    Saw Guy Whittingham play once. Thought he was going to be brilliant for us, turned out that he wasn't! Didn't we swap him with Sheff Wed for Ian Taylor? What a deal.

    Has he got some kind of hold over Lerner? The comments he's coming out with would usually get someone the sack. All this nonsense about being realistic is pathetic, if the Premiership has shown us anything this season, its that anybody can beat anybody! The team must be totally demoralised by the whole thing.

    The only change will be Lichaj in for Hutton. Personally i'd like to see Bannon in for Herd, Weimann in for Heskey, play 2 up top and attack Chelsea*. *won't happen, defence is the best form of defence and we will lose 3-0

    I can't understand why he bought on Baker at the end for Dunne. Surely with only 1 possible attack left in the game and losing 1-0, you chuck a striker on and try and get one last opportunity. Not send a defender on to preserve a 1-0 defeat!!!

    Really wish i'd never said ANYBODY apart from McLaren! I will support Villa through good and bad times, and it certainly looks like bad times ahead. It will be interesting to see what type of players he can attract this summer, i'm expecting average prem players and championship players. Cant see any massive signings.

    I'm not sure why everyone is getting so angry with the board. Everything we have heard so far are rumours. The only definate thing we know is that we have approached Wigan about Martinez, and we havnt contacted Schteve (although he might be saying that to save the embarrassment of being told we dont want him). Half of what we have heard is a load of made up rubbish that should be taken with a pinch of salt. We are doing everything behind closed doors and when they are ready to appoint somebody, they will tell us. Just let them get on with it.

    General I'm not gonna say who I want and who I dont want, I just want to say well done for the way you and the board are handling this. It sounds like we are going about our business the right way, rather than in the public eye. I feel proud to be a Villa supporter when I read journos saying how well we are conducting ourselves. On Martinez, although he may not be the 'big' name some fans want, i believe he will be a very good appointment.

    I'd be quite happy if we got Martinez. He's young, likes to play good football and, from what i've read, is very well thought of in football. I think it was only a matter of time before he left Wigan for a bigger club and i'm pleased its us. People say his record isnt great at Wigan, but its Wigan! Sir Alex would struggle to get them in the top half. I think with a bit of money, and the attack minded players we have, he will thrive. I'm looking forward to season to start. Plus, he might bring N'Zogbia with him!

    Prem Rumours is full of shit tbh, less credibillity than a Journo Yeah, looks like it. Looking back on his timeline it says Rafa is flying into England on Friday for face to face talks, but as far as I knew hes actually based in England at the moment.

    Why rush the appointment? The players are on holiday, theres very little transfer activity and the only issue at the moment is the Ashley Young situation. Randy will have told Young who we are talking to, so it will be up to him if he wants to hang around and see what happens.

    Reliable sources on other forums are saying the same as Mazrim. Hughes and McLaren have never been in the frame! I can relax now and let Randy take his time over it, knowing that its not going to be McLaren

    Honestly cannot see us appointing Schteve, the General always says that the board listens to the fans, and I dont think i've ever known such a huge majority of fans to be totally against a management appointment. Ideally, I would love Moyes to take over. I think he could do wonders with us if he had some cash. Dont know if its been mentioned, but how about Grayson? Ex-Villa, did a great job at Blackpool and doing well with Leeds. Has no premiership experiance, but neither did John Gregory! I'm basically clutching at straws here, hoping its anybody except McLaren.

    General Please pass my best wishes onto Gerard. Its unfortunate he had his health issues, as I genuinely think, given a full pre-season and a chance to get his own players in, that he would have turned things around. Only have one more thing to say, in case nobodys mentioned it yet - NOT Steve McLaren, please please not Steve McLaren. Anyone but Steve McLaren. Thank you

    Hi General Is there any chance we can get a players injury & suspension section on the official website. Other clubs do this and, if i remember correctly, so did Villa until the website got a makeover a couple of years ago. Its hard to find details of injurys and how long players will be out for (Andreas Weimann last season for example) so this could be quite a useful page. Thanks

    Not going to be popular but if Walker is injured, move L.Young to right back and bring back Warnock. Gives a better shape to the team plus experiance, which is vital in our position. Dont think for a minute it will happen but i'd love Warnock to be given another chance, he looked really good last season. Shame Houllier appears to be so stubborn.
