New York City - Man City

Funny how communal the MLS is, in comparison to the relatively capitalist system that exists in European football. It's ironic because outside of football, it is the direct opposite.

All american sports are like this though. The draft system they have in place there sees the very best young players going to the very worst teams. There are wage caps, designated player rules, no debt and clubs are owned by the league.

A complete paradox to the american way of life if you ask me!

Oh and on Man City, this is just another way of them moving money around to circumvent the FFP rules. They do it already in all sorts of ways; look at the list of sponsors when their manager does a post-match interview for christs sake, they are all businesses belonging to the Abu Dhabi sheikhs!

Currently have half an eye on (with the other on the boxing) the friendly between Citeh and Chelsea taking place at Yankee Stadium. Bizarre seeing a football match taking place there, the pitch just looks odd, and I'm by no means a big baseball fan - goodness knows what the diehard fans think.

Trying to shoehorn a football pitch into a baseball stadium is going to require compromises on field dimensions... IIRC, Fenway's soccer configuration managed to get a decent width (probably due to the triangle in center field) but shorter than FIFA regulation. Yankee Stadium, even with the depth to left field, probably can't get as wide without sacrificing length.

Of course, pretty much any attempt to do a rectangular pitch sport and baseball in the same venue is going to result in atrocious sightlines for at least one of them...
