  1. LERNER OUT It's unfair that Lambert take all the blame This spineless invertebrate deserves just as much abuse He hides away from the fans across the sea while we have to watch this shit week in week out Not good enough im afraid the current "Custodian" should be ashamed of himself

  5. Right, now you go and find me where Lerner, Lambert and journos have said there is nothing to spend. In fact only a day or two ago Pat Murphy said the opposite, as have Nursey and a few others and that's just the ones I'm aware of and I dont pay that much attetion to the press. I dont expect you to trust me and quite frankly it doesn't bother me. I just know that what I've been told is solid and more reliable than any journalist or fantasist.

  7. Not really, the club has been in a massive decline for 3 seasons now. We've been knocking closer on the door of relegation each time. Quite a few players left at the end of last season and the squad has needed major investment - far, far more than 20m, imo. We knew that a core of the team with likes of Herd, Bannan, Lichaj, Stevens, Delph etc were Championship quality at best and it's inevitably where we'd be heading without genuine quality. It costs money.

  16. We need all four sides of the ground standing and everyone, even those of you who choose not to sing usually, to give the lads our vocal backing tonight for 90 minutes. I watched the Blackburn Villa-Park semi last night and we were loud, but only on occasions and we STILL let how the team was playing on the pitch determine how vocal we were. We can get away with that against a poorly supported club like Blackburn. We cannot do that tonight! Bradford have almost 7,000 fans and will be singing all night long - they have nothing to lose - this is their cup final tonight and they are well up for it!! We need to forget the negative thoughts, and forget anything else that has happened this season. We need to drown out the Bradford fans and inspire and roar our lads on to victory - whatever course the game chooses to take. The Holte and lower north will all stand - we need the Trinity and Doug to follow suit and create a hostile atmosphere like Bradford did at VP. We have 90 minutes to turn this around. 90 minutes to make a difference. That difference could be the fine line between another Wembley cup final, or not. It could even be the fine line between turning our season around, or not. I hope every Villa fan inside that ground tonight chooses to make a difference. If they do, we have a bloody good chance. Come on the Villa boys!

  18. I think you completely misunderstood what he meant. Lambert will deserve credit yes, absolutely. He will have achieved the task set before him. Do I think the board deserve credit? Well that's hard for me to admit. I'm far too emotive when it comes to such things. Will I admire their balls? In a way, yes. Obviously I struggle with the concept of them "gambling" with our near future in such a way and I absolutely agree they got us into this mess. So I carry a certain bitterness towards them for it. However, as Blandy says if it comes off and we do push on as I absolutely believe is the intention, then I will likely admit some congratulations towards them yes. It's a bold move. One I would never personally make.

  19. I want a swift take over to ease the financial trouble then I want mid table Championship mediocrity this season. Next season a tilt at the playoffs, getting to the final and losing. Then the new owners reveal they are just as financially **** as the current lot, with more fire sales and misery for all concerned. You become numb to constant pain, it eases after a while. Having a hope and then having it crushed hurts so much more. That's what I want for SHA a constant cycle of raised expectations and crushing reality checks.

  21. I'm not sure what you mean but I doubt very much that it's from the same source. And I hate the term ITK. I sometimes get to hear things, I sometimes chase them up, especially when I'm concerned. I sometimes share them. In this case, I know one thing and one thing only and only posted it because it's contradictary to what's being spread about by those I think are fantasists or are misinformed. Whether anybody believes it or thinks its important or not is up to them.

  24. I'm inclined to think that come May Newcastle will be in trouble too. They're buying too many French players with little experience from a league like ours. QPR and Reading to be the other two teams going down. We nick a couple of QPR's new players in the summer.

  27. Lambert deserves untold credit if stay up, he's had no where near the support required. He signed the spine of our team, Guzan, Vlaar, Westwood and Beneteke, for not a lot of cash. I think the other two have ability, but it's not working, hey they only cost 5.5m between them! Lambert is the man!

  28. I'll try and break this down some more for the doom mongers who are worried Genting Casinos could decide the fate of our club: The main purpose of sponsoring a football team's shirt is to increase brand awareness, and isn't based on the pity wealthy business men have for shit sportsmen (shocking I know!). In our case, Genting currently pay us money so that we print their logo quite largely on each and every adult replica shirt sold, selected training gear and outerwear, sponsor boards in pre-match and post-match interviews, as well as on the shirts of the players who take part in our games. Lets say Aston Villa sell 50,000 replica shirts in a year worldwide (could be more, could be less, I don't know for sure). That is 50,000 people sporting the logo of Genting Casinos who will easily each come across hundreds, if not thousands, of people whilst wearing their shirt. Let us also combine that with the fact that there are millions across the globe who will have seen the Genting Casinos logo whilst watching matches, interviews, AVTV, Benteke's backheel to Weimann on Youtube etc. Genting Casinos pay Aston Villa for the service of allowing them to reach the huge audience that Aston Villa commands, and if they have indeed decided not to renew the 2-year contract that is coming to an end (whether it be due to a lack of funds; achievement of whatever goal was set by originating the sponsorship; not achieving whatever goal was set by originating the sponsorship or simply the fact that Aston Villa lost 8-0 to Chelsea) then I am pretty sure the people towards the top of Aston Villa will have no problems in finding a new shirt sponsorship partner if they are not in talks with one already. Now, how about switching this topic up and simply stating who we might want on the front of our shirts next season: I'll go with Acorns again because I feel spreading the word about their good work is a much better cause than a putting a few million into the club, and would also give us some good PR again rather than the press taking the complete and utter piss out of us.

  29. Anyhow Would people take the rumoured £13m offer from Newcastle for Bent IF Lerner allowed the money to be reinvested in new players It's a toughie as potentially we are selling to a relegation rival but on the other hand Bent isn't doing a lot for us about now and 2 or 3 new players might work better for us

  34. I want them to get relegated again. I don't want to see them go out of business, I want them to shrink to a Walsall sized club. No offence to Walsall, I just want the noses to be one of the minnow teams of the Midlands. They were quick enough to plunder Oxford a few years back when they spunked all their money on a new stadium. I hope their least shit players are all poached before the end of the window. And I'd take Davies off their hands at the moment, for about £1m...

  35. This thread acts as a fairly regular reminder that i don't meet many women. My friend group rarely go out properly anymore (cinema trips usually these days), besides which I'm useless at that game, and beyond that I'm either at work or at home. There's a girl in the admin department that might be of interest, gets on the same bus as me and glances over when she heads out of the office past my desk, but I don't think I've spoken to her once (after nearly walking into her turning a corner in the office i think i said 'Oh, sorry') and have nothing to do with her department. I think I qualify as hopeless

  36. I don't admire any criminals. I just find the whole Italian Mafia thing very interesting . It's not like I am referring to mass murder , racism , slavery and theft on a global scale as something as sick and twisted as a "golden age" because that would be the ramblings of a sick and twisted sociopath. Nice try though .
