Smells like team spirit?

It sure does.

Could it be that Senderos is in the heart of it?

I think this is the case, the way he leads on the pitch is brilliant. He does far more talking than Vlaar does. Delph has also come out of his shell, I notice he is taking charge of the midfield and Gabby seems to be the talking up front.

I also think the mature players (Cole, Senderos...etc) are having a positive impact on the training pitch too.

You can lead in many ways. I wouldn't put down Vlaar's "silent" leading by example either. Both are important, but maybe Vlaar needed someone else to do the talking, and now we have him.

To have these two and Keane is awesome. This kind of leadership in such a short time. I'd put our great start of season mostly down to this.

Agreed.

I wasn't suggesting Vlaar is a bad leader, just that others are more vocal and I think Baker and others need to be told what to do sometimes, so Senderos helps in that way,

No, you weren't. My choice of words was not great there. Sorry mate.

Loving it at the moment.

I know the form and league position is only temporary, but the main thing is the dignity, and pride that we have shown.

If we carry on like this, teams will no longer expect an easy 3 points from us which is all I really want - I try to keep 'realistic' expectations.

What I would give to be in those big man hugs at the end of the games!

I think from what I've been told Senderos could be a major plus in the dressing room. He's supposed to be a talker which I think helps the back four and I think a major influence in probably Bakers best 90 mins in a Villa shirt. And Senderos's reactions after games are priceless.

A big plus is Hutton too. After years of derision from the fans, and left out hung to dry by the club, he's come back into the team fully committed. Watching him celebrate the goals and wins has earned my total respect, because I don't think it's something I could do this quickly.

We are no longer a bunch of pussy's anymore which makes a huge difference, credit has to go Lambert and Keane for this, players signed on a shoe string budget and excelling each game, the return of Hutton to the side has been refreshing too as he is a really solid player on the pitch.

I particularly enjoy the celebrations of the side at the full time whistle too, very passionate with Guzan and Senderos usually leading the charge.
