  1. Sherwood and do a halftime talk. We haven't seen a manager do that in a while
  2. I've been a Lambert supporter until tonight. I think he's been dealt a lemon and is less culpable than Lerner. However, I think the only thing that will save us now is the temporary 'bounce' you can get from having a new man come in with different coaching techniques. Doesn't always happen but it might be the only thing to get the players firing again. Shame.
  3. AVB didn't have much to do with Spurs acquisitions last year (Lamela, Erikson et al), despite being manager. That's not to say the rumours about Newcastle aren't absolute poo. They probably are, just like the rest of the rumours on this thread.
  4. Haha Hull. Look how many chances QPR have created....and look how prolific Austin is....and look where QPR are in the table. Its about balance, and we're halfway there with a relatively good defence. We're not far off being a decent side gentleman, believe it or not.
  5. I believe it is Ade Akinfenwa, clicky , he's rather large. EDIT: I hope it's him, as if there's two and they ever meet the world will end. Classic Wiki link and quote: "In September 2014 he was invited to attend the launch party for FIFA 15 alongside various celebrities and Premier League players such as Rio Ferdinand, George Groves and Lethal Bizzle." I have no idea who he is, but I would like to sign 'Lethal Bizzle' this transfer window. Lethal BIzzle is a grime artist and cousin of Emmanuel Frimpong. Sign him up, he can't be worse than Gabby or Andi, whose goal scoring records are grime.
  6. Would help Lambert Makepeace with the boo boys. I cant imagine Dempsey would want to do that. No reason for him to do it. Don't worry Stan I got the pun
  7. http://tinyurl.com/ouqsegs a "strong team"?? "an important club"?? Bless him. What else could he say? I just hope he pokes that thorn up Tekkers backside and gets him scoring.
  8. Lambert knows we need a creative player. He's said it time and time again. He's also said most of them want too much money. When we played Stoke he mentioned that he tried to sign Tadic last year but he wanted too much. That's the problem. Its not like the Lambert doesn't realise what we need. Our only hope is that the scouting network finds a creative player that isn't on another club's wishlist, like when we found Benteke.
  9. That puts us above the relegation zone on goal difference only.
  10. Lambert is going to sign a decent winger in a million years, and even if he did, where would he play? On the wing?
  11. He couldn't be any worse that Gabby.
  12. Would he be behind Barry Bannan in the Scottish midfield pecking order by any chance?
  13. Wasn't there an article with him saying he wanted to stay here forever or something too? If there was it was a crock of shit.
  14. Don't think I've ever looked forward to a game less than this one. Ever. Really wish we had Hutton to rough up Downing and Tekkers to bully the Ginger Ninja.
  15. Oh! That was incredible! Off to watch that now One of my favourite ever Villa moments. And one of my biggest regrets that I was watching that at home, on my own, and not in a pub or at the ground where I could have gone mental. I was sitting on the toilet having a poo whilst refreshing my sky sports app on my phone. True story. Could believe it when the score refreshed.
  16. Not massively disappointed he does not see his future at the club. It's understandable. Massively disappointed we won't be getting a fee for him though. That's a massive pile of poo poo and wee wee.
  17. He was a 'star' at Wigan, which is why we bought him in the first place. However he is just to inconsistent for me, and when he was at Newcastle Joe Kinnear used to lye awake at night worrying about it. Don't worry I got the pun. Very good.
  18. Just stumbled on this thread. I can't help but feel its a bit reactionary. If Tekkers hadn't been sent off we'd have probably won and have 13 points on the board, same as United. As it happens, Tekkers gets sent off through no fault of Lambert's and it's doom and gloom. We've had a really bad run of fixtures, that's all. This team is capable of pushing on and attaining a decent mid-table position. I am firmly in the Lambert staying camp because I really don't think anyone could do a better job in the circumstances.
  19. Ah, I see, fair enough. The problem I have with that is that deciding who you do and do not believe is completely subjective and differs from person to person. I just wouldn't be comfortable personally with conclusively labelling someone of something like this based on such a premise. Me neither. Especially considering Tonev's first language isn't English and for that reason he may not have come over very well when giving evidence.
  20. The standard of proof in the criminal court is "beyond reasonable doubt". So one person's word against another in those circumstances is usually (but not always) not enough. In civil courts cases are decided "on the balance of probabilities", i.e. more likely than not.
  21. It would undoubtedly be funny (for everyone else) but the players confidence is low and it would just make everything a lot worse.
  22. Not necessarily. I'm an employment lawyer and have handled many race/sex discrimination claims in the Tribunal. A large proportion of them involve 'he said / she said' arguments and the role of the tribunal is to decide which person should be believed. A case will not be rejected just because the only two witnesses to the comment were the alleged perpetrator and the alleged victim. The SFA obviously weren't impressed with the way Tonev gave evidence in comparison to Logan. Given that Tonev's English may be limited he was probably at a disadvantage from the outset.
