  1. You've gotta love Elmo man. According to WhoScored he's had the most touches for us this half, with the nearest to him being a massive 24 off. Strolls in as back up right back and has everything go through him. Creative fulcrum. The king.

  2. There were spare Pfizer doses in Bromsgrove on Thursday and Friday so after invitation texts from their GP, my son (23) and daughter (21) had their first doses last Friday. I'll admit that in January, I really didn’t think that by mid May, me and the wife would have had both doses and our kids one dose each. A massive credit to the NHS and the volunteers who have made it possible.

  7. End of an era for me today, I have had this bet every match for than 20 years including cup games I must have spent £1,000 and its happened 4 times. This is the last time I'm putting it on, so here's hoping we now win 4:1 every game

  9. Disappointing, a game we could and probably should have won. Palace were always going to score goals against us - we're not great at defending a team that have players that can run at you and do the unexpected - they're a team that have a lot of weapons going forward. That said, with the amount of play we had going forward we should still have scored enough goals to win it. The game hinged on Roy Hodgson's tactical change where he pushed his midfielders forward to stop us playing out through Luiz - we never really looked comfortable after that and we couldn't hold on to the ball. Ramsey was bright and quick and McGinn did a lot of good things, but neither of them are particularly suited to a possession game and once we ceded possession it was really difficult - if you give Palace enough of the ball they have the weapons to beat anyone. We needed another two midfield options today - the highest of the three midfielders, the position in front of Luiz and McGinn, is becoming a problem; Barkley gives you no energy but the occasional bit of creativity, Ramsey gives you masses of energy but no end product - it's one we need to sort out. We also need to try to find a player who can come off the bench for John McGinn because he is regularly fading out of games after an hour - maybe Nakamba, maybe Sanson in future, but we need to look at it. I think our weaker areas were pretty clear and I think they can all be fixed in the summer - as a demonstration of those things there was a very useful lesson on offer to us. I thought Elmo and Hause did well, Martinez was excellent, Luiz was good, McGinn good for an hour and Watkins was very good, but we're not quite there in terms of squad depth of quality. Ultimately we lost the game because Roy Hodgson is a very good manager and Palace have individuals that can hurt you if you can't control the ball. I can't see us winning either of our last two, so it looks like it'll be eleventh - it's a good platform to take into the summer and I think there are areas we can make straightforward improvements in.

  10. Not gonna lie, that was shite. I genuinely don't understand why the management can't see what was happening on the pitch, we were losing every individual battle and nobody in a Villa shirt seemed to want the ball. That's unacceptable. This entire season has been ruined by apathy.

  13. Do some people have no loyalty or appreciation? Sickens me that some are desperate for us to sack Deano. We have gone from strength to strength with him at the helm, and he has worked wonders in such a short space of time in all honesty. There’s no doubt that he has overachieved really. We finally, FINALLY, have a good manager with the potential to improve and perform even better as he continues to gain PL experience and sign and coach better players. Like any manager, he has his flaws and makes mistakes - of course he does. But how much can he do/change when he’s working with what is honestly a poor squad? I’m sure we will keep improving and progressing as we continue to strengthen the team and squad. Some people simply have no patience and want a shortcut to success - it doesn’t work that way. There really is a fickleness in a section of our fanbase and I really don’t like it, I had hoped we had more integrity. Let’s back Dean all the way, he hasn’t let us down...

  15. If the owners are serious about significant progress then they need to be ruthless and get rid of Smith and replace him with a top quality manager.

  17. Luiz spent 40 minutes trying to cover 3 midfielders. Ramsay and McGinn both hold their man up, wait for him to lay the ball off and then just let him run straight past them into space. Doug can only cover so much ground.

  21. UTV. Hope I'm back in time for KO. It's our national day tomorrow and ofc. my gfs mum and dad are coming over. Why is that a problem you say? Well not a problem. Good people. But my gf goes into full meltdown and we (this involves me as well) have to clean the entire **** house. Everything. Like they are royalty or something. So instead of having a beer, watching football and moaning on VT. I now have to scrub a toilet and wash the oven (yes because apparently her parents will look into our **** oven). Anyway, rant over.

  22. It’s pretty funny really. The best attacking midfielder in South America getting linked to us is a statement in itself. No idea if it’s real or not and don’t really care. It’s exciting, it’s fun and hopefully an indication of the level we plan to do our shopping.

  23. We have an extra member of our household as of today. A brush coat Shar pei. She's finally relaxed had a sleep. After the last attempt at rehoming fell through. This one hasn't been smooth sailing either. After we saw her, she was booked in to be neutered, when they spotted some skin irritation and entroprian (eyelids turned inwards) both of which are common in the breed. They initially said she would need an operation (which they would do) and a course of treatment for her skin. We visited again today to find out what the situation was. They have decided that the eyelids aren't causing irritation but may or may not in the future but an operation is not necessary currently. Knowing that this now won't be covered by insurance if she does need an operation in the future, we had a think about it but decided to carry on with the adoption. We were allowed to come back later on in the day to collect her and she's now snoring away after a busy day. Oh and her farts are vile

  24. This thread just baffles me cause I'm fairly pleased with our season. I thought we'd end up some where around 15th place so dead midtable is fantastic for me. Obviously we could have done better the second half of the season, regardless or covid and Jack being injured. But we could also have lost a lot more the first half of the season. I think we got a very good place to build from now and I think our football is attacking and fun to watch most of the time. Not to mention the youths coming through look the business. I'm not new to the post match bitching from the usual suspects on here, but them to that. It's been a while since we finish our season and I feel we are a settled solid Premier League team, but we are. All aces in my book considering we were conceding 5 against Forest 3 years ago.

Imagine having so little going on in your life, that you go through the rigmarole of joining up another clubs fan forum, just to have a "laugh", and by laugh, I mean sat on your own on your PC/phone/tablet, looking like a bellend chuckling to yourself whilst your fat, disgusting pig of a wife just rolls her eyes at your for not wanting to watch Love Island.

  33. There should be absolutely no doubt that Jewish =/= Israel. The state of Israel itself isn’t half guilty of not making that distinction very clear, though. It not only identifies as a Jewish state but the Jewish state, and has created an apartheid system where one side of the (literal) fence is almost exclusively Jewish. Therefore, in the context of the conflict, talking about Jewish interests, as they are explicitly defined by the Israeli government, isn’t inherently anti-semitic. Talking about Jewish interests in almost any other context, very easily is. Context, as always, is everything.

  34. Playing football is like making love to a beautiful woman You’ve got to wait until there’s some grass on the pitch, then try and score, get your balls out, get into position and then shoot in the box.

  36. They’re 17 and 18 year old kids. How many other teams are playing 17 year olds in premier league games? Given the rush to write off Ramsey’s career on the back of a handful of appearances I can see why we’re not throwing a load of kids in. Might be better to get them some experience before fans are back though I suppose as we don’t appear to be the most patient fan base with our players or manager to be fair.

  42. The ref in our game shows how a ref can influence the game by being poor generally and not by making any huge wrong decisions. He singlehandedly let them kick us off the pitch in the 2nd half. Watkins was fouled 5/6 times with no foul; their guys get fouls for the same thing. 23 fouls 3 yellows **** off The standard is just unbelievably poor.
