  1. No indication of what stage we are at, but Nixon just replied to my question asking as much with he follows: Alan Nixon ‏@reluctantnicko 16m16 minutes ago @pl6pilgrim Its a multi million deal. All details have to be right. Plus approval from Football League. Needs to be right.
  2. Think, with a 2 week break now due to internationals, we will still be negotiating with Berbatov in an attempt to sign him before the Leicester game.
  3. Berbatov is a free agent, so we "could" technically sign him after today.
  4. Am I right in saying that even if this is the case, Spurs need to release him from his contract today. He can only sign for a team outside of the transfer window if he is "unattached" when the window closes. Why would Spurs pay his contract out using their own cash, allowing him to join a competitor for free, receiving nothing while paying him a years salary... Can't see Levy being that generous... They'd be better served letting him train with the youth team all season if he doesn't want to join us on loan. I'm not saying he will. Moose from Talksport indicates thats the only way Ade will join West Ham as they have used all their loans.
  5. Only for football league clubs to make signings. Premier League loan and permanent window closes today. Charlie Austin staying at QPR.

  7. I guess we will have a greater indication of us signing a striker by the end of today, with the German window closing today and Mainz supposedly after Kozak. If he leaves, I trust Tim to have a deal lined up for tomorrow.
  8. Hopefully we see Randy appoint a new chairman shortly! Not that I'm saying Tim is leading the journo's on a little game, but his comments aren't exactly a full proof confirmation the deal is off. Lots of "may be" and "I think" and "I'm not sure". i personally think that he seemed more confident that this when he took out his little wager with Pete Colley at the back end of last season. Now, where are the rest of my straws...
  9. I'll trust Richard over James Nursey
  10. Given Nursey and Lambert are BFFs, I would argue there is definitely some truth in this. I would also imagine that MOST players at clubs like ours have clauses if a Champions league club comes calling. The only surprise for me would be how low the clause seems to be.
  11. Pretty sure its not as clear cut as James Nursey is making out. Jonny Gould tweeted only a few days ago that TS had indicated he would possibly sell Delph for £12m plus Borini and Ibe on loan. Now Nursey seems to imply a buyout clause even lower? I would put more money on Delph having a £10m release clause that would only be activated in we were relegated. Not worried about this one. Lets not forget Nursey's Villa news is/was driven by a man who was sacked by the club.
  12. I would imagine someone like Tottenham have enquired, but TS has chanced his arm and said £12M plus a player (Townsend for example) in the knowledge that it's unlikely that it'll happen. JG is usually relatively accurate and don't forget he said 'WOULD' sell for. Suggests to me someone has enquired, and this was TS's response.
  13. I am of the opinion that Kismet has been a bit naive. Saying CB will do 'Everything legal to leave the club', when Kismet agreed to the buyout clause in the contract? For me the only legal thing Villa should do is stick by their guns and say to Kismet, he can legally leave this club is someone meets the buyout clause he agreed to in the first place. I can't see anyone paying £32.5m for him, and think he 'could' sign a new deal by the end of July regardless of what Sky say, dependant on takeover and other signings.
  14. Robertson is viewed as a defensive liability by Hull fans. He'll fit in well here then.
  15. I can't see him going. Maybe in January. The way I see it, I can't see anyone paying the release fee, apart from Chelsea if Costa gets his (rumoured) way and returns to Spain. Kismet, in that prank call, stated CB would do anything legally to leave Villa for a bigger club, but lets not forget Kismet was the one who agreed to a £32.5m release clause in his contract. This would surely be the "legal" release from contract and is only relevant if a suitor is willing to pay it. I can see him going in January for either his release clause if he starts the season on fire, or around £15-20m if he has an average start.
