Last night saw Tony McAndrew’s young charges take on Chelsea in the first leg of the FA Youth Cup at Villa Park. A big game for the youngsters and a chance to emulate the class of 2002, how would they fair under the bright lights of Villa Park?

The champions return.
After victory at Bodymoor Heath earlier this week, the reserves strolled back into Villa Park tonight as three time champions. Stoke were the opposition on a chilly but entertaining evening with a bit of a party feel.

The tiny toons came to Villa Park tonight to face the little Villans in the first leg of this seasons FA Youth Cup semi final where a good sized crowd saw an interesting 1-1 draw.

A bank holiday top of the table clash for reserves watchers tonight at Villa Park as Steve Bould’s young team sought to battle their way into the title race and ruin our dream of an unbeaten season.
They nearly made it too.

Feeling a little bit tense about our battle for league places or our FA cup semi-final?
Why not spend your week relaxing at Villa Park where our reserves and youth team will be battling for league placings and taking part in an FA Cup Semi-final.
Ah, the perfect way to warm up for Saturdays trip to that there London. Two little slices of football heaven at Villa Park this week and you could go see both for just two quid!

Ah, the littlest biggest game in the Midlands; you’re always guaranteed goals when the boys from across town slither over to Villa Park and tonight was no exception as Villa scored seven to beat small heath four-nil.

A cracking result against Millwall with Villa winning by four goals to one in a strange old game that produced a somewhat unlikely hat trick hero and sees us progress to the quarter finals where we’ll face Fulham.

Ah, the magic of the cup, not the big cup obviously, that’s like the magic of David Copperfield, all disappearing pyramids and giant sheets, this is more like a bloke in a club with a pigeon and a big hat.
…and erm Gary Gardner.

On a cold night on a hill in North London that saw Villa Reserves stretch their lead at the top of the Premier Reserve League South, a not so fat man was sat there scribing the game on his Blackberry. Here is the result

The comeback kids almost pulled off the big recovery at small heath tonight, coming from two goals down before eventually succumbing to a late Kevin Phillips goal and a thrilling three-all draw.

A battling draw for Villa tonight against Wolves as we dropped points in the race against Arsenal, but plenty to be positive about in the performance, both on and off the pitch.

Tubby provides the match report from the latest victory by our more than capable second string. This time it was Fulham who were on the receiving end in what was a comfortable 3 - 0 Villa win.

Villa's young guns continued their impressive start to the defence of their Premier Reserve League South crown with a comfortable 2 - 0 victory over Guy Whittingham's Portsmouth.
Villatalk regular stato talks us through it.

As the window slammed shut the door opened on another season of reserve football at Villa Park, where our golden generation of youngsters went looking for a second win of this season and a third straight league title.

A terrific night at Villa Park, a big crowd, sunshine and goals as we convincingly beat Sunderland 3-1 to be crowned national champions at reserve level; happy days in the Fonz’s gang.

We’re almost there. Just one more win away from securing back-to back titles after a 2-1 win over an excellent Fulham side on a nervous summer's night for the reserves.

With two players on international duty and five out on loan, we couldn’t possibly be expected to beat a Stoke side that featured no less than ten players who’ve played for their first team could we?
We could you know.

In the last of the early evening light, with a full moon rising over the Holte End is there anywhere you’d rather be than Villa Park?
Certainly not tonight or you’d have missed a trouncing of Portsmouth by our reserves who wound up on the right end of a 6-1 score line.

Fine fare for reserves watchers, with a cracking 4-3 win over Chelsea. A very welcome return for the irrepressible Wilfred Bouma and one or two of Chelsea’s big stars too, but mostly just a treat for those of us still trying to get over Sunday.
This game was moved from Hinckley United, the home of the nil-nil, to Villa Park, and I think the decision paid dividends with a good sized crowd and plenty of goals.

No score again in Hinckley as Villa’s second string took on their nearest rivals in the title race and looked much the better side against Arsenal’s young guns. Lots to be pleased about though in a night of selection surprises.
