  1. Well this is awkward - and surely not connected in any way....
  2. I don't mean how the business is done. I just mean the price that'll be put on the player if the football world considers us a 'big' club.
  3. I think we only got away with this price because nobody was taking us seriously. The way we're going we'll get stung for Chelsea prices if we spot any others in the championship.
  4. I think he's filling some of the Buendia hole. I thought that about him when I saw his highlight reel. Without Ramsey we've had no reel driver and his quick passing reminds me of Buendia.
  5. I had no faith in us getting a result. Just too many silly goals going in lately and they are on a great run of form and it's at their place. Would have been delighted to come away with a point. I love being wrong like this. Amazing performance. And to think we were without Dougie-I feel he would have stifled Youri today who was excellent. Rogers had a whiff of Buendia about him-very forward thinking from midfield and we've been lacking that I think. Great performances across the board. No smash and grab-it was a well deserved win. Let's hope this has unlocked something in us and we can show some consistent quality for the rest of the season. It should give us confidence in beating a team that doesn't conceded many and scores a lot. To the fans who traveled - hats off - congrats on being there for such great day!
  6. So what's the theory on why we looked so good in these 2 games and Emery completely out coached his opponent in both of them. Is it that neither of them gave us any respect and just thought they could roll us-so they had no plans in place to contain us? Or is it just that the Emery master plan works against the shape of these 2 teams? I ask because let's be honest it doesn't always go this well.
  7. This remark about the experience of the players at this level I think is key. Lots of focus on the injuries but even with everyone fit, we have a squad that was primarily built for consolidating our Premiership status-not trying to break into the top 6. It wasn't a squad that has been coached by elite coaches either on the whole. Teams in our position are usually well off clubs who have attracted expensive players with the likelihood of CL football-teams that have competed for these top 6 positions for years. Emery inherited a squad that needed work and that work is still going on (developing what he has and adding to it) but I think it's worth noting that he is at a real disadvantage compared to those around us. But he has us competing at this level.
  8. Had a similar lower back pain issue and convinced myself that it was hip related (as in radiating pain) so was doing lots of hip stretches. Then stumbled upon stretches for those pelvis muscles and it's been a real game changer. I can squat deeper than I've ever been able to and just basic picking stuff up is much easier. And of course that horrible pain has gone.
  9. Here too if anyone wants it - https://footyfull.com/premier-league/crystal-palace-vs-aston-villa-27-11-2021/
  10. Yes I loved that - so many teams do that hoof from a kick off. I think I'm also right in saying the long throws are out now - bit too Stoke for my liking.
  11. Well worth looking back to see how people felt about DS.
  12. Yeah I think Ollie is way too desperate to score - needs way more composure.
  13. Was there a few days ago! Apparently he started doing cream pies during covid in his kitchen and now does cream pies full time because there were a lot of people who wanted a cream pie. In all seriousness a really nice pie if you're near Hamilton.
  14. Had a long winded conversation/ argument with someone on twitter about this - this guy was talking about 60 plus games that KD has played but as you say a lot of those games are nowhere near 90 minutes. His game time adds up to about 28 first team games - since the 16/17 season that is - made up of sub appearances on the whole.
  15. These stats show that Tammy has had at least 37 'big chances' this season and missed 22 of them - in 2,221 minutes of game time. It's hard to judge KD on his 538 minutes and 3 chances missed in a team where none of the strikers are scoring. Some prats on social media claim that he hasn't scored for 42 games - and one of them tweeted the stat at Keinan. The reality is that there have been 42 games since he scored - but he only appeared in 23 of them - that's an average of 23 minutes per game. Our fans are slating him for not scoring in games where he didn't even set foot on the pitch. Lovely... https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/big_chance_missed
  16. We've mastered the art of anti-football. There seems to be no intention in the team.
  17. I'm just bored of us not competing since Lambert came. Something is wrong when no matter who the players are and no matter who the manager is, we play this seemingly clueless brand of football where our attacks are just chaos. There seems to be no plan. Every team we play against out-thinks us. I have no interest in this sport but for my emotional attachment to this team. So I'm close to giving up on this sport because there is no way I can follow another team.
  18. After the string of managers that have produced a similar level of football, you still think the manager is the issue? With all due respect.
  19. The feeling seems to be that Gestede and a few others are just bad players. I really don't see that we can judge any of our players based on last season. I'm hoping that RDM can show us what some of these players are truly capable of. I'm thinking that they were badly managed rather than lacking ability.
  20. How do professional players suddenly forget how to play? You take 11 strangers and they still know the purpose of the game. Our players don't seem to have any desire to score a goal. Our attacks are so ineffectual that the defense is under pressure for 90 minutes - no surprise that mistakes happen. If these players had been as bad as they look now how did they get here? Micah Richards and Lescott - were they this bad before they came here? I don't think so. And look at Lambert - a good manager before he came to us - seemingly awful with us - now he's moved on and is a good manager again. If this were a boxing match you'd be certain that we were throwing the fight.
  21. Wasn't it MON who wanted Gaby to bulk up? The bulk slowed him down in every sense.
  22. In 40 years I've never felt like this about this team. They'll be my team forever but there is nothing I like about this club right now. I'd rather be in the lower leagues. The 'top flight' is a money game now and we haven't handled it well. All the pride has gone and we have 'fans' who chose us with a remote in their hand - when their 'til I die' team got relegated. Fans just sing the same tune as Sky saying it's the best league in the world. If that means having players who you don't have time to endear yourself to and call a hero, what's the point? Give me a club with players and an owner who appreciate the history of this club.
