Popular Post blandy Posted November 25, 2015 Moderator Popular Post Share Posted November 25, 2015 We're nearly at the end of the year, now. As we normally do a "what have been your favourite albums" thread, it seemed rude not to make this one. Reluctant as I am to spout off on the internet (cough), here's a few that pop in to my head. I think it's been a better year than last, though I've perhaps bought less new music (and more older stuff that I've discovered or re-discovered). In no particular order then, here's my 10. a. The Lucid Dream - The Lucid dream Post rock from Carlisle I think. Nicely builds. b. The Fall - Sub-Lingual Tablet. This is a good, good album. c. Floating Points - Elaenia Instrumental d. Low - Ones and Sixes Hip Hop producer. Slowcore band. Strange mix that works. e. Torres - Sprinter Canadian, I think f. OOFJ - Acute Feast Scandi -Electronica g. Ólafur Arnalds & Nils Frahm - Collaborative Works. Chill. h. Sexwitch - Sexwitch Mental but in a good way i. Deerhunter - Fading Frontier j. Courtney Barnett - Sometimes I Sit and Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit She's just great with lyrics.
villa4europe
Jamie T probably just pips foals, both are great albums but I wasn't expecting that from Jamie T, he's still managed to keep his rough edge but added a load of polish to what he does, change of direction for the better, some stunning lyrics Foals I expected to be brilliant and it is
ChrisVillan
Heavy things. Some of them really heavy.
dAVe80
I don't normally have an outright favourite album of the year, but this year I do. I'll have a think about it, and come back and let you know what else makes my 2015 list.

I have a pal, Marc, who's the drummer for Colibra - a band who do "Heavy things. Some of them really heavy". Their music is here link to music . It's not totally my C of T, but they're pretty good. You may well love it, Chris.

troon_villan
Do re-releases count? Probably not. For new albums I'll say Kurt Vile followed by Foals and New Order a distance behind. Wooden Spoon goes to Richard Hawley. Must do better.
troon_villan
Oh and tip of the hat to The Chemical Brothers. Return to form but my top three are hard to beat.

Keyblade
Drake's If You're Reading This You're Too Late is easily my favorite of the ~10 or so albums I heard this year. The year blew by, still can't believe it's almost 2016. Edited November 26, 2015 by Keyblade

Jon
Also this has just recently been released. Can't find it on digital download anywhere, so I've bought the CD. Yet to get it and give it a listen, but have heard one of the tracks and it's very good. The album has had very good reviews though. I believe it's the KLF comeback, as the FLK.
