  3. The road to recovery for AVFC starts with the removal of the most incompetent manager we have ever had. Yes it needs to be followed with other changes at higher up in the AVFC food chain, but Lambert is one of the worst managers I have ever had the misfortune to witness running the team. Clueless, witless, incompetent, get rid of the clearing in the woods now

  8. OGS would of had it just as bad, do ppl really think that lambert doesnt know what this squad needs? you think he likes having bannan as his playmaker lol? hes been here 6 months signed enough players to fill the squad up as he could out of the money in the summer. he obviously didnt realise just how bad the rot was at villa as he thought young players would come in and do well but in fact they have just been dragged down to the same level as our pansie players. we sold players with good attitudes on the pitch and players that gave their all for villa for alot of money and replaced them with **** numpties that couldnt give a ****. ya can take it out on the manager all day long but the fact is he is being held back by our shit board and affected by past decisions

  9. I've been a Villa fan for 38 of my 44 years on this Earth and wasn't even this angry when we went down in the late 80s as we had the players to go back up and we did. Now if we go down, we don't have the players to get us back up. We're going to do a Leeds. Spend money Randy, you've got just under a week left, or GTFO of our football club.

  10. This. He has to walk, or be gently nudged. As somebody said on twitter, relegation I could handle, it's part of the game. But accepting it in January? That's just not on. He's not done enough to show me he has anything like the ability needed to turn this club around, ever. The fact that he looks completely forlorn showse one thing. Whatever he's attempting to instil in them simply isn't working.

  11. I have nothing constructive to add. I've tried so hard to be stoic and thoughtful in the face of the past few tumultuous seasons, but it's gotten to the point where I'm actually curious to see how low Villa can go. My waning hopes for the club have been dashed completely and my feeling toward the team has turned into this weird kind of schadenfreude. We might as well just rip it up and start again. This is what I get for choosing to support teams without a damn chance of winning anything. Eff everything.

  12. Oh good we're out... What a shock... Not! This now goes down as the worst team i have ever seen in Claret & Blue (& Yes i'm including West Ham, Burnley in that too) My reaction tonight was one of ..........."Oh" in a really tepid "Meh" kind of way. I am past caring about this ridiculous football club. Shame on you all at Villa! You are an absolute embarrassment to the name. Still every cloud has a silver lining... At least that means i don't have to endure watching that lot in the FA cup again this season Can't we just forfeit the remaining points this season & save us all the waste of time, money & embarrassment of watching it.... One things for sure though... I won't be.. Villa Park is now on my "avoid" list. Right i'm off up the bookies to put a fiver on a 0-5 defeat against the barcodes

  18. Dear Hairyhands, As you know the club monitor this site and have done so for years. If you have the position of knowledge you espouse you must be doing this with the clubs authority as you can surely be identified and Lambert must know wha tyou are saying on here. Now rather than use you as his 'Max Clifford' can you tell the club to get that bloody Yank from behind his sofa and face the people he has disappointed/angered/upset - you are being used as a toned down 'General Krulak' to try and appease us 'men and women on the terraces' We are in a mess and no amount of explanations from you will change that and Lamberts decisions tactically and with his ridiculous substitutions such as on Tuesday are no less culpable than Lerners disappearance.

  19. Dunne isn't great but he will take the pressure of the young lads!!

  20. Dunne when ready should tighten our defence especially on set pieces. He does try and command his area by taking responsibility when crosses come into our penalty box and this is what we've been missing since he has been injured and both Collins and Cuellar have been moved on. However would be more than a bit concerned if he was isolated one on one with an attacker but at the moment i would rather have him back in the team than not for the above stated reasons as we need a leader to organise our defence. Opposing teams have continually exploited this weakness and will continue to do so unless something is done about it.

  22. It's not that simple unfortunately Bicks, with regards us voting for MEPs and that being an example of the EU being democratic. The European Parliament is just one segment of the EU and has a comparatively weak role in the whole organisation - I may be slightly out of date but it's major role a couple of years ago was predominately to sign off the budget for the EU and whatever legislation the institutions above it sent down to be ratified. Oh and to supervise the organisation, whatever that means. The Commission and the Council of the European Union are not democratically elected to office and hold far greater power than the Parliament. The only other democratically elected element of the European Union is the European Council (the meeting of member heads of state along with 2 EU Presidents for a chat, in essence), which for all intents and purposes is powerless. The EU does have a democratic deficit, even generally as a supporter of the institution it really has got to improve it's accountability.

  31. At this point I'm not sure it is worth recommending anything other than the cheapest one you can find. The Xbox 360 is almost as old as your son and is almost certainly absolutely going to be replaced by a new Xbox this year. You are going to buy a new console for a handful of games that you cant get on PS3, and and when you reduce that list of games to ones suitable for a nine year old then it is quite a small list. Minecraft on Xbox is a watered down version of the PC game, if you can get the game running on PC (and it will run on the cheapest of laptops) then you might want to do that instead. The only other child friendly exclusive game I can think of off the top of my head is Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. http://youtu.be/HHHXv_2eBwM Maybe Viva Pinata too. Both are quite old and might be out of print though.

  34. I went to see a Muslim tribute band last night. They were called "Bomb Jovi". They were brilliant. Their last song "Living on a Prayer Mat" almost brought the house down. Then this Muslim bloke started bragging about how he had the entire Koran on DVD. I was interested so I asked him "Can you burn me a copy?" Well that was when the trouble started...

  37. Love the idea that Lambert had his hands tied with wages. It's been noted on another thread that some very good Spanish players playing for clubs like Levante, Betis etc are only on around 5K per week. This is just one league in Europe, so I don't believe there was absolutely NOBODY in World football who Lamberk could've purchased who is no better than Barry Bannan, KEA, Ireland, and Delph.

  39. Don't know why, but of all the things Lambert has come out with over the past few days, this annoyed me most: I've been supporting this club since I was about 7 and attended matches regularly from the age of 10. I have lived and breathed Villa all these years and suffered many lows and enjoyed a few highs but have stuck with the club because they are in my blood. Paul Lambert is doing a job for Villa on a massive contract which, if he fails, will almost certainly end with a massive payout for him. He is no doubt hoping to position himself for a job with a bigger club in a few years time and whatever happens during his time at Villa, it will just be part of his CV. I wonder who is really going to be hurting more if we are relegated?

  41. I'm struggling to understand what Randys objectives are at the moment. My opinion is that it was his choice to be a sugar daddy, and I respect his right to not invest and transition into a sustainable club. However, he got us into this mess with his wreckless spending and if it proves that we are relegated because of a lack of investment now, then he will have betrayed the fans and gone back on his word. I'm happy for Randy to be our owner but I think he needs to appoint an experienced footballing CEO to make this work. Equally I would be quite happy to see him gone.
