Oh, I am definitely considering going to city centre during the non Villa match days. Once I get my bearings down and I know the train to get down there, it won't be an issue for me to go to and from the city centre on my open days. I don't drink so I am not thinking of hanging out in pubs late Friday and Saturday nights. I am curious if the trains travel back and forth from the city centre to the airport stops after any certain time of night. I just notice that when I was first considering flights to choose from that most of my departure ones out of Birmingham were early in the morning. This is why I feel like I prefer to at least stay near the airport.

thanks. I usually travel overseas once a year but this year, I hope to plan 2 overseas trips. This is my short trip. I don't usually like going through Newark but I am still considering my options. I prefer Atlanta as I use Delta quite often to go overseas but then again this is first time going to the UK where I wasn't going to London.

For a first time visit and having to fly back to the states early in the morning when I leave, I would rather be based close to the airport.

I am okay to pay a little although I am not one that cares about 5 star hotels. I did check out a few hotels right near the airport. I am basically my usual, never been somewhere, nervous first time visitor so just trying to get the ride to and from the match part down. I am sure by the 20th plus time I visit Villa Park that this might no longer be an issue.

Yeah, I will be in the Holte end. I will definitely hold onto that link. I will be staying Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night. Monday is up in the air but I am leaning to flying home on Monday.

Yeah, I am going to compare to some of the hotels a little closer to the airport. My other question and I know it is a somewhat dumb question, are there taxi's to be found outside Villa Park after a match. My cell phone won't work over there so I just want to know if it will be easy to get a taxi to travel back to the hotel after the match. I found this at the main website and wondered where is the security lodge at Villa Park: Booking: Taxis can be ordered post-match at the Security Lodge. Given the volume of traffic in the area it is not possible to pre-book in advance. Pick up point: Passengers will be collected on Witton Lane adjacent to the Security Lodge.

Today's results helped turn around my disappointment with Dortmund being unable to pull out a victory over the despised Blue Scum on Friday and having to settle for a draw when we had so many opportunities to win that match.

I will then just have to find my way over to Villa Park or anywhere else I might check out during the 4 nights over there. I am going to be over there for the May 22 match vs Liverpool. I saw them play 1860 Munich during my trip there this past September when I went to also see 2 Dortmund matches as well as seeing St. pauli play in cologne.

He played well. He couldn't have done anything on those goals tonight in my opinion.

I was always lucky that when someone tore my heart apart, she didn't hang out in same friendship groups so I wouldn't see her. I always recommend keeping busy with hobbies old or new ones.

How did the trips go as I am curious about future trips to Villa Park?

I am leaning towards flying to Birmingham from the States rather than flying to London and training up when I make my eventual first trip to attend a match at Villa Park. I am curious from the airport how do I get over to Aston. Is it by a short train or what is the most convenient way. I guess I am curious as I want to know how much time to plan for when heading back to the airport. Thanks 8)
