  2. If he's still undecided, I say tell him he gets Petrov's number 19 shirt. A symbolic changing of the guard. I think Stan won't mind presenting the shirt to him either. I mean it makes sense on all counts - this would boost shirt sales amongst Bulgarian fans, good for us, Stan gets a youngster he rates highly to inherit his shirt, and I'm sure Tonev would be well chuffed too. C'mon, Tonev 19! Let's make it happen!

  3. And you know Lambert's priorities in terms of positions how exactly? I agree from our perspective that some other positions would seem more pressing but we were saying the same last summer when he spent money on Benteke who it seemed like we didn't really need compared to other positions. So I'm happy to let Lambert target whatever he thinks will improve us. Am I excited about this player? Not especially because I've never seen him play but I am excited about the prospect of new arrivals in general and us hopefully getting better. One thing we should have learned over the last few years is

  9. I refuse to hate Randy Lerner for trying and failing, I think it's petty, childish and to be frank I think it's beneath me. I do think he's got it "right" this time, at least he has the "right" man in charge for the situation we found ourselves in. Mr Lerner rode in on a white horse, spent a **** ton of cash and frankly failed to see results, something he and we all wanted. It's a bit silly of us to whinge that he decided enough was enough, if he'd carried on spending the way we were we might not have a club left to support. We're in rebuilding mode. It's a very American sports concept and

  11. Suarez is a very good footballer, but he is also a massive word removed. Racism and biting would get you sacked in most professions, but it carries a paltry, meaningless ban in football. The bloke is a disgrace, and the only people that would defend his actions in these two incidents could only be considered clowns. Balotelli on the other hand, he was entertaining. He was so unpredictable he made a club with no class interesting...

  17. I've stated it many times so I won't go into details over and over but: Lambert said he paid £1m for Westwood, and that Lowton and Sylla were both cheaper than him. The media reported fees are false. Maybe we need a stickied fee thread? Not media reported fees but the ones actually coming from the club.

  18. Eastern Europeans are slightly more consistent than the Russians in the Premier League. The hot zone for foreign imports seems to be a line drawn between Poland and Belarus to the East and one drawn from Ireland to Portugal to the West.

  19. you might not like your life as it is, so why not try something else you might be weak and follow the crowd you might be a teenager and therefore keen to appear different and rebellious and therefore need to do what many other teenagers do you might be a plank you might be too dumb or weak to strive for something better and then, there is also the real and valid area of you might be a perfectly sensible grown up that has decided that on occassion when you have some leisure time and spare cash, you will do some drugs. When you don't have the time or the money, you don't. It really doesn

  22. Will be nice to get Suarez out of the Premier League. He is a great player and everything, but I am tired of his antics and all the attention that follows. I can tolerate a player that comes from another culture and I appreciate people being a bit different, but when you bite people and then start to blame everyone else you are obviously not a good person. Same with Joey Barton, he is a violent thug who deserves to be held up in prison - and his constant Twitter-rage is an embarrassment to mankind. Suarez belongs in the La Liga, where he can dive and show imaginary yellow cards all day lon

  23. No intervention. It's ****. The whole area is deeply divided along a sectarian line and has been for centuries. Change can only come from within and when the powerful countries in the region still adhere to barbaric laws and rule with an iron fist, then nothing significant will happen any time soon. So **** it. The west should GTFO and STFO. Pile our money into a sustainable future instead of this tiresome (and not to mention expensive) habit of oil chasing. Push for peace talks and let them sort it out themselves.

  24. I know I've just posted a link to his programme on it but here's a piece of writing from Derren Brown on psychics. http://derrenbrown.co.uk/testing-psychics/ It's quite long (And I'm not Levi ) so I'll put it under a 'spoiler' as I am a philistine and don't know how to put it behind a cut in another way. But it's an interesting read, well I thought so anyway.

  25. Can we please not get into the MON debate again? He finished 6th with 6th highest wages, a better manager would have done more (there are lots of them), a worse manager would have done less (there are lots of them)..... He's gone, it's over.....

  33. There is a story on the Birmingham Mail site saying Lambert wants 6 signings, it doesn't have any quotes but I'd say it is about right. Although personally depending on departures I think it will be closer to 10.

  35. They look like Horse Jockey kits in the beginning. Interesting that in 1957 we seemingly played a game in a red kit against Burnley This one's always been a favourite (in case the image is not showing, I'm referring to the 93-95 green, red and black Muller kit) We borrowed the Birmingham City kit. 39. If they get there.... Neither Israel nor the west can allow Assad (and whoever follows him) to acquire S300 SAMs because they could reach every acre of Israeli, Turkish and Cypriot airspace (think RAF Akrotiri), not to mention the missiles can also be fitted with different warheads - which is handy seeing as Syria has massive stocks of seriously nasty chemical weapons. As MV says above, the most powerful rebel factions are serious Jihadis (on youtube eating the hearts of their enemies) so the thought of them taking control is equally grim, and of course there is the small matter of a Russian

  44. The problem with ours is that it was a camel. A horse designed by a committee. The club did the right thing in consulting the fans, but then did the wrong thing in trying to incorporate EVERYTHING the fans wanted into one badge. I still remember doing the survey they sent out. They obviously just threw everything that the fans said yes to onto a page without really stepping back and saying "does this ACTUALLY look any good?". Ours isn't terrible, but it could have been so much better.

  45. I'm unsure what what an owner would need to do to impress you. If it's the club winning something, or finishing high up, then that's kind of fair enough as a way of looking at things. It's not the way I look at it, but each to their own, I guess. For me, I try and look at the lie of the land, and always want to the club to do the best it can within it's means, within it's control. You (the owner) can't do anything about things outside your control. So if a billionaire buys Man City, for example, there's little that Randy or any other owner can do about that. Outside our control. I want the cl
