  1. There's a lot of hype about Toney but he just hasn't shown enough since coming back, for me it has to be Kane that gets the spot as Ollie Watkins' understudy.

  2. well..... too disgusted by the outcome to say anything more ! football can be so cruel... good luck with the end of the season in C4 and especially in premier league and hopefull we'll meet again in Champions league next year !

  3. En route now, it's the first home game I've been to since Dean Smith's first Villa match against Swansea. My dad used to take me on the train a fair bit when I was younger, so I wanted to return the favour that day and take him. Hopefully we can get the same result (1-0). Unfortunately he passed away in January, so I feel a little emotional sat on the train, on my own, thinking about all the times he used to take me and now he's not here. Hopefully he's watching and can bring some good luck upon us! Hoping for a great atmosphere, and can't wait to see Villa Park again in all it's glory, been far too long. We got this! UTV

  4. 4 games to go in the premier league season. European football for next season already confirmed. Europa league at a minimum and Champions league qualification in our own hands. A European cup semi-final to come. I was optimistic coming into this season, but this is beyond belief. Regardless of what happens in the next 5 weeks, What a time to be a Villa fan. I’m beyond proud of this team.

  5. Shout out to Matty Cash… saved the game for us and stuck his pen away beautifully

  6. Villa have officially qualified for European Football next season after tonight's result with Chelsea unable to reach Villa's total and now 7th is at the very least guaranteed and yet still a month to go in the season. Absolutely incredible from Unai and the lads.

  7. He’s got the same number of goal involvements as KDB’s best ever season. Salah has only ever had one better season. Son and Fernandes have never had a season that good. He’s the player of the season.

  10. HUGE. Can't be overstated how big every win is for the remainder for the season, however it comes, but that was a brilliant performance with an absolutely trojan effort from a group of players you'd forgive for being absolutely exhausted given the game on Thursday. Rogers, Watkins, Emery, Tielemans, Torres - all brilliant. Brilliant all round really. What a season this is.

  11. With that defeat for Newcastle, that means Europa League football is confirmed as a minimum. Once again a brilliant achievement.

  17. This lad deserves so much credit… maybe as much as Emi…if you don’t shoot, you don’t score… players who’ve been criticised have really stepped up recently…

  18. Wes talks about us at the end of this segment (skip to 13:30) to see the sheer pride he has when asked about Villa. He said UTV with such a smile. What a guy.

  19. Slightly obscure as I doubt many will have even heard of them but a few months back my daughter went to a Mother Mother gig in London… posted a few pics on Facebook and a friend of ours who saw them rung us to say Ryan the lead singer from MM is doing a song writing workshop for our charity in Guildford tomorrow would she like to come along. so , daughter went along and helped write a song and then got to sing some backing vocals on the recording of it ( she can sing a bit so unlike me who would have been given a microphone that wasn’t plugged in , hers was recorded ) heard last night that it’s actually being released as a charity single by his management , so sadly although it won’t get air play and won’t chart , my daughter is now officially a recording artist

  20. Sorry, not a fun or lighthearted follow up to this, but I just need somewhere to vent. He was well enough to be discharged this week. Should have been a happy occasion of him finally getting to go home after 6 months in hospital, but his mum and dad have strung him along all week and then refused to have him back. This afternoon we noticed it was a bit busy, way more staff on than usual. Then his social worker came onto the ward flanked by 4 security members who pinned him down when he didn't want to leave and gave them a bit of lip, the nurses closed the curtains on all of the bays, and we just heard him screaming like a wounded animal as they dragged him away to go to some kind of care facility. Ok he was being difficult and trying to not go with them, but the kid is 5 foot and about 50kg and what he's done wrong is be a kid with nowhere to go, but they had 4 blokes restraining him and dragging him out the door like he was some convicted criminal They wouldn't even let us say goodbye to him. The place was pretty much deathly silent for the rest of the afternoon. I held it in on the ward, but **** me, I'm in bits tonight, it was absolutely barbaric. There's no punishment too severe for the scum that have abandoned him, I don't know how they can live with themselves tbh, how can you just abandon your kid. The really heartbreaking thing is when it wasn't just raw screams of fear and anger, he was calling for his mum

  23. Chelsea were never as good as the hype after their win over Everton suggested, but also they're not as bad as their defeat to Arsenal suggests. All we need to know is that on their day they can be decent, and as such we need to be wary, less talented teams than them have taken points of us If we're not at our best they're more than capable of beating us, but if we play as well as we can do then we will have an excellent chance

  24. Don't understand the clamour to get rid of Digne. He's essentially been pivotal in us having our best season in a long, long time and he and Moreno are probably the most like-for-like replacements we have in the entire squad.

  29. He was colossal today. It must be like defending against a terminator - his energy, the work he puts in is just phenomenal, he was winning balls in the 93rd minute today that he had no right to be getting at and he played 120 minutes just a couple of days ago, he just keeps coming at you, he's relentless. His pace, his strength, his willingness and desire and his ability to translate that into great hold up play, goalscoring and assists is unreal. Today was as complete a display of centre forward play as you will ever see, missing only the goal he very richly deserved. Big games at crucial times of the season need big characters and strong men and when you need him to, he steps up.

  30. I haven't been posting on here as much recently but I just wanted to say that the win at Arsenal was the kind of season-defining performance that you look back on when you've achieved something amazing at the end of the season. The players celebrating, the look of happiness and the belief they exuded convinced me completely that top 4 is ours now. The most recent thing for me was the Rotherham win during our win streak in the championship, and then that save from the first pen Steer made. They just stay with you those moments. Both the goals we scored Sunday live in my head rent free on repeat this week. I am enjoying this season so much and I have complete trust and faith that even if there's unforseen setbacks down the line, we're built to recover from them now. I love this current squad and manager, even the higher ups too. What a time to be alive as a Villa fan. I'm pumped for tonight and I can't wait for Sunday too, I'm looking forward to the transfer window. I'll be borderline emotional watching Mings back out on the grass next season. So much to look forward to. Everything is good.

  31. He's been quietly excellent of late in the league, today and vs Arsenal you wouldn't have noticed the absence of Luiz with how Tielemans played the role. Has proved to be a good signing after some silly abuse earlier in the season.

  32. A very close friend of mine was at the game last night and stayed in the same hotel as the club. He spent a fair bit of time with some very senior and very recognizable individuals at the club. I won’t name them as I think it’s unfair to do so. Key points relevant to this thread are: - Club is definitely NOT moving from VP. Plan is to stay at VP with significant development planned with big announcements over the next two years. - Box park space with 3k capacity is definitely happening. - Lower Ground and Terrace View were both green lit under Purslow. The comment made was “right idea but in the wrong place”. I trust the information 100 percent and sharing to hopefully put this thread at ease.
