  1. I think your maths is correct too and I'll be very happy if we have it wrapped up sooner rather than later! Liverpool's collapse should be good for us, unless we catch them just at the moment that all the pressure is gone and they just play for fun. All of our remaining games are tough, with Brighton perhaps the easiest on paper at the moment - Spurs should win the two easy ones they've got, so I think of us as pretty much neck and neck with the deciding factor being whether we get more points out of Chelsea, Brighton, Liverpool and Palace or they get more out of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City. I think we've got an advantage there - but I'll be a lot happier once we can get a couple of games into it. A draw against Chelsea wouldn't be the worst result in the world.
  2. I still think this is really tight between us and Spurs - I can see us needing to get something at Palace on the last day. Saturday is a big opportunity to make a difference.
  3. Isn't that just the 'lion unleashed' from the current (round) badge?
  4. The International Organisation for Standards?
  5. I think a lot of it will be in re-profiling existing hospitality areas - so ripping out all of the Doug Ellis boxes (and the lounge behind) and replacing it with one big lounge with seating across the front - that kind of thing potentially doubles your capacity in there without impinging on the bowl itself.
  6. Finally, some sort of hint of news about the work we're doing in our hospitality areas. In terms of development work from what I can gather, it'll be the most work done on Villa Park since the Trinity Road Stand was built. An extra 1,500 hospitality seats will make a difference to our revenues.
  7. A couple more bus lanes, more parking restrictions on key routes and better enforcement of existing parking regulations would probably do the trick.
  8. Villa Park isn't actually all that far from the city centre - many of the benefits you'd get from moving nearer could still be achieved on the current site.
  9. Thankfully we know that the Premier league's biggest clubs are so concerned about the load on their players that they'd never, ever, agree to an extra game or a lot of long distance travel being added to the season. Why, that would make the decision to do away with replays in the worlds oldest cup competition seem like nothing but the greed of a bunch of one eyed hypocrites. I think we can safely put this one to bed right? Right?
  10. I think Chelsea would say thank you very much and laugh all the way back to Stamford Bridge - their bad season would still be bad and they'd have a clean sheet going forward.
  11. That would be shocking by the way - it would be a nothing penalty - taking Chelsea's bad season and making it worse but not catastrophic (they'd still be safe from relegation) whilst leaving them with a clean sheet for next season when presumably they'll be a little bit better. They'd lose maybe £14m for the league placings, but other than that it would just be a punishment for display - there's no real sporting sanction. If Chelsea are breaking any rules on financial fair play and require a punishment, it should come at the beginning of next season - for me, all FFP punishments should be sorted in the pre-season.
  12. With the donors on both sides of the Atlantic now sated, I wonder if we'll start to see political moves toward an end to this conflict. The commitment to military spending in the UK and the extra spedning in the US might be good for Ukraine in more ways than just getting more weapons.
  13. They're getting there - next years final could be Man Utd against Valencia though - they really should be looking at 60k plus for all of their finals.
  14. This has the look of a game where Arsenal batter someone, should score five or six and concede a late equaliser in a 1--1 draw. They may regret not putting this to bed early.
