better than your opponent. You'll find pitched against 4* teams to be tougher opponents when you're at the right skill level. I beat these 5* kids 9/10 and I'm always villa.

The thing with finishing 4th is you still have to play a qualify to get into the champions league, besides you don't actually win a trophy for it. I was in the camp for Villa rather winning a cup than finishing 4th so in that sense I would prefer England to win the world cup than a 4th place finish for Villa. Still rather prefer Villa to win any cup (or the league obviously) than England win the World Cup though (not including The Peace Cup!)

I hate this, its one of the reasons I don't play online anymore, unless its with people I know. I found myself passing the ball around deliberately not trying to score until late in the 2nd half to stop these gits disconnecting. I think EA should put an option in for allowing losers to quit at half time accepting the loss, or if they disconnect after going a goal down then they cant start a new game for half an hour as punishment.

Thanks for your replies. But I know how to lob the ball, I'm talking about getting the achievements for your virtual pro. I have most of them, one of the exceptions being "Claim x career assists from lobbed passes" What I want to know is do lobbed through balls count towards your total of lobbed passes or is it strictly lobbed passes only?

Coming back to achievements for a moment.. I've just started working on the lobbed pass assists and just needed to know if anyones done it yet? Do lofted through balls count as a lobbed pass or is it strictly lobbed pass as in pressing the lobbed pass button? I already know crosses don't count as lobbed passes as I've just completed that achievement. Cheers

Thanks for that, but my problem is I cant even score headers when I'm not even using my created pro. Eg when playing with Villa even Carew cant hit the target with headers. The shoot button is for headers right?

I've unlocked practically everything, apart from anything to do with crosses and headers. Months of playing and i still havent figured out how to score a header. Even from 2 yards out I cant hit the target with a header so how im supposed to score 50+ is unthinkable. That applies to crosses too as even the most perfect cross in the world cant be converted from even 2 yards out. What am I doing wrong? is anyone else struggling to score headers?

Giant throw is one of the easiest, set yourself as a full back take 10 long throws (only takes 2 or 3 games realy) and hey presto the giant throw is unlocked.

I would happily have taken a victory in the Carling Cup final over finishing 4th, let alone the FA cup.

FA Cup Finishing 4th doesnt get you into the champions league, nor does finishing 3rd. You have to finish 2nd. Im not confident we could beat the big boys of Europe in the qualifiers to get into the group stage. Those that think high calibre players will come running because we finish 4th are wrong, they know full well theres still a lot of work to be done to make the lucrative group stages, as more often than not they will already have experienced these tough games. The group stage doesn't start until after the transfer window shuts. I'd rather win the FA Cup than take a chance of a few qualifying rounds to get to the group stages. Having said that I dont see any reason at all why we cant do both. Theres only 1 extra game between now and the end of the season if we want to win the FA Cup, its not like we are going to play our resevres in any games between now and the end of the season.

just go in the area using standard arena practice and press a direction using the d-pad or analogue if you have d-pad as your default directions. You will then have a penalty. Try not to put it over.
