  1. According to our website, there are now just 315 tickets left on sale for the Millwall game. That means we'll have sold every available ticket (home and away) for the last seven games of our season - I can't remember a better supported period in modern times. If we were to be promoted this season, I think next season could be a real scramble for tickets - especially with rumours of really good season ticket sales. There's an excitement around the place - I hope it produces a momentum that takes us through the playoffs.

  4. Exactly. There seems to be some kind of narrative that anything other than "the quadruple" will be a season of failure for Manchester City. This result probably makes a Premier League win more likely as it removes fixture congestion at the business end of things and they'll almost certainly beat Watford in the cup final. A domestic treble while playing scintillating football isn't a bad way to have a shit season.

  6. There's so, so much wrong with it. The unnecessary storage of inherently sensitive information Conditioning the population in to unthinkingly providing their identification documents to an industry with no lack of unscrupulous operators. This is an identity theft scandal waiting to happen. It literally doesn't solve the problem of vulnerable youngsters stumbling across pornography. It doesn't apply to sites that host some pornography, only where it's more than a third of pornography. So twitter, reddit, imgur, and other sites like that are completely exempt. Where are unsusp

  10. I'll take getting the correct call every time. It's just so obvious to me. There are *huge* decision in games with great consequence and we have the ability to get it right with little added effort. Will things be lost? Yeah, but that trade off is worth it for me.

  13. Im a bit like this. Love going to matches at the mo knowing we are likely to win. Those last 5 years in the PL were horrible, when you see drawing at home to West Ham as a good result. Oh and those inevitable 4-0 defeats to Tottenham. Christ. I want Villa to go up but only because of the financial pressure that we're under if not and that outside chance that we could do a Wolves. Also for the standing of the club and the fans from further afield that cant access the games so easily currently. Im far happier seeing us beat teams at this level. Just looking at the faces around me

  14. Maybe.....for myself I will be sorely tempted to stop going if we get promoted........I like it down here and haven’t missed anything about the Premier League. Not just us being always in contention for something - which is obviously a big Plus - but the fact that - virtually - every team is, and that anything can, and does happen regularly. Id be pleased for the Club, and all the fans who want to see the top sides at VP, but I can’t muster much enthusiasm for it myself. Edit - although it occurs to me I’ve already renewed so I’d better buck my ideas up lol ! !

  20. Spot on. It's a relic and unfit to be used in 2019 as the building of our parliament. We don't house prisoners in the tower of London. H of P should go the same way. Open it up to the paying public/ tourists. Let it pay its own way. Create a modern building for MPs in brum or Manchester, fit for 21st century parliamentary business. Let's take 'democracy ' out of London.

  23. Yeah, last night wasn’t the first time a goal was scored, players and fans celebrated and then it was disallowed, VAR or otherwise. It also won’t be the last time. Supporters are still going to assume the goal will stand and go crazy. If people having egg on their face for celebrating is the price to pay for having the correct decision being made, then I’m ok with it.

  25. Not every goal is checked. Celebrations won’t be curtailed on the off chance a goal is going to be checked - the reaction is too natural to do so (look at Sterling last night). At the Benfica game on Sunday a goal was checked by VAR, the players had all celebrated as they would a normal goal - they didn’t wait for the VAR check. You don’t see bowlers not celebrating when the finger goes up for LBW on the off chance the batter is going to review it.

  26. The Grealish goal was so clearly a valid goal that the celebrations would still happen and no VAR check would have happened (i.e. nothing would have changed with VAR there). I'm not sure I really get this argument. Of course celebrations will still happen instinctively when goals are scored. I don't see everybody not celebrating goals on the off chance that it may get disallowed. The reaction to offside goals shows this to me. Even when the linesman has had his flag up for a good 30 seconds before the ball goes in there are still people jumping around celebrating the goal. If a few people

  29. Difficult to say, we had 11 terrible games under bruce yet what are we 15 points behind them ? Also had major players like grealish axel and Chester our fir lengthy periods. ithink the table could be a lot different if theses were not factors.

  30. well it's a trade off. a change in how we celebrate goals basically for the big decisions to be correct. the powers that be have decided that it's worth the trade and many agree...some obviously dont and i'm sure there were debates too when the offside rule was introduced or when keepers suddenly couldnt pick up backpasses. but football fans over time adapted and accepted these changes, and we will here too.

  32. Lol. When I renewed we weren’t really close to getting promoted, but I guess/ I’m sure I’d have renewed anyway.....without even thinking why ( which certainly explains anyone who renewed in the latter days of Lerner !)... I suppose the answer is it’s the heart when you renew and the head when you are sat at home musing on life in the higher League and somebody posts something that triggers a feeling.

  34. Apart from praying, what is everyone up to this glorious weekend. Im going away tomorrow morning for three night with the kids and wife. We are off to some place called wales. The other weekend me and my partner had a beautiful day and night in Bakewell. It was just superb. A few steady beers in between lots of food and walking about the beautiful place. There was a great second hand bookstore and vinyl shop there too.

  35. What has to be looked at is the monetary limits placed with this system, not the clubs themselves. We all know that this limit is so far outdated its laughable but it's not only today's problem. I'd hate to think just how far this league will fall behind the premiership in the next 5 years; It wont be worth trying to stay up soon as the gap will be too large to bridge in a single year. How is this protecting clubs long term? If the powers that be want to set a rule like this it must be realistic not to the clubs but to the market too. This mystical figure of 13m per y

  37. You put far too much emphasis on money. It doesn't really matter what the price or the contract of a player is, that's often not down to the manager. I mean, if man city come knocking, we know as well as anyone, you slap £20m on the valuation. Other teams do try and win at football too, and will try hard to do it. It's just 11 people playing football at the end of the day, money clouds peoples judgement. Admittedly, money does tend to get you better players, but I suppose that's only natural. You can't say he hasn't "trained" them well though, to get half-way through April and

  43. It may not be much help but haven't you just explained why they're likely right? You've had, in your own words, years of this ruining your life. It will have taken you many, many tiny steps to get to where you are; many, many tiny steps to pull you back from there is maybe the way through. You should, I think, take some solace from your recognition of where you are and for the ability to analyse how or why a particular therapy might be appropriate to some people in the same situation as you but not to you. I caught a couple of minutes of an interview on 5 Live earlier with Clint Mala

  45. So, another weekend has come and gone. A weekend that most people in the world won't have ny memory of in a few years time or so. But for 69 swedish Villans it will probably stay in their memories forever. Although, some will probably never remember some parts at all. But we've had a great time. For me it started on Wednesday. Flight to Manchester, with what I suspect was a couple of manure-fans going over to watch their game against barcelona. I think I know which one of us who was the happier later that night. Their I met a friend from the really grim north of Sweden, Gällivare which is

  46. Saturday was the first time I'd been to a match with my Dad for 10 years. We used to have season tickets together, but as he got older and moved further away from Brum he stopped going. As a 40th birthday present, Mrs NV surprised me with tickets for me and Dad to sit in the Directors Club for the match on Saturday. My best pal and his Dad joined us - all four of us used to go to matches together back in the day. It was an incredible day, memories that will last forever. In fact, I'm gonna do a write up on the whole day with more pics, because it was absolutely class. I love foo
