  1. I see the Czech ambassador has had to put out a statement explaining that Czech Republic and Chechnya are not the same place. You wouldn't want to be a Czech paediatrician over there.

  3. For the past 6 months the young lads who live next door have booted their ball into my garden on almost daily basis. Its no big deal, whenever I got out the back I just pop it back over the fence to them. Anyway, today I'm sending the ball back over when the father (big VIlla gan FWIW) says "who's ball is that?", I reply, "yours, isn't it?". He says "no, we thought it was yours so have been giving it you back everytime we see it in the garden". So, **** knows where it came from but for the last half a year me and my neighbour thought we were doing a good deed by returning a ball neithe

  7. Yes, that's what they mean. But there's nothing wrong with using appropriate terminology. Some films, the cinematography jumps out at you - "Drive" is a classic example. You can't help but notice the long tracking shots, the lighting, etc. With others, it's all about the acting, or the plot, or the script, or even the music. I don't think you should be deconstructing every little thing, either, but anybody who loves films will notice good camerawork.

  8. That's presumably the thinking behind the policies in most of the West, and in Singapore. It's a fantasy. You're persecuting people for liking some mildly harmful, unusual cigarettes. And to discourage them properly you need to be able to hang them, like in Singapore, otherwise they fail to be discouraged, like in the US, UK, Australia, Europe, etc. Is hanging people for having a puff a worthwhile price to pay? Maybe it depends on your point of view, but I'd guess that most people would agree that it isn't.

  16. I'd sell everyone who is to the left of the black line at the end of the season. 1 point per game is 38 points per season. 1.22 (Bannan) is 46.4 points over a season, which would make us comfortably mid-table. I'd keep everyone at 1 point per game though, because these players would play better in a team with better players who were not bringing down their averages. This isn't moneyball. You can't make these kinds of decision based on stats alone. It's absolute madness.

  17. Am I missing something here? How are all these other teams that won today suddenly out of it? Is there only one game left of the season? All those teams, including ourselves are where we are because we have been fragile all season. Stoke, Sunderland and Norwich picking up points today doesn't mean they will continue to pick up points for the rest of the season. Newcastle are still stuttering and just as they look like they might pull away they get dragged back in again. These teams haven't suddenly rid themselves of all their problems, not by a long shot. The 3 point gap that Sunderla

  22. I know the results weren't the best but Wigan had two games in hand over us and they lost both. While many on here were worried their luck would give them a point or even three against City, that didn't happen. Then even more people expected them to beat the bubble people, and that didn't happen. Surely that's a great thing, the two games they had over us are gone and we're still 3 points ahead. Still feeling very positive, then it might be the vodka I've just drank, hmmm ...

  26. The best post I've read. Nail. Head. That's a bingo. Yeah. And another couple of things: Making it illegal, as Xann says, provides revenue to criminals who trade in violence and threats of violence in order to operate. They are insulated from, and therefore have no interest in the need to provide a safe, uncontaminated product. Considering the popularity of the product in question, it's pretty disgraceful that so many governments prefer to simply persecute users. Another major consequence of the simplistic approach is that it gives the police effective power over people who ar

  34. Rafael Zabaleta Ivanovic even Glen Johnson and Seamus Coleman, probably Debuchy when he gets settled thats just in England alone You'd actually buy any of them over Kyle Walker? Crazy. I'd rather keep Lowton than have Rafael (attitude), Zabaleta (too old), Ivanovic (CB not RB). The others are also rans. Walker is fast, he practices against Bale, and can score and create chances. His defence game is good and improving. Walker is the only defender I'd take from the current Spurs team. (Yes, Vertonghen is better than Clark/Baker but I expect Clark/Baker to improve to his level

  35. Just finished rewatching the lotr trilogy.. My god they are so good. Yes they differ from the books (which I have read). But they are still a great trilogy. The cinetography is so good, for example minas tirath in return of the king is fantastic. Think Tolkein would be very happy with the way the books are portrayed

  36. I honestly doubt how much direct influence a politician has under the circumstance of war. A PM may have a background of law or finance but that doesn't make them a military strategist. I'm not sure how it worked in WWII but in the conflicts that have followed, I picture half a dozen senior military and civil advisors surrounding the PM and saying "Under the current circumstance, we think we should...", followed by any PM pausing for supposed thought and then saying "Yes. That is what we should do". The important part of how the public perceive their leader is performing in a 'crisis' is then

  37. We lost 3 games letting in 15 goals. Would you not think that after that he should be absolutely sure he has to change? How bad does it have to get? The point stands though. We'd done well enough playing that way before we imploded. Why can't the implosion be down to the personnel? Not solely the shape of the side? Personally I don't think 3 at the back is so crazy and I don't think we've seen the back of it for good from Lambert either. We could play a good 3-4-3 with... ------------------guzan----------------- -------clark------vlaar------baker------ Lowton-----delph----westwood-

There are some folks that certainly shouldn't smoke cannabis, there are some folks that shouldn't drink booze, ... neck Valium, ... snort cocaine, ...take paracetamol, ... eat peanuts etc etc There's no hard and fast rule unfortunately, everyone's different. It's a lesser of two evils situation. Though on the surface the Dutch model would seem to function better, and it's a revenue stream lost to the crims. .
