Another possibility , if not mentioned is when you decide to start bringing player 's in on high wages those left who come to end of contracts want parity and we don't want to pay.

We have spunked all the cash on high salaried established players so we can say look we are massive we brought Ings / Carlos /Digne ,that's why we have run out of wiggle room.

Coutinho is a vanity signing for both CP and SG .bring in the big name and it will work ..except after a bright start its hard to put a case for him to be starting games. The transfer policy of bringing in established players on high wages needs instant results which we are not getting so for me ,both SG and CP are in firing line if I'm the owners.In SG case the fact that he went through so many at Ranger's makes me think he is just another Bryan Robson / Steve Bruce type who keeps spending and moving the pieces till something stick's but no tactical nous at all. They brought in 3 players to replace Jack but seemed to have not taken into account actually getting all 3 into the team at once ! Digne - did we scout him , did we have a report on how he would fit in strengths /weakness's or was he just avlaible after falling out with Rafa and SG said I'll take that experienced , well know LB and that will work. From my point of view if you have a system with Full backs bombing forward then need to be pacy and have some ability to go past a player , Digne does not .He can certainly cross but that's not enough with how we play. Poch is certainly an upgrade on SG but you see things like why would he come to us ? It's 4 years since he left Spurs , where he didn't win anything he came 2nd in the league cup , the league and Champs league .Did one season at PSG and was booted out.For us that's a solid record but for the so called big clubs are they all that interested in him ? I would counter he needs a club to rebuild himself as much we need a solid manager who has basics like tactics .

I'm sure ( should we sack SG) the 2-3 year contract we have to pay him off will keep his heating on this winter..and as he just joined he won't reflect on him at all.

We could of spent zero this Summer and we still should be able to manage more than a bobbled shot on target against Bournmouth who are clearly rubbish .Also maybe we haven't spend much as we allowed him Money for the Jan spend as well as wages . If this was 20 games or so in and we were hovering around 10th and not able to compete for a Euro place then yes lack of quality player's is justifiable and not on SG.Only beating 3 teams in 15 games 2 of them relegated now is not good enough. I'll accept the squad isn't good enough for top 6-8 but it shouldn't be near the bottom 3 .

Well he signed Carlos ,Digne , Coutinho and Kamara who started against Bournmouth and we lost ..are we staying all starting 11 need to be his players before he is judged ?

Whose fault is it that Digne defending at times is horrific ..Digne or the manager who wanted him and had us pay 25mil plus and high wages .. Ings has scored every team he has been at and Watkins has got into double figures in the league , how many chances are they missing ? Pace ..Bailey who rarely plays as the manager prefers to have his full backs create the width. Who can stay on ball like Jack ? I assume that what was what he brought in Coutinho to do ..

Started season aiming for Europe , so I don't think getting a result against one of the few teams below us is going to be enough. I don't think we will beat City or Arsenal but worse I suspect one or both is going to batter us inflicting more of a confidence hit on a team that looks all over the place as it is . We have been here so many times as Villa fans there is no coming back for SG at this point

He isn't a deep sitting MF and the system we are playing stops him being close enough to the opposition box to score or create. Ramsey has also fallen off the cliff being played on the left as well.Being made captain has clearly not helped his game either.

Was one of best players in preseason , turned the game against United. Has done ok when starting but SG instance on trying to get Coutinho in team is leaving both Leon and Emi b sidelined , no wonder he wants out.Butler loves the attention clearly but he isn't wrong here and I bet others feel the same.
