  1. Well he has two choices if he can get a ticket, the Burnley game on 2nd or Spurs on 21st, I'd go for that one if I were him it kicks off at 1730 so it would be a bit of a dash from our VP game against PNE but he may make the second half

  3. I've read the last few pages and so on.... I think this whole thing wouldn't have even been an issue if London had spread the wealth a bit more. But no, whilst 1 square mile of London City grows ever taller, the bankers get ever fatter, the rest of the country has to cut millions of pounds out of council budgets. Stockholders always want more, so wage freezes happens, so the fatties get fatter (see more influence/"powerful"). It just ends up as a poor builder from Crakow getting the blame. Is it 1914 again?

  4. I've just had a very annoying experience with a restaurant. I phoned to book a table, and they wanted to know what day and time, and for how many people. Naturally I wouldn't tell them, for fear of undermining my negotiating strategy. They flat out refused to accept the booking. Bastards.

Played 15 Won 2 Drawn 8 Lost 5 Points 14 Points per game 0.93 Championship games Westwood hasn't started... Played 6 Won 4 Drawn 2 Lost 0 Points 14 Points per game 2.33 This is not even taking into account that we scored an equaliser after he came off in the 85th minute against Newcastle. And that we let conceded an equaliser after he came on against Barnsley. Based on points per game if we had played all 21 games without Westwood we would be top of

  9. Pretty much every other team in the division seems to be able to create chances and score with relative ease. Every game we struggle, and we have just had 1 shot on target (in the 93rd minute) against a team that has 1 clean sheet in 17 games. How many times this season have we scored a goal and thought that was a good team move. I cant think of many? We basically rely every game on someone creating an individual moment of brilliance. That is not sustainable.

  12. Now we're into the proper squad numbers we'll get into some of the more obscure heroes of the last 23 years. Window 12, and one that's often been unfilled and often seen unfulfilled potential. Steve Froggatt, Nii Lamptey, Julian Joachim, Steven Davis and Marc Albrighton all showed flashes of brilliance before moving on. Today's surprise, though, is a cult hero who went on to win a league title in Germany, and featured in the World Cup and European Championships. Described by John Gregory as having a "left foot that could open a tin of beans", let's all collectively shout "SHOOOOOOO

  13. I just don't think he's very good. He's certainly not on the same level as Grealish. He wouldn't offer the same graft and guile as Adomah. Where would he fit in? There's not much room for powderpuff, one good game in 20 number 10's. I think I've said this before, if McCormack can't get in the side, he's got no chance.

  16. Time to grow a pair and actually try and win the away games. Playing for a 0-0 win or hoping we can steal it with a fluke goal out of nothing isn't going to be enough.

  22. I think you're being slightly harsh, Jack changed the game when he came on at Brighton and Leeds and has had an influence in every game he's featured in this season, he hasn't started the majority of games yet has scored three goals (Rotherham, Bristol City and Wigan) of undeniable sheer quality, we look so much more of a threat with him on the pitch. I also wish people (both Villa and non-Villa fans) would stop turning on his appearance and shinpads/socks situation as a stick to beat him with when he puts in a rare ineffective performance. When was the last time we had a 'maverick

  24. Was the British government queuing up to spend that money on the Welsh? I don't think they were. Or will be in future. Whether that money was originally pounds or euros when the Welsh get it, they're given it to improve their region. You'll forgive me for not believing Westminster would have spent, or will, that cash in a similar way.

  26. The students thing is particularly moronic. They pay through the nose, they spend while they're here, they walk away with some British influence in them which tomorrow might help our 'soft power' exert it's muscles. Idiots. All because they can't think of a better way of sticking to a immigration target they set themselves and because they view every international student as a faker looking to sneak in and vanish.

  28. Agreed. The people involved on the extreme left will never amount to anything other than a bit of social media bluster. They'll finish their gender studies course and end up selling spiritual jewellery at a market in Portland, while writing a bitter blog about white privilege or how the 'patriarchy' is sexist against gender fluid or non binary people. They're basically unemployable in the mainstream sensible world.

  30. Performances and line-ups like today is why I will never accept this whole "managers see them every day so they know more about the players than the fans" and that football people are all knowing semi gods. Especially considering the charlatans that we've had to endure over the years as Villa fans, Although I fully acknowledge that there are loads of things going on behind the scenes that we know nothing about. Thing is thou. All us fans know exactly what we can expect from Gabby as central striker nowadays. We know that 9 out of 10 times Westwood will be anonymous and the

  31. Awful today. These past few away games are the Bruce we all didn't want. I have no problems with how he approaches home games. But we need to be better away from home. We're just far too negative. There's no reason why we couldn't have been a little more adventurous tonight. How can we spend so much money on attackers and be so woeful going forward? Stop picking Gabby as well ffs. How can managers not see how shite he is?

  34. If we are honest, really it all goes back to the mess we left behind after WWII, Kuwait, Iran, Iraq, Palestine, Israel all of it. That's not to say there wouldn't be issues had we not taken out crayons to the map but most modern conflicts owe much of their origins to those post war policies. Personally I think it is far too simplistic to say ISIS was the result of our actions of removing Saddam, it was a factor but so too was the sectarianism of the regime that followed. Irrespective of all that though, personally I advocated at the time taking swift and full action against ISIS and

  38. Jedinak has been here since August. After a rocky start he has ranged from solid to absolute mother **** warrior. I've never seen Westwood put in a performance like Jedinak did against Blues and I "like" Westwood, certainly to the point where I don't have an agenda against him. Westwood has been rubbish this season, one half decent display against Leeds isn't enough to change my mind on that. He's been pretty rubbish for most of his career at Villa, though perhaps a change of scene might see him flourish elsewhere. I think we should replace him and Gardner, neither are good enough f

  39. Lies or very very wrong predictions? BBC Now, apparently we won't have absolute tested figures on growth for 2016 until 2018. But I'd be quite surprised if we've currently got a negative 3% to 6% recession.
