I honestly don’t think that we are ready for champions league football.. I wouldn’t mind us attempting to dominate the Europa League competition and try to qualify for UCL football that way.. The jump is too high for this squad.. 5th place and a trophy is an incredible season.

We have been over performing with these players which is okay.. But when it really matters you need to beat the teams around you and that is something that we are struggling with. These are the matches that a team needs to win to finish in the top 4.. We have a very long way to go to be consistent at a high level.

Honestly my opinion has changed on him.. To try and replicate what Pau can do is difficult. He is a trusted and reliable member of our squad and he has proved this. He is comfortable on the ball and has decent distribution. He brings balance to our defence and he is very versatile tactically! Last weekend he played alongside Pau on the right side & he held his own..

I dont think we will get top 4/5 because our players don’t have the level of mentality and experience to finish that strongly.. Mainly our defence is a big problem for me.. Carlos, Lenglet & Cash aren’t getting us Champions League football. If we were difficult to score against i would back us but our defence is weak against top 8/10 opposition..

This new regulation is to benefit the bigger name clubs.. It is in the PL's interest to have teams like Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool & City buying the big name players and winning UCL trophies.. Football is entertainment.. The PL is a product of this entertainment.. The PL wants to become its own Super League by attracting the biggest names.. It wouldn't surprise me if the teams above including Arsenal & Spurs have threatened to join the Super league if this new regulation is not discussed and voted.. Sadly I can see this becoming the new regulation.. Man City will probably avoid all the charges ect.. It all stinks.. This current regulation is a bore but it has enabled the smaller clubs to scout creatively, make large amounts of profit and be competetive knocking teams like Chelsea & United out of the water.. -
Also loses it during key moments that normally result in a goal for the opposition..

At the level that we are trying to compete in.. He is not that player for us unfortunately. He has done tremendous to make it as a PL player and can certainly play at a top 8 level.. but that is it..

Very very interesting.. He has been signed as a number 8.. Like a Ruben Loftus Cheek type of player.. To be fair Unai has always liked his 6’2 plus CM players like Capoue & Nzonzi.. Maybe he is trying to replicate something similar?
