Lille Live: Lille 0 Villa 0 Half Time Report
The Intertoto Cup Posted by: JohnCresswell on Wednesday, July 31, 2002 - 07:17 PM

This is the story of the first half in Lille...
A report for the first 20 minutes can be found here
Since then, Lille have been awarded a third corner. Little came of this but Lille have continued to look dangerous and capable of scoring a goal or two against the Villa.

Villa have failed to produce a goal attempt of note in this second period of the first half. Lille on the otherhand, have had two good chances, and both were by French striker Brunel.

The first was a one-on-one against debutant goalkeeper Stefan Postma, the Dutch stopper made himself big, causing Brunel to blaze over the bar.

Brunel came close again after indecision by Postma led to Strovski being able to find Brunel once more. Again, he tried to chip the ball into the net, but it went over the bar.

Just before the half time whistle was blown, Samuel was given a yellow card, some may say unfairly, for a foul.

Half Time - Lille 0 Villa 0
