  1. Likewise after x2 tickets at face value for tomorrow - please pm
  2. There's no 'increase' in form needed.. in their last 6 games Bolton have won 3, drawn 1 & lost 2... if you were to repeat that over the next 6 (albeit 5 left) they would stay up. Bolton also don't do 'draws' - yes they drew this weekend but that was only their 3rd this season. Bolton have won more games than us and if they keep that up they will get more points... IF Bolton beat us I firmly believe they'll stay up.
  3. A few things for people slating my Bolton predictions: - They have 5 games left, 15 pts to play for - 2 games in hand which is psychologically massive - All winnable games for them on paper when the urgency of a relegation scrap is taken into account - their last 6 games they have taken 10pts, so 11 from their next 5 games isn't that unfeasible during the final push - out of all teams I was probably most generous to them, but even if you swap one of the wins for a loss they'd still be above us in that prediction table!! So they only need 2 wins + 2 draws, or 3 wins from 5.... They could easily beat us, stoke and WBA for instance. Especially if one of those games they get a visit from Mr Muamba to give them a pep talk prior... Lose against Bolton and it's not them we'll scrapping with I fear, but us vs QPR for that final spot.
  4. Just done the predictor thing like many others in here but what is alarming is that even a point against Bolton might not be enough... I had us to stay up on goal difference by 1 goal at the expense of QPR, that is after predicting a loss to Bolton but a draw against WBA, with QPR only winning one game: 15 - Bolton 41 pts 16 - Wigan 39 pts 17 - Aston Villa 37 pts (-18 GD) 18 - QPR 37 pts (-19 GD) 19 - Blackburn 32 pts 20 - Wolves Now say we put the optimistic hat on and we get a point against Bolton AND Wba : 15 - Wigan 39 pts 16 - Bolton 39 pts 17 - Aston Villa 38 pts (-17 GD) 18 - QPR 37 pts (-19 GD) 19 - Blackburn 32 pts 20 - Wolves This scenario of two more draws would put us only one point above the drop, and to survive we'd be relying on QPR failing to get 1 point from Chelsea / Man City... (plus needing Goal differences not to change significantly between now and then). 2 points from our last 4 games is a realistic scenario in my opinion but even if QPR get only a point from their game at Stoke this would still leave us heading to Carrow Road on the final day with the possibility of going down. We've been there before and survived in 1995 on the last day haven't we? I'm not sure I'd be so confident this time around...
  5. Sack McLeish my Lord was loud and clear at Wigan away - could it hear on the radio listening at home.. shame that McLeish has escaped relatively unscathed since then. I think VP is a lot more friendly for two reasons: - The ones who want him out the most simply aren't attending anymore. - There is still an element of we can't criticise him because the media will taint us with the bluenose brush... the fact he's from blues has actually given him more time with fans.. fact! I doubt I'll set foot in Villa Park again until he's gone. The only thing that would encourage me back is a full scale protest against the man / against the board.
  6. Victor Chandler do the same offer which worked out nicely for me the other day but from what I can see they haven't got relegation odds at the minute...
  7. Football's dead to me. Knew the 'true fan' brigade would come out... It's called being a realist and seeing a chance for some money rather than throwing more away on a **** season ticket. Enjoy the apathy folks.
  8. Just placed £25 on us to go down with William Hill  It says it all that this is the first time in my life I have actually bet on us to be relegated. Stopped caring about Villa though so I may as well start using it for some cash if the worst happens - I generally bet against us in matches too now rather than for. If anyone else interested Will Hill and various others do the £25 free bet sign up bonus so if you use that free bet on something sensible you have a fair chance of getting your money back, and then if the worst happens some actual cash to soften the blow.
  9. Does anyone know anywhere with odds greater than 12/1 I've tried oddschecker but that is the best on there - wondered if there's typically any better priced sites not listed?
  10. The scarf thing could work with a piece of A4 pinned to the scarf too? Simply changing to Proud History - No Future... Those held up on mass and then dumped onto the pitch could work.
  11. Villa doing free coach travel for this. Fair **** play. Hopefully now we take the MAX allocation and it will be a day to remember win or lose.
  12. If people believe it will be Moyes then his odds are drifting so get involved. Coral have got him at 13/2 and do a £25 sign up bonus, so you can lump £50 on moyes for the cost of £25....
  13. I honestly don't think Mourinho is that far fetched. It's fact that he wants to return to England and the Man Utd job isn't free any time soon...neither is arsenal. Chelsea he won't go back to so the only really feasible clubs left are spurs and man city. If he was offered the Villa job with a sizeable wage (sticking issue) then I'm sure he'd consider it at least. Trouble is I cant see the board having the ambition to even think about approaching him let alone offering enough in terms of wages and transfer kitty. Sorry to pull you up mate, you're not the only guilty poster by any means, but I'm afraid to say that this post is typical of the sort of person who questions the ambition of the board whilst having a perception of reality that is based entirely on wishful thinking and is of no relevance to Aston Villa. If you think Mourinho would be interested in leaving Madrid to join the Villla, you're always going to be disappointed in the 'ambition' of the board, and probably the achievements of the club. Cloud cuckoo land. I'm not demanding we get him though and I'm not claiming that the board are failing if we dont...but i am asking why not try?? What is the harm of asking him if he's interested, the worst that can happen is he says no. If you think it's so unrealistic then let me ask you this...IF Aston Villa were to make him an offer or sound him out do you honestly believe he would dismiss it straight away / not consider it all..? Because I for one think he'd give it genuine consideration... This is a man who is expected to leave Madrid in the summer and this is a man who is known to want to return to England and who wants a club as a 'project'. I'm not unrealistic enough to say the board are failing if we appoint someone of less calibre than him, but FFS why not give it a go! I'll leave you with some quotes from Martin O'Neill's arrival at Villa Park...quotes that were the long term ambition for him and still are for me, despite everyone who demands that I be 'realistic': "I am well aware of the history of this football club. Trying to restore it to its days of former glory seems a long way away – but why not try? It is nearly 25 years since they won the European Cup but that is the dream."
