Anyone else finding they have an aversion to this picture? I’m developing a bit of a Pavlovian complex with it.

Should be a white flag of surrender at this stage.

So according to this we had to go cap in hand to Burnley to pay the wages from the cash they owed us from the Westwood deal and they pocketed some of it because they could.

Yea, I think that's fair enough if the shoe was on the other foot. If we were asking them to go against the contract we'd need to offer them a carrot.
I think Villa were desperate enough in this scenario and needed it so quickly.

  3. Interested how this debacle will change the "fit and proper person" criteria.
If companies based in other countries are taking ownership, the risk analysis should reflect the possibility that governments could embargo the movement of funds based on specific business genre.

If the premier league and football league have such powers they should start to clamp down on this nonsense.

  4. I would like to see some variation in the home shirt once in a while. I haven't bought the home shirt in years because the 82 shirt is practically the same. I'm not a tradionalist, some are I suppose.

  5. When we end up going for a new manager, I only hope the club have learned their lesson and do not base it solely on an "interview process"

I'd interview a secretary and ask for references, but with managers there is so much more statistical analysis, success measurement and style of play to be considered.

Sounds like the reason McLeish got the job in the first place because Martinez said no, and McLeish was as good at using Microsoft Powerpoint.

  6. I think, with respect, that there are too many reasons to support NOT going than going at the present moment.

Not long ago folks were paying a large sum of money towards their season tickets. Probably not much left in the old tank at the moment.

£550 quid is a real tough ask

  7. I wonder if the same people who are turning their backs on O'Neill now are the ones who cheered him through the doors of Villa Park.

We've improved under O'Neill, and if we trust in him, we'll improve again.

People are letting the market forces our club faces at the present time and a very rare result affect their judgement.

You don't know what you've got until its gone.

  8. Goalposts haven't stopped changing in the league since MON arrived.

A lot of other teams have got Billionaire owners.

Spurs had a poor season last year and were always going to threaten.

Everton had a bad start but are showing that they are all up for the party.

I don't see MON seeing a bigger challenge at Celtic with all the above going on.

He was a hero at Celtic, why go back now to a struggling league with a struggling Old Firm and ruin his legacy now?

He's started to assemble a squad and he has a job to do here.

    Simples ... eeek!

  9. I am utterly outraged today, however, I can't believe this thread has even been created.

No manager is safe from the consequences of a poor performance, but lets put this into perspective.

We've reached a cup final this year and we have a much improved side now than we did when Martin took charge.

This thread is the equivalent of touretts syndrome lads. Sleep on it before you create a thread like this i beg you.
