  1. Stolen from twitter What's the difference between Paul Lambert and the villa goal? Paul Lambert still gets defended.

  2. Be specific. Who would you like and think can do a better job than Lambert? Somebody will suggest a name, to which you'll reply "but why would they come to Villa" or similar. All a bit pointless really.

  3. Oh go on then, I'll do you one for free you cheeky scamp! I chose claret and blue for the colours because I am a Villa fan, you said you weren't too sure about the fonts so I used a different one for each letter. You could try here: http://www.reddit.com/r/freedesign/

  5. Honest truth, these are the villa games Iive been to. 98/99 Leicester drew 1-1 98/99 Spurs won 3-2 98/99 Sheff Wed won 2-1 99/00 boro won 1-0 99/00 liverpool drew 0-0 99/00 man u won 3-0 00/01 everton won 2-1 00/01 charlton won 2-0 or 2-1 can't remember 01/02 man u drew 1-1 (remember they nearly alwain at VP) 01/02 fulham won 2-0 03/04 Spurs won 1-0 06/07 chelsea drew 0-0 07/08 spurs drew 4-4 this season cardiff won 2-0 west brom away drew 2-2 15 games and never seen a defeat, bearing in mind I've seen United twice, Chelsea when they were reigning league champions under Mourinho and the likes of Liverpool that is a pretty amazing record. I honestly believe I am a good luck charm. Lets hope that holds up tomorrow against West Ham.

  6. Updated table. The figures got even more disparate. Points per game ratio stretched out across the season (rounded up): With Vlaar - 53 Without Vlaar - 22 With him we're a decent if unspectacular side. Without him we're not even Premier League standard - it's that simple. We desperately need him back for the Cardiff game otherwise it's basically a guaranteed defeat.

  7. I like him and want him to do well. I despair.

  8. Grow up and try use your brain before you post shit like this. pathetic Yeah Lambert should be signing 100% quality proven players on the budget and remit he has had to deal with. Every signing should be a complete success without fail?! You obviously don't have a clue about anything that's been going on at this club over the past season and a half.

  9. It was clearly audible. Just embarrassing. Yeah, he's earned your abuse after being injured for months and putting in a decent first performance back. Well done you!!

  10. Our pathetic Villa park performances should not be allowed to continue. The teams continous ability to switch off at crucial times, Our lack of running off the ball and tactical naivety is down to Lambert and his coaching team. A poor West Ham easily beat us today because Big Sam nullified our threat. Lambert cannot adapt mid match quick enough. Also add this to the catastrophe of not getting in another centre half in January, everybody else apart from Lambert can see that without Vlaar in the back line we are a defeat waiting to happen. Okore even if back playing shortly wont be match sharp for awhile and with Vlaar picking up niggles every few weeks i just hope Lamberts stupid defensive gamble doesnt cost us too much.

  11. Not really. Lambert saw a problem at attempted to correct it with Albrighton and it almost paid off. West Ham just sat back as we wasted chances. The problem is that everyone saw what changes needed to be made within 10 min of the game, probably even sooner. Yet, Lambert waited until 60 minutes and two goals down to make changes. At the start of the game we have had no width and our three strikers had no space in that packed box. Our defensive line with full backs being forced to go too far forward due to the lack of wide players was asking for trouble and we were very lucky not to be down by half time. Our midfield was caught between the play by being too far from the strikers and having to sprint back to help cover the defence when they were caught out by a ball down the channels every time West Ham got the ball. I have stuck up for Lambert in the past, but the so called bizarre habit we have of only showing up in 1 half (or 30 mins) is IMO down to Lambert and his inability to adjust quickly to the opposition.

  12. Defeat to west ham at villa park! Relegation beckons. Lambert really is clueless. To all those who told me we didnt need another cb in jan please look at todays cbs and tell me youre happy? Neither are competent at cb and without vlaar our defence is useless.

  14. Somewhere, I assume no longer in Birmingham, Culverhouse is chasing Luna and asking him where he is going. Luna doesn't understand English, not really sure what will happen next.

  17. I don't think he deserves a new contract.

  18. We should probably just score a couple of own goals directly from the kick off. It's our best chance of playing well for 90 minutes.

  19. I really hope these contract talks are now on hold.

  20. Lambert out - another clueless display at home for Villa and our manager outdone by Big Sam. Just not good enough.

  21. Pfft, you really don't like anything do you?

  22. The main problem is the complete lack of midfield. Lambert is a champions league winning midfielder, you'd think he could assemble one??? Not on the money Scrooge McLerner gives. Sorry but i just do not buy this reason, even the lower league teams show better skills in midfield, more passion and seem to know how to play, they do not cost millions so why do our players play so bad. Don't talk such sense I do not buy this fantasy either that if Lambert was given money he would suddenly become an amazing manager I have seen very little to suggest with better players that he could get them playing better stuff Like you said we have been beaten by sides such as sheffield united this season who beat us quite easily with inferior players who cost a fraction of what our team cost

  24. Totally agree, 10th was not safety this season. Points proved this. But no one was listening BJ!! Of course they didn't. It's easier to point to the table and stick your head in the sand.

  25. He must have the worst record of any manager still in a job.

  26. Has played in every game since signed. **** joke.

  27. Because we somehow beat Soton and Man city. West Ham beat us with 2 shots on target and 32% possession so I guess they didn't deserve the win then like we obviously didn't vs City or Southampton.........

  28. Out of interest how many times has a premierleague manager with a win percentage of 30% had his contract renewed? By my estimates he's done enough to be sacked 3-4 times atleast since hes been here.

  29. Absolute dross as usual. It's like the final season of O'Leary and Ellis, except then everyone could see the problems whereas now people are making excuses for abject incompetence at all levels of the club.

  30. Lambert will get some unwarranted stick for this. We have won several games we should not have this season. Now we are losing one we shouldn't. It happens. At least it was not like last week.

  31. Nobody is slagging off the West Ham line up now are they

  36. Why does everything have to be so black and white? If we win today: The players deservedly get some of the credit (most notably the scorers, or the defenders if we keep a clean sheet etc...) Lambert deservedly gets some credit for setting us up in the correct way tactically. The fans get some credit for roaring on the team. Not very often in this world are things down to solely one person. Often credit and/or blame is shared between various different people.

  39. I often find the way Villa play frustrating. Its led to swearing, throwing things and having epic hissy fits on a regular basis. Booing however is something I would never do for one simple reason. I love Villa. I find the concept of booing or jeering something that I love rather odd.

  40. It wont change under Lambert, We will always be shite at home and amazingly inconsistant Unlike some people I wont change my opinion if we beat Cardiff 2 3 4 nil next week. The shite will never go away under this manager.

  41. Wahey. Get behind the team. I'll just pretend we are unlucky and everything is bright and beautiful cheers. Can you give me any tips?

  42. We really haven't. They're obviously up for the match because Sam's given them a shouting at. Both teams are using lots of energy and are making it very tight. The quality will shine through in the 2nd half.

  43. Vibrant first half, we've been excellent, now we go again in the second half...

  44. There is a debate about that in the Lambert thread.
