Sell Him, Sell Him, Sell Him!
Malcolm Everall Posted by: avfcinwales on Friday, April 15, 2005 - 11:41 AM

Malcolm has had enough of all the "sell, sell, sell" talk...
Its fun being a Villa fan, even Albion fans can laugh at us,as some moan after a few minutes at any player who makes even a minor mistake.

Since the news that money 'might' be available in the summer, talk is rife of top quality super players, the sort Inter, and Chelsea buy, will be our targets.
Pathetic.

Even more ridiculous is the non stop suggestions - which have been with us all season - of which player Villa should let go season end.

What morons we Villa fans must be.

After a season in which we've struggled to survive thanks to injuries and Ellis' tight pocket, the one thing I'd hoped had got through the denseness in some brains was that the squad was short of players.

Why is it so hard to understand that we don't have enough players anymore for a Premiership season? Why is it so hard to believe?

I'm of the opinion we don't have any in form real quality either, especially up front or in midfield, Angel after another 'out' season, has to be questionable no matter how injured he's been.

So why in anyone's name would we want to rid ourselves of players who at times have proved themselves so usefull to the Villa cause.

Hendrie was the first but then he had a run and scored some great goals.Even now non Villa fans still rate his performances highly. Look at Barry, inexcusably booed time and again, can no one see why he keeps getting MOM or near MOM?

Vassell, played out of position, before his injury was a must sell player, for Gods sake why? He's one of our few internationals and a decent enough player and he's still young.

Strange, very strange, even stranger that fans who once said we paid too much for a French journeyman midifelder now reckon he's the teams saviour.

The same fans wanted Hitz to be played every match, how daft. He realises he's not good enough to get into the Villa midfield so has quickly jumped ship and quit for an easier league and a team where he might get more starts.

Some Villan he proved to be,some saviour he was, if he had 30% of Hendrie's commitment to the cause he might be still with us. Good luck to him, we are better for his departure though, much better, now perhaps Parker, a real English player will join, and O'Leary is slowly building himself a formidable midfield.

Throw in a bit of quality experience, another Merson, and we might be going somewhere with options a plenty.

We need fullback cover, we need keeper cover, we need strikers, we don't need talented 'Villa' players to be sold that's for sure, not that certain fans still won't want it.

They are after all the 'new breed of fan' I'm told.

Maybe, although I could think of a more decriptive metaphor.
