  1. Hey, Just wondering if there are any fans in the Manchester Area who fancy meeting up to watch games or travel to Home/Away matches. I'm based in the city centre so its pretty easy for me to get to a local pub
  2. Just think if Wigan win their game in hand, there'll be 8 teams separated by 2-3 points with 2 games left. Could be an epic championship-esque final day of the season.
  3. Still not safe, a lot depends on the mid-week game, but now 8 teams in the mix of going down.
  4. Benteke?! That's almost as ridiculous a suggestion as the Holman on instead of the Zog, or anyone else for that matter.
  5. Was thinking of getting the Collectors Edition with Alien figure and Power loader, partly because it would be a cool things for display and partly because it might be worth something down the line, but at this rate it'll just be in the sale at 50% off
  6. PSN: Heapsy BLOPS 2 and NFS mostly atm
  7. We seriously need someone to win free kicks up field in the dying minutes a la Ashley Young, we're just constantly under pressure. And BTW **** off Holman, what was the point of that Sub?
  8. Two words - **** 4-5-1. Lowton - Vlaar - Clark - Baker ----- Westwood - Delph ----- Weimann -- N'Zogbia -- Gabby ------------ Benteke ------------ Please.
  9. Quote on SkySports website: "At this minute there's not much really happening. There's been guys we went for who have gone to other clubs." http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11661/8448099/Transfer-News-Aston-Villa-boss-Paul-Lambert-doesn-t-expect-any-signings I wonder who they were and why they didn't sign for us, apart from the obvious.
  10. Is it just me that's seriously hoping that we leave it till the last 10 minutes to score the 2 required goals, after all, it's all about the entertainment.
  11. Watching it again on MOTD, how many goals/games has Benteke cost us with crap defending at corners? Great player going forward, but we seriously need to leave him up front at corners, or just tell him to do a job at the near post like Carew/Bent used to. Oh and Lichaj is just shank, if we're going to play 5-3-2 we need someone who doesnt get a nosebleed at the half way line.
  12. Holman is just Mcleish through and through, no talent whatsoever. IF, and that's a big IF, you need to take a player off, which watching the game N'zogbia didn't seem to be tired in any way, IRELAND? at least he has some sort of discernible skill
  13. I'd say I'm surprised at most of the comments but it seems to be the norm with Villa fans nowadays - 'we're just OK or average' when we win to 'we're the worst team in the league/laughing stock' etc when we lose. We seriously need a brighter outlook on the game. I said to a mate 'the second leg will only be interesting if we lose by one or two' and it looks like that's what we're going to get. Should be a damn interesting/entertaining game and I reckon we will go through. Watched all of the game on SKY yesterday, yes we conceded some dreadful goals from set pieces, and Benteke and Bennett should learn the 101's of man-marking, but it was by far all doom and gloom. We could and should have easily scored more, our play was generally better (if not cutting edge) and N'Zogbia seems to be coming good. We weren't helped by the poor pitch, the Bradford players/fans massively stoked up for the game and the game being generally wide open and end to end. Going back to Villa park, I'm sure it will be a whole different game, the Bradford team will be pretty nervous, and a goal in the first half should send us on our way to a decent but not spectacular win. It's not like we haven't come back from worse, against far better teams, I was at the Bolton game a few years ago when we lost 5-2 in the first leg and almost came back to go through, Bradford should be a walk in the park compared to that. Still not convinced on Lambert as a manager, a few teams have shown us what we're missing this season in terms of at least a pacy winger, solid central midfielder and probably a good left back (although Stevens has been decent every time i've seen him) with those we should be staying up, just.
