What they have to show for it is a club that’s worth more than they’ve put in. Business-wise they’ve done well, and as football fans of a recently mid table Championship club so have we.

They have openly said almost exactly that. Needed to invest heavily in the beginning but the club has to become financially sustainable. That’s fair enough, it’s a business and they’re businessman not an oil wealth fund. That’s why there’s such investment in the academy.

You might want authentic Spanish food only but there’s an absolutely banging taco place called Tiki Taco, easily the best I’ve ever had including 3 weeks in Mexico. And they cost from €1 euro for fillings such as slow cooked veal. The margaritas are incredible too.

Security last Monday evening in brum was fine. Flight was delayed by 6 hours though after boarding and later unboarding the plane as there was a fault and they had to wait for an engineer to come from Stansted. Don’t know if that was Ryanair’s fault, or the plane manufacturer, or the airport. Ryanair did kindly distribute the legal minimum obligatory vouchers which paid for about 60% of some chips in the only bar that was still, and thankfully remained, open. Only consolation was the delay was so severe that krakow airport had reopened by 5-30-6am when we eventually landed, whereas if the flight left earlier we would have been diverted to at best Katowice which would have caused further delay to get home. Also will try to get compo.

Trying to enjoy the summer. Best time of year. Loads of people and food laying about in gardens to land on and have a nibble of. Love it. Then these people try to swat you and kick you out if you do manage to get inside a house for a while. Drives me insane.

I totally gave up chippys when living in Manchester. Pointless. Then I gave up everywhere that’s not battered chips. Just helps to almost guarantee a certain level. The amount of bad chippys, as you say, is almost unbelievable.
