lapal_fan
No, you're right, Toby Carverys are shit. Like the LIDL of "restaurants". I think I've been 3 times and every single time it's been garbage. Everything's under/over cooked, the meat portions are so meagre, I think the staff expect you to ask for more. It's just pathetic.

Unfair on Lidl. They are depressing shops, but some of their stuff is actually very good. Including (to my slight surprise), meat and wine.

lapal_fan
It is alright, especially for cured meats and stuff. But my comparison was more the metaphor of LIDL being seen as a shitty supermarket, should have said Kwik Save

BOF Posted November 30, 2015 Moderator Share Posted November 30, 2015 I once bought a bottle of 12 year old Scotch from Lidl, thinking 'how bad could it be'. I can only assume they meant 'Scotch made by a 12 year old'. It was absolutely horrendous.

Wainy316
Aldi and Lidl hard booze gives you the worst hangover imaginable. Rivalled only by soju.
CarewsEyebrowDesigner
Bad wine gives the worst hangovers. Well, second worst. Buckfast gives the worst, but then again that is bad wine really.

CarewsEyebrowDesigner
The last free bar I was at wasn't a free bar at all in fact only certain drinks were free (cheap lager/cider, piss white wine) and everything else had to be paid for. Shocking stuff, really. Didn't stop me loading up on the piss white wine, however.
