  1. It does indeed, £1 million for us, and we pass on about £75,000 to Exeter, win, win for both clubs, keep getting picked and scoring Ollie and that will mean even more for us both, schooled and brought up by 2 clubs who know how to treat and bring on young players, and then polished up by Villa, all credit to 3 damn good clubs

  6. Nice £75,000 coming our way for his appearance off the bench yesterday, and a further £150,000 for Villa staying up. Cheers Villa & Brentford. Sir Oliver Watkins is going to be a national hero in a few years.

  7. Yes. Don't let the fact that the nightingale hospitals weren't used, trick you into believing the NHS was not overwhelmed.

  10. It's amazing the amount of times they reckon that about players and it's amazing how often it isn't true.

  15. Remember when flattening the curve was the objective, rather than sacrificing a year of ours lives seemingly with the goal of complete eradication of the virus? Cases have plummeted. Deaths have plummeted. We've vaccinated huge amounts of people. And instead of gradually opening up, and continuing the approach of more local restrictions where it's required, we're all just expected to continue to stay home because any small risk is now apparently too big of a risk. The cure became worse than the disease long ago, IMO.

  16. You know what, Chris, mate? They should bring back National Service mate. No, no, hear me out. The thing about old people today, Chris, is that they've grown feckless, complacent and idle thanks to their triple-locked pensions, their 'mobility issues' and their Michael Portillo documentaries that are on BBC 1 24 hours a day. But you know what Chris mate, it's nothing that a year of ten-hour, minimum-wage shifts at city centre Wetherspoons on Friday and Saturday nights wouldn't knock out of 'em.

  17. Travel restrictions within Wales scrapped as from midnight tonight. The number of people that can stand in your garden increased to 6. Self catering tourism and hotels open from tomorrow (in Wales for peeps living in Wales). It means a couple of legit family get togethers over the weekend. It extends massively the number of places i can go for a walk or a change of scenery.

  18. I couldn’t care less if the youngsters play from now until the end of the season. I trust Smith and the coaching team to know if they are ready or not and if they don’t feature it means they aren’t ready. What’s more important then a couple of youngsters getting some minutes is winning some games and finishing as high in the league as possible.

  19. Yes, people are worried about a disease that's killed 150,000 mothers and fathers, sons and daughters, sisters and brothers. And that's when we've been mainly locked down. If we'd have not locked down it would probably be a couple of million dead just in the UK.

  20. It's being reported on football insider Shockingly it's from an unknown source who says the corridors of power are unhappy, he's not as technical as we wanted and Smith is under fire because we let Hourihane go and Sanson isn't considered an upgrade I'd file it firmly under utter bollocks

  21. For the umpteenth time... that statistic totally misses the point. Which is that below that iceberg tip, there were thousands of sufferers who needed hospitalisation - which overwhelmed the hospitals and had a big knock-on effect on resources available for patients with other serious conditions. We can't just ignore it.

  26. As others have said in this thread, showing your medical history upon entry to any public place is all a bit dystopian to me. Also discriminatory against those who haven't had any chance to receive it yet, through no fault of their own, who are low risk and likely healthy.

  34. What they didn't tell you was there were no staff to run them! It's OK building shit like that but with all the qualified staff a bit busy in real hospitals... They were a pointless waste of money

  36. Jut did a full 20k for the first time in probably 10 years. Got in at 1h59m30sec, which is probably my fastest full 20k ever as well. I’ll never be super fast, but at least it’s a fair indication I probably don’t have covid

  37. We can't constantly live in fear of this virus and its mutations. People aren't living at the moment, they are purely existing. If what we are doing now is how our future is going to be, I might as well hang myself.

  38. This. If anyone has read my previous criticism of McGinn it was when he was playing too far forward, not getting on the ball and making things happen. At the start of this season, he dropped a bit deeper, but he was effective. NOW, I think he's dropped a bit too deep (as we have as a team imo), so he's become less effective - especially when he's trying to ping balls around like Pirlo, which he doesn't have in his locker, yet(?). I want him picking the ball from our defenders on the half-turn and making progress up the field, playing 1-2's and driving the team forward. We need players like McGinn to get close to Ollie, to help HIM out. Too often since Xmas have we been punting balls 30-40 yards to Ollie, who often does a decent job at bringing the ball down, but has no-one to play too, so can get crowded out. We've got to start "knitting" these ideas and players styles together, like we did at the start of the season. I keep saying it, but we've lost our dynamism. Look at the Liverpool game, we got on the front foot so often early doors it forced our opponents back. Our defence played a nice, high line (thanks to Konsa's/Cash's/Ming's pace), but our midfielder were getting close to the opponents 18 yard box, which traps opponents in their final 1/3 (unless you're Man City). We've completely lost that dynamism lately - maybe it's missing Jack for a few games? Maybe it's the monotony of playing in quiet stadiums and playing in the Prem again has meant the enthusiasm has worn off (which is a great shame considering how close we were to doing something special a few weeks ago)? It could be any number of things - but I know McGinn is a much better player than he's shown us for the last few weeks, I'm confident he'll get back there, I think a Prem goal would really help him at the moment. Nice little goal last night too! Keep working hard!

  42. But you don’t discuss. You ignore reasoned replies and just move on to the next smooth brain ‘alt’ comment. It’s nauseating and it’s clear you don’t ever want to discuss things, you just want to post your thinly veiled right wing bile. Without commenting on you yourself and strictly commenting on your actual posts then I’d say your posts are troll like and akin to bots on social media funded by right wing nut jobs.

  43. I like him. Instrumental in getting us promoted, may lack the quality for the Prem. But some of the personal comments like hes a coward are ridiculous. Instead of sitting on his arse, he left to play football, which is more than Gabby etc ever did.

  44. Never been a fan of Barkley, always thought of him as a front foot player, good when team dominating games, but poor when having to work. But not naive enough to think he wouldn’t improve us and help over the season.
