  3. My shirt will have RASHICA and then the number of pages of this thread until he signed so loads of people at Villa Park will wonder why some random bod has got RASCHICA 264 on his shirt whilst any VTers will give me a gentle nod, wink and slight tap of the nose

  4. I think the window is frustrating because the timings make no sense - normally we all understand that the window slams shut at the end of August and we have a feel for how that affects us getting deals over the line. This 27th July - 5th October window is just odd because of when the season starts and it's throwing me because I'd have thought there'd have been an urgency to get players in for pre-season, but that hasn't really happened anywhere. As a comparison, if the 5th October was where the 31st August is, today would be the 18th July. Or, if we go with the date of the end of the season, this season ended on the 26th July, 27 days ago - and last season ended on the 5th May - so if this was a normal season, in terms of number of days since the season ended, today would be the 1st June. Or, if we take the number of days between the end of the season and the end of the window, then in 2018-19 there were 118 days between the last day of the season and the end of the window and in 2019-20 there are 71 days. We're 27 days into that 71 day period - that's about 38%. If we take 38% of the 118 days in the normal window, we'd be about 45 days in, which would put us on around the 19th June. We signed Wesley on the 13th June last summer and Jota on the 5th June - we're a little behind that schedule. So, yeah, anyway I think there are two things we can take from this That in normal transfer window terms, it's currently somewhere between the 1st June and the 18th July and it's possible it might be the 19th June. That I am clearly incredibly bored.

  6. A few weeks back, whilst on a beach in Pembrokeshire, my wife wandered off for a while to find the right pebbles for something she wanted to make. She bought a glue gun online and when we got home she put this together. It’s supposed to represent me, her and our little boy.

  9. Christ, I will make this as clear as I possibly can. PLEASE READ THIS VERY CAREFULLY. PLEASE SHOW US THE DIRECT QUOTE FROM HIM OR HIS AGENT, BEGGING FOR A MOVE TO RBL. PLEASE THEN SHOW US THE QUOTE FROM HIM OR HIS AGENT STATING THAT HE IS DESPERATE FOR CL FOOTBALL. These are the things you have stated pretty much as fact. Please don't deny that, go read back your own posts. Don't link some woolley quote saying he is interested in playing CL football, nor anything that starts "it is reported that", not "xyz understands", or anything from the Birmingham Mail. We are asking you to provide something that categorically backs up the things you have said. The reason you are getting so much kickback is not because everyone believes he is coming here, but because you have come on, lambasting everyone for believing "sources", demanding proof and them making statements of fact yourself, including repeatedly stating that he has rejected us and then failing to back them up with anything that matches what you have said. As I said before, it is fine to state these things as your opinion, but the way you have been coming in as if you are the only one that knows anything and criticising everyone, and then doubling down on it, and then mentioning Trump (FFS!) has gotten everyone's backs up. If you don't like the speculation on here in this thread, don't post in it. It is really that simple.

  11. I’m sure yesterday that was translated in to he wants to play in Europe so Villa are not in the running. He’s a Kosovan International. He could play for Accrington Stanley and still be an international.

  12. One thing that is for sure, if he doesn't sign, this is the name by which all future will they/won't they sign transfers will be judged. Benni McCarthy and the like can go on a well earned retirement. Milot Rachica will be a name that echoes down the years of future transfer windows for a long, long time.

  18. Ah, but it's Greenpeace. They're biased so are bound to look for fake links... So what if Tate & Lyle sponsored the Tory conference in 2017. There's nothing wrong with that. OK, so Jeremy Hunt may have given a talk about the dangers of obesity whilst wearing one of the T&LS lanyards, at a fringe event, but he probably just forgot to take it off. It's a tangled web, isn't it?

  19. I'm not sure where you got the idea that good leadership requires shouting at people and swinging your dick around. A look at history might reveal the likes of Ferguson to be an outlier—sure it worked and it can obviously work too, but it's not the only way and certainly not the most commonly successful way. Dean comes across as an intelligent and pensive guy. Making strong, informed decisions might not give the instant impression that shouting at someone can, and sure having someone like Ferguson shout at you is going to make you really think, but good thinking and treating people with respect has been a decent long-term route to success forever. Having said that, football is surely an ego-driven world. I'm sure the truth isn't as simplistic either way round.

  20. OK so I've just skimmed about 20 pages, and I really don't get you mate, you seem to be under the impression that if he's not jumping through hoops straight away he'll be a terrible signing or something? We're all only speculating here (despite some desperate to be ITK), and our belief that he is or is not interested will make no difference whatsoever to the club negotiating. Its not like our guys are on their hands and knees begging him to sign and throwing money at him like it's a strip club to make it happen. If he is not interested then that'll be made clear and we'll move on pretty quickly. It seems fairly reasonable to assume i) there is some interest from our side ii) he is open to the idea of signing for us, but still has some hope that he can get in with RB so he can play CL football. There will be some sort of waiting game now until either he rejects us, he joins, or we pull the plug and move on to our 2nd/3rd/4th choice signings If he joins, the fact that he was interested in playing in the CL won't make any difference to his performances for us. If I heard that some obscure CL club were interested in me I'd put the feelers out as well, but if it turned out to be nothing it wouldn't affect my performances for the over 35s local team I'm starting with next season (although it would give me a great "I could have gone pro" story) If you're worried that posts in here means the Villa officials will be too busy to do anything else I think you may be surprised to hear its mostly just fans in here, so the club can still carry on despite our speculation, and if not, to be honest I think you're responsible for about 80% of the posts in the last 20 pages so mostly repeating the same thing so just tone it down a bit maybe we could still sign some other players? Other than that I'm really not sure why you're so vehemently anti speculation in a speculation thread about a player you've even said you'd like us to sign

  22. Soccer AM has influenced people to such a degree, I absolutely hate anything to do with football, outside of football. Bantz innit. If someone does something good, cover your mouth, open your eyes and scream "OooooooooooOooOoOoohhhhhhhh!!" Calling the top corners of goals "top bins", calling skills "tekkers". I just hope they all **** off and die.

  23. Reading that Deichstube article: The passage means that Villa is no option to him because no international football. Let me tell you this: Neither is Deichstube in general a reliable source to say that, nor is there any reference strengthening it. Personally I don`t see the move to Leipzig happening, so unless something else happens, staying or going to Villa are his only options.

  30. This is why having the "window" closed well after the start of the season is all wrong, it should be closed and locked down BEFORE a ball is kicked, as no team can be settled and ready to go with transfers still taking place, but that's just my take on it all.

  38. 1. We really shouldn't have though. Players have been back in training with their clubs for only a week. If we have that attitude then we will attract no one. 2. I don't see anywhere that the club are being held to ransom on this. Players have welfares and their families along with their careers to consider in any move to any team. 3. I disagree about his wages. I don't agree with writing the player off before he has arrived unless genuine reason to do so, but there we go. What you do say will be no different to when Benteke arrived with us. 4. I don't see why we should have signed anyone significant by now? It would be ideal for pre season sure, but not the end of the world if it doesn't materialise that way.
