  1. I was in the trinity upper against Swansea 2 years ago( when we lost 2-0). View is very good, but a bit of a trek with the stairs. There was a few Swansea fans up there and they cheered and there was no aggro whatsoever. Having said that, this was the days of McLeish where everyone was depressed from the absolute doss of that season. This season I went to the Liverpool game with my mate who supports Liverpool, in the upper North Stand, he cheered when Liverpool scored and apart from someone calling him a 'tw*t' at the end, there was no problems there.
  2. Hull haven't lost a home game this year, so its not the end of the world. Its laughable that after a draw, people are claiming that 'we haven't progressed'.
  3. Hull (A), - Win Spurs (H) - Draw Everton (H) - Lose West Ham (A) - Draw Cardiff (H) - Win WBA (A) - Draw Sunderland (H) - Win 12 points
  4. That's because we're a counter attacking team. There is a big difference between counter attacking and playing long ball.
  5. I think we'll be fine. Remember we're without Gronk, Vareen and Amendola. 3 massive weapons and yet we still go into the Georgia Dome and put 30 up. That Kembrall Tompkins looks like a absolute baller, Edelman is solid, Sudfeld and Dobson(hoping he isn't oput for long) will come good and in Blount, Bolden and Ridley we have a good running game. We're improving with every game and Brady is clicking with more and more of our recievers. As for our Defence, it is finally coming big and in Aqib Talib we finally have an elite corner back to improve our secondary, which was a problem last year. Our linebacker core is gifted, the jury remains up front, I worry about how we'll cope without Vince. But I have every confidence Bill will get it sorted.
  6. Cannot understand why he doesn't start for us. He's the best ball winner we have.
  7. He's been on the up ever since the Bradford game I think. There is no doubt he is a better player and as I said before, I have no worrys about playing him at left back now. But Luna is better.
  8. And against all but one team this season prior to us they scraped a win by a single goal. Our Jan2013 form is coming early this season, City are going to wallop us. I just don't understand how anyone can find anything positive about this squad other than Benteke? We could go down this season, I am already thinking who is worse than us already. Yes but that was the premier league. This is the carling cup. I would imagine the Premier League encounter will be a lot more intense...and we'll, you know, actually play our best players for that game. As for our squad, Gabby Agbonlahor has looked very good at the start of the season, as has Delph and Guzan. Weimann is also a big threat. I think the dynamic duo of Gabby and Weimann can create a sufficient amount of chances for Kovac.
  9. So you are saying that Baker, Sylla, Bacuna, Tonev, Kozak, Albrighton and Bennett would be nowhere near our first team normally? Baker and Bennett played most of last season and Albrighton has been in the first team squad for years. Kozak, Sylla and Bacuna were all bought to supposedly strengthen the first team squad and there were others out there that have also been in and around the first team. It's not as if we played 8 academy players who will never see the light of day again! Wake up and smell the coffee, the players out there this evening are very much part of our 'First Team' like it or not! And its not as if we played some mediocre Premier League team. That Spurs team would finish 5th or 6th and could give anyone a hammering. If you saw the game you would realize that the scoreline flattered Spurs and we played alright. We didn't have important staters like Guzan, Delph, Gabby, Weimann and Benteke and we still remained competitive and on a different night would've got something out of that. There is no doubt that the likes of Kozac, Sylla and Bacuna will play a role. But they'll play a role with our most influential players in it. I cannot believe people are being so negative after a carling cup game. At the moment we're in 13th place had a good start to the season and it looks like we will not be in a relegation fight. Our home form will come. I have confidence in that. Lambert has done a fantastic job so far and long may it continue.
  10. Disagree with us being unlucky against LIverpool....you can level that against any one goal difference defeat...in boxing terms we were out pointed. You need to watch the game. I was at the game and I thought we did enough to get a point out of it. When we changed from 4-2-3-1 to 4-3-3 we looked a whole lot better.
  11. Brilliant attitude. well were you expecting us to? Maybe our first team can but not our reserves.
  12. Why is everyone over reacting? Spurs had 4 to 5 first teamers playing(Paulinho, Vertonghen, Sandro/Dembele and Walker) we had 3(Vlaar, KEA and Lowton). It was hardly surprising we got out played. The fact of the matter is, for the majority of the game we were competitive. We were never going to beat Spurs. They have one of the strongest squads in Europe. It was a good effort from our lads, we certainly didn't deserve to lose by 4. If we had been giving that penalty I reckon we would've taken them to extra time. Everyone just calm down, we've beaten Arsenal and Norwich this year, was unlucky against Chelsea and Liverpool and played poorly against Newcastle. We'll be fine this season
  13. I only watched the second half but I didn't think we were that bad. Good effort by our reserves to be fair. Its really nice to see Albrighton playing well again, also why doesn't Sylla start? Apart from that mistake for the fourth goal(when the game was lost) I thought he looked our best midfielder.
  14. He got an assist today. Good through ball as well
  15. I'd like to applaud Mr Hodgson for a completely tactically inept display. Why oh why oh why does he persist with Milner as a winger? Why bring Cleverley on as a winger when you have Townsend and Sterling on the bench and Gabby at home? Why is Young any where near the England team after a long injury lay off? Why did we only have 2 available strikers for that game? Why do we persist with the mediocre Cleverley when you have players like Henderson and Delph who are on much better form? We're a long ball team now and its pitiful. I have no idea why we don't just play counter attacking football with the players and pace we have available.
  16. Surely the Eagles are the most entertaining team in the NFL now. That first half performance was something to behold!!!!
  17. He needs a loan move now. Marc's game relies on confidence and maybe in the championship he'll get it back.
  18. Wish Bannan the best of luck. Hope Holloway brings the best out of him. On his day he's a joy to watch, unfortunately those days came few and far between.
  19. I use to follow my local club Histon FC(the village team that beat Leeds 1-0 in 2009). But haven't been for about 2 years.
  20. No. Out wide he was woeful, centrally he was slightly better but was below par. Her did a good job for us at right back though. Poor selection by Lambert, but he wasn't that bad. I'd give him a 5/10.
  21. Just got back. Thoughts on the game Lambert got the formation horribly wrong, why we played 4-4-1-1 is beyond me, especially when we've had so much success with 4-3-3. When Lambert changed it after 35 minutes, we looked much better and matched Liverpool for the rest of the game. Bacuna is not a winger. He played alright centrally but is worse than Sylla and El Ahmadi. Bacuna did a good job at right back and I see that as his best position truth be told. Thought we were unlucky not to get a result out of it, we definitely deserved a point from it. Despite looking sub standard and tired throughout. Ratings Guzan 6 - Had nothing to do, could do nothing about the goal. He was lucky not to give away a penalty Lowton 5 - Didn't have the best of games, looked a bit shaky at the back and was ineffective up front. However he did look tired Okore 7 - Was one of our best players. He looked a beast and looked solid all game. he left Guzan short with a back pass which should of led to a penalty, but apart from that, he didn't put a foot wrong the whole game. Vlaar 6 - Maybe his positioning wasn't the best for the goal, however that goal was more down to Sturridge's brilliance as oppose to poor defending. He looked solid enough. Luna 7 - Looked solid enough defensively and was a threat going forward. Bacuna 5 - Like I said before, the guy isn't a winger and he was below par in midfield. However he did a good job at right back. Westwood 5.5 - I think Westwood had a poor game today. He got over run in the first half and was wasteful in possession. He improved in the second half(when we played with 3 in midfield) but he wasn't as reliable as we've come to expect from him. Delph 7 - He's come on heaps and bounds. He looked our best midfielder. He won the ball made a few good bursting runs and gave us some much needed energy and bite. More of the same please. Weimann 6 - He looked tired but I think he played the best out of the front 3. Thought we should've taken Gabby off instead of him. Benteke 5.5 - Unlucky with his 2 shots that were saved from Mignolet. But his touch was poor today and his interplay just wasn't up to scratch. Gabby 5 - Poor game from Gabby today. He just didn't really get into it. got dispossessed far too many times for my liking and nothing was really coming off from him. He should've done better with the volley he scuffed wide as well. Subs El Ahmadi 6 - Meh. Gave us more stability when he came on. He did a better job than Bacuna did in midfield Tonev 5.5 - Looked a bit raw. Woeful free kick near the end as well. Helenius - N/A
  22. I am loving Delph for the sheer reason that he is making me eat my own words. It wasn't to long ago when I was convinced Delph had to leave and Bannan was the better option in our team. Oh how he's proved me wrong. Dlelph was nothing short of magnificent today and he made Ramires look ordinary at times today. He was an animal. He is fast becoming the player we all wanted him to be, I'd like to see a few goals from him this year, I think thats the next step up.
  23. We were desperately unlucky today. The first goal was a fluke and the second was allegedly offside, however I don't want to take anything away from that world class ball by Lampard. We deserved a result against Chelsea, we defended excellently and carved them open from time to time. That move which led to the Gabby chance was scintillating. It is a pleasure to watch this fearless Villa team play. The transformation from McLeish's toothless pathetic Villa to this one is astonishing. Also a special word for Fabian Delph who was excellent today. I was calling for his head at the middle of last season but he has really kicked on and is finally looking like the player we always wanted him to be. Looking ahead to Liverpool I think we need to include Sylla, just to give us that extra little bite. However I have a feeling Lambo will play a 4-2-3-1 and start Tonev.
  24. Unless he moves to Man Utd, Delph, along with Agbonlahor won't get a sniff in the England squad, regardless of how well they play :L
  25. I'd say that's a tad harsh possibly. He did play well at Reading then the other extreme was his game at Bradford. The real player lies somewhere in the middle of those 2 performances. I thought Bannan was one of our better players against Bradford, we lost our shape when he went off. His worst game was Liverpool.
