  1. I’m away in Wales for this week, took my better half away so I could propose (thankfully she said yes). So yesterday was a pretty good day for me, waking up to this is great news. Just need the win against Wigan for a hat-trick and the perfect week away

  2. Tammy's agent has said on Twitter that it was Tammy's decision to stay, that Villa would be his first choice for a perm move should we go up, and that he was told there will be one more signing... (He answers tweets regards the two other bits)

  3. you almost see how blues fans call us jammy. from near admin to one of the country's richest clubs...jack leaving for peanuts to staying...top scorer turning down prem move to stay for the rest of the season. it makes you realise what a great club this is (if we didnt know already) that even when down on our backside good news seems to find its way to us. it's like the midlands rivalry gods dangle a carrot to our rivals saying 'look, look, something to laugh at villa about' before turning around and going 'nah just having you on' if this wonderful news doesnt give the squad a kick up the backside to push on then i dont know what will

  4. Wish him the best if/when he leaves. Always led the line with 100% comitment. Has put in a better shift then many of our permanent players the past few years. Enthusiastic and a good connection with the fans as well. Couldn't ask for much more from a loan player. Thank you for your contribution Tammy, good luck!

  9. I don’t think anybody is saying they would rather be a Wolves fan. I just want us to be heading in the right direction the way they are. We’ve fallen lower than I ever imagined. Keeping a 21 year old loan player had maybe saved our season. That’s how low we’ve fallen. Im still looking forward to the rest of the season though. I’m convinced we’ll make playoffs.

  10. I kind of understand. They are currently midtable and could even push for top 6. We were in that situation once and probably wanted better signings than Championship proven quality. Then again we only got Marlon Harewood and Heskey.

  14. We're not getting Benteke. Why do people keep suggesting crazy things? We're also not getting Isco, Odoi, Mikel, and Wolves are a far-sight better than us at the moment and Tammy Abraham owes us nothing bar mutual respect and wellwishing.

  15. The blaming of Bruce for this is just nonsense. he signed an excellent striker (at this level) on loan for the season. As many people have pointed out, Abraham's goals are what have kept us from being even shitter than we already are this season. It's been a great signing even if it's only been for 6 months. Blaming Bruce for Chelsea recalling their player months after Bruce has left is really scraping the "stuff to blame on Steve Bruce" barrell.

  20. Dem, it’s not about size of club. Bournemouth could probably attract Tammy. Decent set up, play good football, good manager, and holding their own. They are a tiny club, wolves are a pretty big club, so it’s nowt to do with that.

  21. We have now gone toe to toe with two PL clubs over two of our most significant players this season and they are both still with us. Perhaps we won’t always come out on top and the window is still open, but the significance of their resolve and ability to not be swatted aside, shouldn’t be underestimated. And all done without grand statements to the press or daft nonsense on Twitter. When you’ve really got it you don’t have to flaunt it.

  22. Do you really believe that? Id trade places with them any day. They’ve got 7 Portuguese internationals, one of them is one of the most highly rated young midfielders around. I’m sure they’ll get over Tammy Abraham. I personally think it’s embarrassing to be even gloating about him staying considering where they are and where we are.

  25. He will leave us 100% if we fail to go up. Obviously I’m glad he’s stayed, and tbf , I don’t think he’s made a bad decision at all. If he could have walked into your team, then it probably would have been a different story. One thing I will say, and I may be wrong, is that I think Tammy is actually enjoying himself here, and he’s built a good relationship up with the fans.

  29. We've got more saves than any other team in the championship so far this season. The lack of actual proof for all these claims of Nyland being bad is beyond ridiculous at this point. You don't top that statistic being as bad as most people claim he is. The fact that we couldn't defend if our life depended on it is hardly the keeper's fault.

  32. I agree calling an MP a nazi shouldn't evoke a police response, but I think the concern about what is shown in those clips and others is not about calling someone a nazi, more about the air of intimidation and threat caused by the behaviour. Getting a group of people to surround someone and shout at them as they walk along a street is physically threatening, where heckling or shouting insults from a distance isn't. When the same people engaging in this deliberate physical intimidation make comments about a war, and police being fair game, and when they are far right groups who evoke the language of betrayal of the nation, it must be hard for someone like Soubry not to think about Jo Cox and the connection between this kind of behaviour and legitimising in the minds of some people actual physical attacks on people who are claimed to have engaged in an act of "betrayal". The notion of betrayal is one that has been deliberately milked by some people. Johnson, for example, has said it on several occasions, most recently less than a month ago. I think some other politicians have challenged the use of such terms, and have made the connection between this and making some people feel justified in what most would see as unacceptable behaviour, but I don't think the challenge has been firm enough or widespread enough. .

  33. The problem now, though, is that you've got MPs writing collectively to the police demanding that they 'do something' and Ministers (such as Hancock) also calling for things to be done. It'll likely lead to further restrictions about what can happen within a mile or more of Parliament and it has allowed other politicians like Lucy Powell to yet again push her pet project about online anonymity. However unpleasant the scenes that we've seen on our tv and social media yesterday (and at other times) are, I don't like the speed to which people have been jumping to demand that these things are dealt with as criminal matters. The idea that calling an MP a nazi ought to have repercussions from the police isn't great, in my view.

  35. Certain moments ( Good or Bad) in football, life are seen as a pivotal point in a change in direction. We have experienced many bad moments in recent years as Villa fans and with Abraham this is another pivotal point in our story. The question is how does our club respond to this, do we become resilient and change our approach? I hope so, I really hope that our dealings in the market are now long term with a proper recruitment strategy, we need to start building for next season. There are future international players in the cusp of lower echelons in football, there are youth players that are going to be snatched by the elite and there are players that were not given a chance by their premier league clubs so they got let go. (Trippier, Mempam, Keane, Brooks ect) Players like Bowen, Jota, Maddison, Saiz, Maguire, Wilson have all joined Championship clubs for peanuts. We really need to start being very savy in this transfer market and really build something. I can imagine that Purslow is annoyed with what has happened with TA so he will make sure that something like will not happen again. Honestly, I just want us to start recruiting better, with younger players that fit a system of DS style. I am not interested in us signing players like Benteke, Sturridge & Cahill because they serve no longevity to this club.
