What's Barrow got to do with it, your talking about the worst teams in one competition and the best in others. Let's just looks at where players like Ollie came from, teams that depend on the income generated from games in these competitions for years. I love English football from top to bottom,  Tamworth to Arsenal (not city)  And tbh having watched that ref and the lille players moaning and rolling about, the fans. I'm just not interested in European football at that level, it's shite. 

I'm not denying at some point we will lose players.  But the idea that finishing 5th causes us to sell several of our best players doesn't add up. 

Correct. Him and Watkins can not be sold because they cannot be replaced IMO.

This isn't true at all. If we don't qualify for CL we will probably need to be bringing in profit from a big sale to keep us on right side of the rules of we plan on doing and summer transfers. I think we will need to do that anyway regardless because we need the headroom to bring players in. The financial gap between EL and CL based on our expected progression between the two competitions would be 15m or so

I didn't realise Bournemouth were such a bogey team for us. Only beat them twice in 7 games and one of those was their first match ever in the prem.

It happens to clubs every season. Clubs that are succesful, but not quite succesful enough.  It happened to us under MON too. But fine, believe what you want. Let's hope we don't find out.

Ollie has had 1 proper top class season. I highly doubt he's demanding a move if we don't get 4th.  He'd also cost an absolute fortune so that limits the kind of clubs who could buy him.  We've got a world cup winning keeper who loves this club.  I don't buy that these players will be desperate to get out if we finish 5th.

In his first full season we could win a European trophy, qualify for champs league, after being in top 4 for most of the season, all with relegation fodder that our previous coach thought should be getting thumped by Chelsea. And with 3 serious injuries and other minor ones throughout too. I was only a kid in early 80s so for me, this is our best season in my adult life. Ducks for cover
