  1. Thought Mings was great today apart from pen.
  2. Mine are great too. They're speaking Russian, I think, so not picking up too much bias apart from the odd Liverpul большой and villa дерьмо
  3. Love him and wish we had a propper chant for him. Can't stop thinking a La Bamba chant would work great. You're welcome. Emi Martinez, Emi Martinez He came from Arsenal to Aston Villa Messi said, 'best in the world mate' Emi Martinez, Emi Martinez He came from Arsenal to Aston Villa Said it’s a f**king step up mate
  4. Missed his creativity and attacking threat this year and I can't wait to see him back to be honest. I think he is bit underrated at times and often goes under the radar. He’s an absolute maverick, hugely talented and I just love watching him play. Yes, he has some weaknesses, but really hope Gerrard can iron those out and find a place for him. I think he has the raw potential to be world class and he could be a massive impact player even if he doesn't reach those heights. I am sure Buendía will come good, but right now I think I would put a fully fit Traoré ahead of him.
  5. Just listening to the 'For The Love of Paul McGrath' podcast about 'Mick' Beale. Looking accross various media, getting very positive vibes about this fella.
  6. I would just like to see some significant improvement in how we defend and use the ball. I am sick to death of watching us hoof the ball and rely on long throws – I want to see passing and movement and, dare I say, some exciting football at a packed Villa park!! If we can start to see tangible signs of improvement, get some more wins and finish somewhere around mid-table (above would obviously be a bonus), I would be delighted and would go into next season (after the summer transfer window and a proper pre-season) with a lot of optimism that Villa can push on. I am a bit bemused by all the negativity surrounding Gerrard. From what I can tell, he has the attributes to succeed, and he has brought in good coaches who all know how to work together and win. Personally, I think he (they) will transform us and be very successful. I just have a good feeling about the fit. Yes, there is a risk on both sides, but there are also some strong aligned incentives. The fact that Gerrard has taken such a risk to come here makes me think he will walk over glass to make Villa better. The same with Purslow and the backing of Gerrard. Perhaps if it was just Gerrard, I might be more sceptical, but I look at the established team he has brought and what they did at Rangers and have plenty of optimism (hope) they will do well. I am buzzing for the Brighton game and am really looking forward to seeing what they can do with a good squad of players., including our younger prospects.
  7. Hope Michael Beale is confimed. Seems an important part of Gerrard's success at Rangers.
  8. I was there and will never forget that game....got a great picture of me and my lad celebrating by the players.
  9. Welcome. Looking forawrd to see what he can do with this sqaud and the resources avialble. Gets my full support while he is our manager.
  10. Very poor football. Million miles away from what is required. Too much reliance on long throws and long balls over the top. Reminded me of a Burnley team. Ings and Watkins not working for me. Need more composure/creativity/control with the ball.
  11. Poor defending from Hause there. Too easy for Son
