This season in my eyes was never supposed to be a relegation battle. The squad he has assembled is too good to be anywhere near being relegated. To be 3 points off the drop at this stage of the season is unacceptable. He has completely failed in his job as Aston Villa manager. We're going backwards under him, in a season which was supposed to be about progression. I didn't expect us to finish in the top 10. But a comfortable 15-12th kinda season without the fear of being relegated is what I expected. He's had 2 and a half years to get this team organised and playing how he wants them to play, but we're looking more and more clueless by the game. We have no identity, the players don't look like they know what they're supposed to be doing and his tactical knowledge is just woeful. The guy has got to go.

    • LibDem’s have a policy of an extra penny on income tax to raise £7Bn for the NHS. Over to you...
    • If any party came out and said the NHS is fu**ed, we need more money. As a result of this we are going to charge every single working adult £3 per week to fund it, This will generate nearly 5 billion per year on top of existing funding & The money would only be used to fund the NHS i would quite happily vote for them. I imagine most people would have no problem at all actually paying it and thinking it was more than worth it but anyone that suggested it would be pretty much unelectable on this basis alone
    • Rather impressed by Salzburg. Some very decent players there.
    • Haaland looks decent so far
    • Personal attack aside (mods?) resorting to both personal attacks and cheap pedantry (hit/punched) is fairly amusing really. Shows the depth of your argument.
    • Ah but you did suggest that the aide might have thought he'd been hit, which then got relayed back to the Tory Bullshit & Deflection Regurgitation Machine and seemingly came out the other end as punched So you were offering an alternative theorem about where punch came from.... (Thats the way to do it!)
    • Here's the thing about Mcginn. Despite the amount of complaints he's been getting in here, both he's whoscored ratings and and infogol ratings are generally decent, higher than our other midfielders. On understat, every single one of his attacking statistics are higher than the premier league average for a premier league midfielder.  What I'm getting at is, these stats suggest that while he may be off form, he's still contributing to the team in some way and is still our best midfielder on the pitch, which is probably why Dean doesn't want to drop him. Between Nakamba, Hourihane, Luiz and Mcginn, we typically play 3 of them on the field at one time and so we only have a single rotation option. In general, the priority is to rotate someone else from the midfield trio for the rotation option because at least one of them have been crap usually, which leaves nobody but Lansbury to sub for Mcginn and I'm not sure Smith is confident enough to start Lansbury, especially considering how light-weight our midfield generally is. The other option is to sub in one of the wingers for Mcginn and move Grealish to a central position but as we've seen, that just hampers Grealish.
    • Better teams give you less space, which makes your touch look worse. It's easy to look like Zidane against an inferior team. And the top pressing teams like Liverpool can make players with good touches look very amateurish. I don't know why you keep banging this drum about the opposition being irrelevant. It's so obviously wrong, since a football match is contested by two teams. It isn't golf or solitaire or whatever you imagine it to be.
    • Nah....that was years ago the game has changed😂
    • I think he has simply lost form.
