    • It would be really funny to be fair. Stuck in League 1 with 7k attendances and becoming the first "Super Stadium" in the country to close three out of four stands out of a lack of demand.
    • Absolutely right, and as I said, I just whistled mine off quickly. They sort of play into existing biases on quality and produce results that are at least as unlikely as any - but there's something both addictive and comforting in doing them. I think United are going to get uncomfortably near to us over the next few weeks, but I still think we can finish above them. Tomorrow's game and the one against Brentford just seem bigger and bigger every time I look at the rest of the season.
    • Those things are mostly fine, but I probably wouldn't be okay with just owning random restaurants; on the other hand if they were part of the stadium complex like Villa Live was originally planned then it would be not just okay, but excellent. The basic premise here is that the further you get away from the core business of 'being a football club' then the more you encounter different types of business challenge that we may not be equipped to resolve, that may be cyclical in other ways or subject to regulation, that ends up dragging down the football business.  I mean, you can take the absurdities in other directions as well. Why not build an Aston Villa supermarket to compete with Tesco? Why not set up Aston Villa Rented Properties Ltd and try to become the biggest landlord in the local area?  Re Aston Hall, if the club had a particularly excellent idea to use it for hospitality (I doubt they will, because it's several hundred metres from the stadium and what is it really going to offer people seeking hospitality at a football club that can't be provided better and more cost-effectively in the hospitality areas of the stadium?) then I have no issue with the club approaching the council to do some sort of deal to use the space occasionally, for a fee, but I'm opposed to any situation where the maintenance and upkeep of this old building ends up on the balance sheet of Aston Villa Football Club.  In the end, we've appointed people to executive roles because we think they'd be good at running a football club, and that's what we should allow them to do.
    • Has he really been out this long? Stockport got a very good chance of going up automatically and they have plenty of money behind them so selling him for 2-3m with a good sell on clause is the way to go here. Think Louie's situation is similar to O'Hare 4-5 years ago and we let him go to Coventry and he'd probably already be playing in the premier league but for the ACL injury.
    • That's about as heated as it's going to get fit the foreseeable future
    • Stones, Walker and Ake all big doubts for the Arsenal game on Sunday so let's hope those injuries are all 10 days and we'll get a relatively patched up defence to hit on the counter. Beyond that we won't be getting away with playing Tielemans in a two with all they have available in the final third now, going to have to put Tim into this game unless Unai has something radical up his sleeve.
    • Aren’t we playing Wolves
    • Like Neo in the Matrix batting away corruption charges
    • 500 mil right, so Shitehead are going to liquidate a 20th of their entire portfolio to build some two bob tinpot shit pit of a club a half a billion pound stadium. Sure thing
    • There are no comedic devices used in the above comment.
