    Ezri Konsa

It's a tough call with the quality of players we now have but Ezri Konsa is massive for us. Calm but committed, he can boot it out but can also bring it out and set us up. I think he has developed his leadership qualities now he is out of Tyrone's huge shadow and he is growing into Unai's perfect defender. I thought it showed when he went "mano a mano" with Antonio and won that, calm, confident and strong, when Antonio has been bouncing CB's in the Premier League for years now. Also playing calm confident close quarters with Cash by the corner flag and releasing the pass upfield that led to Leon's goal. What a time to be a Villa Fan.
  2. I don't think I would swop either of them for anyone else. They seem to be telepathic. Initially thought Boubs more defensively able and Dougie more attacking but yesterday Boubs showed more attacking capacity. We have a dual midfield pivot more capable than a Mortimer/Bremner combination to my mind. Does McGinn fulfil the Cowans role?
  3. I am really looking forward to seeing Moussa's 23/24 highlights video. He is already showing us some of his top skills from his current highlights video's. He has an innate talent and great work ethic that is unmatched by almost all. Already our next £100,000,000 + player. Thankfully, due to our excellent owners, we won't have to sell Moussa and can instead enjoy his skills tearing up the Premier League. Got to build a team around this guy and the core Unai is creating. I'm going from a state of "how the hell did we get him?" to "what are we going to achieve under Unai, our owners, coaches and wider team?" What a time to be a Villa Fan
  4. I counted 20 including the shot in 1 minute 7 seconds of possession.
  5. You can tell Unai is loving this signing - -just look at his left tit!!!
  6. I thought that Casemiro was the big differentiator for Man U today. I hope that Jacob learned a lot from that experience. With Casemiro all over Jacob and Emi 2 being very quiet meant that we didn't have the nous to create opportunities for Ollie to keep the run going. We stuck to Unai's plan and frustrated Man U for much of the game, defensively very impressive, considering how rapid Rashford and Sancho are. We didn't get in their faces as much as I thought we could, maybe due to energy levels with an unchanged team for 4 games on the trot. Unai has clearly demonstrated that we need active summer transfer activity, hopefully early on, so he has time to work his magic on building a 20 - 24 player squad that can all contribute. 7th looking risky now but thank you Unai for giving me hope for the future. It might all depend on the last game of the season to determine whether we or BHA finish 7th and qualify for European Conference. Who would have thought that after Slippy's last game at Fulham?
  7. I have enjoyed VT for many years and enjoyed the craic not so much the moaning but it takes all sorts for a forum to succeed. I know we had plenty to moan about. I am now motivated by what I saw yesterday to not just sit on the sidelines but to contribute to what I think is a new dawn in the history of the Villa... I am old enough to remember Division Three, the old Witton Stand through to having to watch the Rotterdam Dream at home (not having the Golden Ticket) and the roller coaster ever since. My youngest lads are Villa through and through and have no memories of our golden years, a few Wembley trips but not the heights those of my age have enjoyed. Promotion Year for them was awesome. I think that we have our best Manager ever in my humble opinion, today's game is so much more advanced and complex than in the days of the Ron's. I think I saw a huge and probably self satisfied smile on Mr Sawaris' face when we beat Nottingham Forest and I believe we have owners who are committed to the future of the Villa more than ever before again IMHO. I'm excited for my kids and the future of the Villa for them and their children as supporters of the Villa... I am amazed at what I saw yesterday in terms of team and each individuals level of performance, unbelievable and against a team at the height of their powers. Fair play Eddie Howe. I am so looking forward to what is next for Villa under Mr Unai's guidance. If Moreno is evidence of what he can do with £13m then throw the chequebook at him because he will only spend what he thinks is necessary and where could we be? In Unai and the directors I trust. The future is bright and it is claret and blue!
