  1. I noticed it quite a few times during the game, he seems to drop behind opposition players instead of moving into space for a pass. This caused us to go long quite a few times from defence, especially the first half in particular. I thought his on the ball play looks very promising but to link the midfield together and get Jack and John involved more he will have to move about off the ball to make himself available. The one time he did get into a lovey position he put it top corner, so more of that would be lovey.
  2. So no one seen his awful off the ball positioning and hiding from getting the ball all game long? On the ball he looks ok. But off the ball if you watch that game from 0-90 and watch how often he hides behind an opposition player, not being available for a pass is massive reason our midfield play was awful today. Has a decent shot but needs to work on off the ball movement.
  3. No, he wasn’t. I’m not saying he wasn’t at fault for the goal though. He made a shocking error, but he can not play on our left side of defence. He completely changes and cannot use his left foot to defend, so tends to shape his body incorrectly all the time to try to use his right foot. He is not good on the left side, but no question about it he’s the best defender at the club when he’s played on the right side.
  4. No one going to mention he’s been shoe horned out of position from Right Centre Back to Left Centre Back? (where he clearly isn’t comfortable) every time Tuanzebe is in the team? Every time he plays on the right side he’s our best defender by miles, if he has to play on the left side we mightaswell use a youth player instead.
  5. This is the most pathetic comment I've seen on this forum. You CLEARLY don't go to watch the games. Hogan wasn't a threat in any way, shape or form. Davis was constantly setting up team mates and creating chances, Hogan NEVER does anything to help the team. He never drops deep to collect and pass off. All Hogan does is try to run in behind when any of our players is about to pass, even when theres 5-10 yards of space betweeen the back line and keeper. He also swung and missed an absolute sitter from a great cross, he is awful and doesn't benefit the team in any single way. Having Hogan on the pitch is basically like playing a man down. He only scored goals against Wigans reserve team NOT main team, which is probably league 2 standard.
  6. I don't know if any one else noticed, but he took corners on both sides of the pitch... with different feet! Very handy to have a both footed player on the pitch.
  7. I wish Lambert would sign Mirallas from Everton...
  8. These kits are really growing on me, but so much for slim fit eh? The arms look really baggy again.
  9. You are so stat based it is a joke, clearly do not watch the games. Here's a stat for you, Newcastle 2-1 Aston Villa. No its not only Bannan to blame but he is one of the reasons. His decision making is absolutley discusting, he cannot play anywhere in our midfield, we get very badly overrun with him playing. You can hide behind your stats all you like but Bannan is nowhere near as good as these stats make him look, all you have to do is watch him play to see how awful he is.
  10. I'm not blaming him for the result in any way shape or form, I'm stating he clearly is not upto the task of playing CM. He was absolute dire all game even when the lads picked up second half, he is just not good enough to play in the Aston Villa midfield.
  11. Why are you so obsessed with stats?Stats mean sweet FA at the end of the day, his performance was absolute shit, the reason so many of his "accurate long passes" count, is because of the effort of our players to keep the ball from going out of play! Great example being weiman having to run back about 10-15 yards to get the ball that was so far behind him. You are deluded my friend.
  12. All you defending Bannan clearly do not watch the games, Bannan is an AWFUL centre midfielder. He passed a 10 yard ball to baker IN THE AIR. Why? To get his "amazing long pass stats" up to a high, absolutley useless in the middle should never play CM ever again, only position I can ever see him being useful, is the CF behind the striker role. Please use Chris Herd, KEA, Delph over Wee Barry ANYDAY.
  13. Bannan is a good passer of the ball, every now and again he'll produce a quality set piece too. (Shame nobody on our team can aim a header!) BUT he just can't be a CM. I'd say Bannan would play well in the CF role without defensive jobs on his mind. Putting him at CM is causing us to be badly overrun in the middle of the park. If we can't fit him in the CF role, use him as a substitute as a CF. NOT for a CM job.
  14. I've come to believe that we aren't going to buy ANY players, so I think we need to get a few loans in to secure our prem status. Few suggestions: CB - Dawson? LB/RB - Olsson? CDM - Mulumbu? CAM - De Bruyne/ Marin/ Defour? ST - Guidetti? LW/RW - A.Young/ Sinclair/ N.Dyer? Possibly not another ST, but I definitely think we need a CB & CDM/ CAM.
  15. KEA does have quality, he just hasn't been able to adjust to the prem as quick as Benteke. We need to be playing him when we get him back, hes much better compared to our current mids. Delph seems to have improved alot lately, I would partner KEA with Delph or Westwood & it could be a tidy combo. As long as Bannan doesn't play at CM.
