If we sign Ireland which I want us to do we play 4-2-3-1 imo...
New signing/NRC........Petrov
Downing/new signing..........ireland.............Young
Gabby
Most interesting one is if we sign Keane aswell. With that I'd imagine it will be 4-4-2 and Ireland will be switched to the right or to the left with Young going left.
or how about for the games against bottom half teams who come and put 11 behind the ball (of which we drew loads last season) we can I think afford to put Ireland centrally alongside Petrov and really have a go at trying to break down a packed defence. |

That would be most excellent. Having Gabby up front on his own liek that I beleive will allow him to play to his full potential. He needs to be flying up the middle and having balls fed into him. Everyone wants to see him become this 20+ scorer then what a better way to have Ireland, Young, and Downing feeding balls into him? Of course if we keep Milner Id have him with Ireland and young. Those 4 up front would be a great combo and Milner has the ability to feed the ball in perfectly. |

if it hasnt been mentioned, mancini has told ireland he probably wont make his 25 man squad so he should look seriously at any offers. why do i get the feeling he's trying to get him to shove off our way so the jimmy deal can go through?
also, wouldnt the fact that hes not in their 25 man squad absolutely destroy his market value? city cant play him, so hes no use to them, therefore hes got to be worth a fraction of the cost he wouldve been had he made their squad surely? |

Some might say that this would justify MON waiting until late August to make this signing then... ? |

sure hes not gonna be in their squad regardless, doesnt matter how long we wait
youve only to look at their list of midfielders to know that |

Some might say this is a poor excuse to suck up to the manager |

Depends really. If it's Ireland plus some cash, then i think we both win.
We lose a great player, but we get a pretty good replacement plus a chunk of cash which we apparently need.
City get the player they want, offload a player they don't want/need, and spend some cash which is worth about as much as you or I buying a chomp bar for 10p. |

We would be getting a good player and a lot of money but I still want to keep Milner, he is a quality player and one of our best. |
