Win a prize, cos I have a cold

I've an awful flu-like chest infection right now, so there are two boxes waiting to be unboxed. I'm frustrated. So for now I am giving away a prize, which is great if you love Star Wars! Subscribe to my channel to be in with a chance of winning! www.youtube.com/c/denjamediauk

From Leicester to Leicester

It was the 14th of February this year, when the Sherwood love affair with Villa started. The following day saw the first signs of Sherwood's influence, when he visited the dressing room at halftime to help inspire the team to a 2-1 win over Leicester in the cup. Before that, we were heading for yet more disappointment - with another frustrating first half performance, the sort we were used to under Lambert. But after leaving his seat in the stands and giving a morale boosting talk, a different V

Dark days are coming

I've seen some really bad things happen at Villa, in my time as a fan. Losses in league cups to lower league teams (Scunthorpe, Sheffield United) but I have never felt so deflated and depressed as I do at this moment. Don't get me wrong, Bradford deserve their massive achievement 100% and I wish them all the best for the final. But whilst this is their finest hour, this is also my clubs darkest hour and I am not sure we can pull this around in time to save our premiership status. It is

From: Darren Bent V.2

It's become a matter of great discussion, about how important Darren Bent is to our future prospects and success. For what it is worth, if we had Young and Downing supplying from the wings, I would have Darren Bent in the team every single week. The problem is, we do not create the chances Darren thrives on, and thrived on under the attacking threat from both Downing and Young. Simply, without the ammo, Darren is less of a threat. In my eyes, we cannot risk playing somebody who offers so l

    • Sanson buy option probably triggered. He's done well in Nice Hause will be a loan, Chambers hopefully can find a club. Dendonker is difficult now he's played no football in Naopli. Coutinho will be a loan again probably. I think Olsen will stay as we need 3 keepers. Digne might go but we'd need to replace unless we are planning to play Pau often at LB with Mings and Konsa  Hard to know as Emery will have another tactical evolution to come
    • Issue is that clubs are not showing the same level of energy when decisions goes for them. Forest would celebrate like crazy if the roles were reversed and they won with Everton denied 3 stonewall decisions. So ultimately clubs won't be taken seriously  until they stop contradict themselves.
    • If there's a proportional response from the change of an auto-renewal function, to the new crest not being appreciated, Villa Park may be torched to the ground.
    • The deal was something like 10 mil up front and another 10 mil only if Sheffield survive. If they don’t then Villa don’t get the other money and are obliged to buy him back for, say 8 mil. So, essentially, it’s been a 2 mil loan.
    • European football consistently, bigger sponsors and a focus on increasing matchday revenue. We could potentially break the £300m in revenue next season. Football performances are keeping us close to the other big clubs in terms of prize money. We have to close the gap every year commercially as that is the difference maker.
    • I might be wrong but I read that Sheffield payed £21m for him… so that’s a tidy profit,  even if it’s £9m we’d rather not spend?
    • I think the only worry is Unai doesn’t stay too long in jobs. His longest job was at Valencia for 4 years, he stayed at Sevilla for 3 years and Villarreal for 2 years. He’s not an Arsenal Wenger type who even before he went to Arsenal had spent 7 years at Monaco and had only had 2-3 jobs. We might be different given the control he has been given here plus the fact he is very good friends with Nas by all accounts, but I don’t trust anything in football any more after Grealish left us. Also, Bayern is no small time job or a mess of a club like Manchester Utd. They are one of a few teams who can genuinely win the Champions League and apart from this season have won the Bundesliga pretty much every season for the last decade, and their squad is littered with top, top players.    I think if we finish 4th this season and make Champions League I’d be very confident Unai would stay. If we finish 5th I’m a lot less confident. His answer to the links after Sunday’s game was “I am focused here, 100%”. Great, but that’s not exactly distancing himself from those rumours.    I think he’ll stay at least one more season but we can’t be naive and think he’ll stay forever, you have to prepare for the worst with good contingency planning. Replacing him with a Gerrard like appointment would be a disaster, but bringing in someone of the quality of Amorim or Fonseca would be the sort of thing I’d expect from a well run club.
    • Getting in each other’s way how?  If they both start they’d have different roles to play.  I mean I agree they play similar roles so would probably be rotated but I’m sure if needs be they could both start at the same time.
    • I think it's key to get to a US Audience for sure.
