Felt like being on VT reading some comments

To be fair to us all, thats a fall out from supporting Villa for past 15 years.  Its a self coping mechanism so as to not get to disappointed when we get let down.  Which lets face it, has happened consistently.  Takes time to build up confidence again and we are talking years. It was just one knock after the other.

If there is such a thing as football PTSD, 90% of us probably have it

I think Spurs will need to get at least two points out of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and City - which isn't at all impossible, but isn't easy either - I think between them, those four sides will make sure Spurs goals difference takes a hit and we'll be okay if we're level on points.

If we can get to 70, I think that would be very difficult for Spurs to overtake.

I could see Spurs getting 4pts out of those 4 games.  A win and a draw isn’t unrealistic, especially 2 at home.  They will get 6pts from other 2 games.  That leaves them on 70.  Hopefully they get hammered in one of those 4

67 points could be enough for 4th. I think 70 definitely will be.

Beating Bournemouth at the weekend would be a big step in the right direction and might make everything feel a little easier.

I would nearly guarantee us getting 70pts at least in our remaining 5 games.  7pts.  Will that be enough for 4th?  I wouldn’t be as confident

Would you rather watch Real Madrid at Villa Park, or see Aston Villa lift a trophy is the more accurate analysis.

You go for the former, I'd rather the latter.

Yup 👍 💯 were we stand 😂. Ive saw us win a trophy so might sway my thinking abit.

That's because of the money at the top end of the game meaning sides are able to assemble squads that can compete, comfortably, across multiple competitions.  We're one of those clubs currently within the Europa Conference League.  That's why it's not as good...

...but seemingly you're also a fan of that because of the drive to win 4th place?  I don't get it.

Yeah i guess i am then based on your analysis. Would i rather watch Real Madrid at villa park than Bury?  Absolutely.

    God, how depressing.

Given I was a child, my feelings toward it were probably heightened - but winning the League Cup back in 1994 and 1996 was amazing.  I'd long for us to win something again rather than a qualification for a competition we'd likely do nothing in.  It makes no sense (to me) because the aim of football is surely to win, not to get the most money.

They’ve devalued it so much.  Removing replays etc.  Was always good for upsets and that got people interested.  Never happens now.

Sold into the hype of THE GREATEST LEAGUE IN THE WORLD because beating a little old French side isn't anything.  But the MIGHT of Arsenal?  WOAH!

No it wasn’t that.  It was 4th to get CL.  I don’t really care about a 3rd rate euro cup if im being honest.  And i hate FA cup as well.

Totally get those that would rather have the conference over top 4 but it reminds me a bit of the Stanford Marshmallow experiment.

I’m happy to hold off celebrating a conference league for future success.

But we’ll do both anyway so it doesn’t matter.

I don’t.  Makes not sense to me.  Need to look at bigger picture 3-4 years down line.  I personally was going mental with my lad when we scored against Arsenal.  Cant see i got off the chair for lille goals

Before games people sometimes debate trying to say x team has an advantage over y team because they had a game mid- week/extra days rest etc but I don't usually buy it much.

Seen plenty of times where Villa have played against a team who had Europe mid-week yet when the game comes the other team looks fresh and we looked knackered. Arsenal had 2 days extra rest last week yet second half they looked tired and we played like we had a full weeks rest.

Not convinced this 2 week break is good for Spurs tbh.

They destroyed us with it.  We were wrecked before halftime

He’s on my list as there is no way we could sell mings and I feel a club like us can only have one older centre back in its group of 4.

i think we should be able to get his book value back which is 15m euros

At Mings age, with his injury, he will have a long way back to get close to his best.

The addition of four new directors to the Aston Villa board has been confirmed days after a key agreement was cemented.

Over the weekend it was confirmed that the deal between V Sports, the Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens firm that owns Villa, and American investment firm Atairos had been completed, with Atairos taking a minority position in V Sports.

    new investment deal it was
